I was offered a job and turned it down and everyone was I then interviewed at the school I'm teaching at now. 90% poverty, and I love being there. People always ask why I stay there and how do I handle it. I feel like it's where I'm supposed to be, I feel like I can matter to their lives, you know? You never know what's around the corner for you!

I sent her the shirts and once she had them, it took about a week before she shipped them out. I told her I needed them before the end of June so I'm not sure if that's normal time frame or if she rushed for me. You should definitely contact her.

I always feel like I"m forgetting something!! Don't worry...even if you do forget something, you are still in America and there's nothing so important you won't be able to get there!

But I know the feeling. My to-do list is things like....arrange a cab to airport, paint nails, buy batteries, set DVR.....and so on and so on...

I completely agree with this! That's why I don't mind teaching the students who are off-track (repeating the class because they failed), while others see it as a negative thing and think I am crazy! For every child whose education and life I help improve, I believe it makes a huge difference! Some of them are truly just trying to get through their one year requirement for foreign language. I love talking to those students and encouraging them to do all they can because in 11 years of teaching, I can honestly say that I have never taught a student who was not able to pass my class with flying colors. Sometimes they just need that extra push to have more of a will to make an effort. And although not all of them get through it (mainly because of not showing up to class, despite my many attempts at contacting the parents, the guidance counselor, etc.), many of them do get through and I prefer to focus on that rather than the negative!

The packing list I use is from The Mouse for Less website, hopefully this link will work....http://www.themouseforless.com/downloads/trip/UltimatePackingList.shtml. Some of it is a little repetitive, I just use a highlighter for what I want.

You can do fishing at some of the different resorts, they rent poles etc. It is a catch and release thing. I know they have it at Ft. Wilderness and I think Port Orleans Riverside. They also have the fishing excursions on Bay Lake - although they get rather pricey.

I wish we had more teachers like you! We live in a very high-achieving district, and if you are not a stellar student, it can be difficult.

Nikki~ Those shirts look SUPERCALIFRAGILISTIC! I need to save the link you provided for when we take another large vacation to The World!

I weighed the one bag I was worried about last night and discovered it was 3lbs over! I cant help but wonder if I transfered the items from the roller suitcase to a duffel bag if it would be lighter? The other bag were taking is a duffel and DH said it was only 34lbs? I am running out of time to get it under control. Then again I might just go to the mouse savers website, print out their packing list and take out the stuff we really dont need although I'm not sure if there is anything I've packed we really dont need

Those of us traveling with kiddo's what are you going to take on the plane to keep them busy? So far all I've gotten is coloring books and crayons.

Sooo excited 2 weeks from today we will be waking up early and driving up to Disney!! My little guys (DS7 & DS5) ask me every day how many more days. I printed up my mousekeeping envelopes and some cast member appreciation cards. I also made some Child Information cards that I will attach to the boys in whatever manner works for that day (tied to shorts, lanyard, shoelaces whatever). I laminated them but I still made enough to have one for each day just in case. I did it in Word but I don't have a way to post a shared link to it so I am going to try putting it on here (it loses the formatting and the cute little Mickey Heads I put on). We watch our boys like hawks but it is going to be crowded and it only takes a second for them to wander off in wonder of the "World". Feel free to use!!
