MNSSHP 2023

I have never been to MNSSHP before, but my son has asked to go for years. How does it work? You buy a ticket to the party and are able to get into the MK at 4pm? You do not also need a park ticket separately?
It is a separately ticketed event. So you buy a party ticket and you are able to enter MK at 4pm. You do not need a park reservation or a regular day park ticket. The party includes most rides (but not all) and most shopping (but not all) as well as special extras such as special shopping, food items, shows, and attraction overlays. In addition, adults can wear costumes (within guidelines). Dates are announced sometime between Feb and April (based on previous years) and often sell out by August. The parties run from (generally) the second Friday in August until Halloween. What else are you wondering about? I'm always happy to talk Halloween.... :)

Thanks for the reply. So do they clear the park out at 4pm of people who are not participating in the party? If not, how do they differentiate between partiers and non-partiers? I am surprised to hear that they sell out by August! I guess I need to keep on top of it to make sure we can get tickets. Thanks again!

So anyone entering the park for the party at 4pm, and everyone already in the park who has party tickets, will get a wristband. Folx inside the park go to a wristband kiosk, folx outside get them at the turn-styles. At 6pm, when the park officially closes, cast members will start checking for bands. They will slowly move from the back of the park to the front, so at first people without bands won't be able to get on a ride. Then they'll be asked to leave Fantasyland, Frontierland, etc. and move to main street (where they won't be able to buy any food or souvenirs). Finally at 7pm (or party start) anyone without a wrist band will be escorted to the exit.

And I should say that some dates sell out by August. I think last year all dates sold out, eventually, but some didn't sell out until the day before.

Halloween always sells out! We were lucky one year and were able to book tickets for a vacation stay after our 7-nt DCL and were able to score Halloween night tickets. Best party night ever! My mom and I will be going in Sept. and looking forward to doing a MNSSHP--her first ever! So glad it's back!

Nope your party ticket is all you need. I love MNSSHP. It’s def worth the ticket and you can use the Morning to relax, have a pool day, or resort hop.

Wanting to double check…
Are MNSSHPs usually on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays?
Or on Fridays not Thursdays?
Trying to plan park days for our trip 9/9/23 to 9/16/23.

Thanks!

It has historically depended on the month. Here were the 2022 dates:

  • August: 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, 30
  • September: 2, 5, 9, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, 29, 30
  • October: 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31
As you can see, it starts with just Fridays and Tuesdays. Then it’s Sundays Fridays and Tuesdays. Then as you get really close to halloween it’s constant.

Someone upthread mentioned Thursdays so I wanted to double check.

If we do 2 MK days, I’m thinking one on a party day for hopefully lower crowds, then the other on a non-party day to see Happily Ever After!

Fridays are typical but they did have some Thursdays this past year, we had a Thursday party booked this past September. Pre-covid days they used to have DAH parties on Thursdays in September, which was awesome, got to do both MNSSHP and DAH the same week! Miss those days.

We are planning to go Columbus Day weekend this year. With 2022 dates in October being:
  • October: 2 (Sun), 4 (Tue), 6 (Thurs), 7 (Fri), 10 (Mon), 11 (Tue), 13 (Thurs), 14 (Fri), 16 (Sun) ...
And Columbus Day being Monday October 10, 2022, do you think they will again skip the Sunday and do it Monday? That really sucks because if we are trying to avoid missing school we will go Friday and leave Monday, which means we would miss both Friday and Monday party!

We just booked EPCOT AH for our August stay on a Thursday night. I'm hoping we will catch MNSSHP on Tuesday or Friday of that week as well!

We used to go to the Party for low wait times, primarily. For those of you who went last year, how were the waits for rides?

P.S.: Yes I know there is posted data for that on sites like Thrill Data.. I'd like to hear from posters on this site.

Per title of thread, please keep this thread focused on 2023.

Can’t wait for this years party! We are rescheduling for the 3rd time and hoping that this will be the lucky one! We’ve had our costumes ready since 2020! Last year we made it down and Ian sent us back home. Prior to that we had planned for Halloween in 2020 and the runDisney Villians races. Hoping to finally dust off those costumes and enjoy some candy!

So exciting!!! What are those costumes!? Or is it a secret? 👻

We are staying at the GF from Tuesday, Aug. 15 thru Sun. Aug. 20th. From the looks of last years MNSSHP, it looks like there will probably be a party on Tuesday, the 15th and Friday, the 18th? My son and daughter really wat to go. Which day do you recommend?
