New Disney Theme Park reservation system

I made a reservation on May 6 for December for 6 nights using DVC points. I have APs in my MDE but did not link my reservation until two days ago, when I started seeing this information. I did not get an email from DVC or Disney, so I'm thinking it's because my reservation wasn't in my MDE.

I think we will be cancelling the WDW vacation and going to use 2019 points at HH, anyway. Too much confusion for my family for right now with all of these changes and questions. Hoping for 2021!

I don't know- my tickets have been linked for a while, and I didn't get an email or anything.

My APs have been in there but I just linked my reservation, so maybe Disney didn't know I had a reservation and DVC didn't know I had tickets??? Are you saying that you have a reservation and tickets that have been in there but you still haven't received an email?

I don’t think that Disney knew that you had a reservation if it wasn’t linked in your MDE account. The emails came from Disney Destinations, not DVC.
 
Unless Disney changes course, the DVC resorts will remain the only ones open for a little while, and the cash guests elsewhere when parks open will be moved to one of those complexes

Okay... so if I don’t get a reservation, when does my AP clock restart? The first reservation that I get? What if I don’t try for several months? Can I extend the life of my pass? Without park hopping privileges will they do something to make up for that?

Just curious really, as some of the above will not pertain to me.
In Shanghai they have not restarted the clock on AP, during the current reservation phase. Basically those weeks/months are a free extra for AP. Not 100% sure they'll do the same at WDW, but I have to bet, I'd say they'll do.

It seems in Shanghai there aren't many issues in getting a reservation, however Orlando is completely different, with so many more onsite resorts (Shanghai has only two hotels).

Yes. That is what my friend was told to share with her cash clients, subject to change of course,

Now someone posted on another thread that they have a TA friend who hasn’t been given any info about that yet,

So, Disney has indicated phased openings and removed the notice on the website that said resorts were opening the 11th of July...and said it Was an error, which leads support that initially, cash guests may be moved

I had tickets linked to my MDE -just called Disney and verified everything, but alas no email
 
This afternoon I got an alert from my Disney World app that had the attaches message. Over the next several hours Disney removed all of my ADRs, driod depot and Savi's workshop reservations. Now all that I have left is my cash hotel stay dates and my DVC stay. I think the cash hotel stays will be removed here soon.

I’m getting them too. So sad. :(
 
I am getting all the cancelled dining reservations emails too. It is sad to see them go, but my family and I are still going in July as planned.
 
Logic would say that the next thing to be automated /changed would be cash hotel reservations. After this is done they should be able to start their theme park reservation system.
 
Yup, just got my cancellation this morning. And I was REALLY looking forward to it-it was the lunch with an animal specialist at Sanaa on September 26th. Frankly, I don't understand why they had to cancel it. It's a separate dining area, is limited to 15 guests, and I'm sure far fewer had signed up this far out. Oh, well, I guess it was just part of everything being cancelled.
 
As my thoughts about Disneys new theme park reservation system continue Im starting to really hope they hire Google or Microsoft to make it for them. Disneys track record for anything tech related is actually pretty horrible. Their apps crash all the time and their DVC reservation system also has 7 dwarves construction running around almost daily.

Thye use the old HP - goes by different names nowadays. HORRIBLE IT
 
Based on Universal Studios Orlando reports their virtual queues are not working very well at all. You have to hope that Disney's new theme park reservation system and virtual queue systems will better than Universals... Fingers crossed. Im guesaing next week cash hotel stay guests start being notified of hotel changes since it would be 30 days out from opening.

We aren’t going now until October. I had no desire to be one of the guinea pigs while they figure out their new systems. We had a trip in April cancelled and one at the end of this month. I’m fine with it because we decided to go somewhere else instead.
