No more Stanby line for A&E?

I haven't seen this posted about SB+ for Soarin yet, but it absolutely would be a disaster if they copied what they did for A&E.

At A&E you have a meet and greet that most people could only want to do once per day. They let single people take multiple tickets.

Soarin is an E ticket attraction. If they followed the same rules as A&E, an enterprising individual could get six tickets at a time, and (with a buddy or two) run through the lines multiple times, and end up with 20 or more turns at Soarin that day. Even DD6 wouldn't want to see A&E that many times.

No way they could do SB+ on a headliner without AT LEAST adding back in the legacy fastpass restrictions on how many and how often.

And now, we've really come full circle.

Yeah I brought it up a page or 2 ago. They need to restrict it. I brought up a scenario where someone could ride Soarin' and TT all day using a combo of FP+/SB/SB+. Yours scenario would be better though. I would much rather get several at a time, but with a 30 min return time, if the SB is 30 mins with the ticket you probably won't get many of them in.

Where did the info about the test and guest reaction come from? Just curious, I kept waiting for someone to post something and never saw it. Sounds like the have nots were not happy.

Here are the pictures I took of the boarded up SB+ distribution area. Then and now.

With boards up like that it tells me they are building and hooking up something behind that wall like permanent distribution machines to dispense the SB+ tickets for Anna and Elsa.

I'm sure they have some legacy FP machines stored somewhere that could be moved.

Thanks for the pictures!

Seriously, if they put back in some sort of paper machine that scans your MB and spits out a paper return pass, I am going to…I just don't know :rotfl:

Agreed, and there's no reason they couldn't offer legacy FP along with the FP+. It would just be limited - instead of handing out all available slots the way they did with the trial, hand out half that amount, and let people choose to stand in line if they want. It'll cut down on the actual number of people in line (though it probably won't change the SB wait times since they'll be waiting for FP and FP+ people going ahead of them).
There's no way to squeeze 100 people into a phone booth - but this would at least be a bit more accommodating.
Some people will get FP+ - mostly those staying on property for more than a week. The people arriving early to the park will be able to grab a FP for later in the day, and those who sleep in will still be able to wait in line if it's that important to them....

My thoughts exactly.

I'm glad- now if I can't get a FP+ in December, I have this option instead of standing in a 2 hour line with a 3 year old who is dying to meet Elsa.

LOL! :rotfl2:

I would not mind FP+ if they brought regular FP back and FP+ was just an additional perk.

1. What is behind the white curtain in the before picture?

2. Where were the pardon the pixie dust signs?

Does anyone think they'll bring the new standby+ back for Anna & Elsa? My friends are going to Disney for 5 days in late September, and couldn't get a FP+ for any day of their trip, and they booked the minute FP was available.

I too was shut out of FP+ today for A&E at my 60 day mark. Was online at midnight and several hours thereafter, but nothing. I've had better luck getting Frozen merchandise, including the Elsa dress, than FPs for this meet and great during beginning of October. With reduced park hours and the MNSSH events, it's a tough one.

Does anyone know, with the traditional standby line for A&E, whether your whole party needs to stand in line or is line when they were in Norway that only one person needed to be present? I've heard mixed messages.

With the A&E test return card, did only one party member need to be present to get a return card or everyone?

For regular standby, everyone has to wait. There just isn't a way for people to move in and out of the queue at PFH the way you could at Norway.

During the standby-less test only one person from the group had to go up to get the return ticket.

I still can't believe how obsessed people are with getting their kids to see these princesses! There have been mentions of 5-hour standby waits?! Hire a children's entertainer (or an escort!) and get them to dress up appropriately and your kid will never know the difference! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

the wait has been much shorter - 90 minutes compared to the waits in May that were 5 hours

Apparently you just don't get it. Good for you.

Also, there hasn't been a 5 hour wait since they were at EPCOT, and even then the longest wait we saw was 4 hours.

Just a quick FYI, the walls are still up, but now there are purple builder signs up on them. No pictures. It was raining last night when we were there.

Does anyone know if Anna & Elsa are back in Epcot? Yesterday and today they showed up on the My Disney Experience App as being present in Epcot from at least 9-9:40am.
