Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Central 2004!!!!!! =0)

I would like to hear some thoughts on this. I booked me and my family CM's for 6pm the night of our party. We arrive that day at WL thought we'd hang out at the WL and get the kids a nap. We have AP's so that's not a huge deal to go to a park early but should we? I don't expect us to enter the park before 7:30 I hear it takes about 1.5 hrs for a sit down meal. Is this just a bad idea? I'm on the fence weather i need to rethink that supper. I like the idea of mickey seeing the girls right off the bat then taking the monorail to the tcc and we are at the party. Should we RUSH to be there at 7? Is there a reason people want to be there at 4 and stay so long? Just curious i know some are eating supper but anything else? Thanks

I just think some want to get there early and not miss a thing seeing as the party tickets are expensive and it's just exciting BUT it's all a matter of taste. Some eat elsewhere and arrive right at 7:00p, some will come right at 4:00p and just snack, others will eat and be done right around 7:00p etc...

There's nothing wrong with arriving around 7:30p. You really won't miss much. The first parade is 8:30p usually. Then there are shows and the rides. The fireworks are at 9:15p.

I say do what works best for your family. I've done both. Arrived early and ate between 6p and 7p and also arrived 7:30p once.
Good luck deciding.

Okay, so I ordered our tickets and then got transferred to PS. They didn't have anything earlier than 7:50 at the LTT, but had a 4:10 at CP. My kids are 10 and 8 so the CP will be a bit young for them but it was the only choice at this late date, every other rest she said didn't have characters in MK unless I went to one of the resorts. Should I go with an off property and just enter the gates at 7 with everyone else? And then she mentioned to me that I may need to use my hopper pass to get in to the gates at 4 for the PS since they aren't starting the MNSSHP till 7.....so now I'm stuck with that as well and think maybe I should have just made them off at one of the resorts and forgo the trying to enter early.

Just reassure me, will I be able to get in early with just my MNSSHP ticket, which I'm picking up at guest services or is it 50/50 chance?

Thanks :)

Oh and last question, can I pick up my MNSSHP tix before the actual date? We'll actually be hopping from park to park a few days that week before this so didn't know if I had to wait till day of the ticket to get them or if I could go ahead and get them to speed things up on the 8th :)

We are not using our hoppers that day. What time will they let you in if you only have MNSSHP tickets?

Some of the post say that you can get in at 4 but that you are kept in TomorrowLand or another area of the park till 7. But the lady that made my PS said that you couldn't get in till 7 for the MNSSHP so that I might have to use my hopper to get in at 4 to get to our meal. If that turns out to be the case we'll not be making our PS time because I'm not wasting a day on 3 hours to eat when I paid extra for MNSSHP tix that start at 7. I really hope that we can get in though, we really wanted to have a nice sit down dinner before we ate all that candy....Teeheehee.

Can anyone help us with a "touring plan" for MNSSHP? We'll have 2 adults and 2 kids almost 6 and 8. We'll have them take a nap so I'm fairly confident that they'll be able to get through the party without getting tired. We plan on getting there at 4:00 and I've heard we should get our picture first. We want to make sure we do all of the party things and the rides will be secondary. I figure we can do those on one of our park days. Any ideas on which order we should do things, which parade we should see and where we should sit for it? Does the parade start at the front or back of the park? Any other tips are appreciated. Also, is there a costume contest? Any details? Thanks!!

sorry if asked before.....
we are going to go to Mk around 3ish. What can we do from 4 until it starts? Just walk around? Is it a waste of time going that early if you don't have dinner ressies? Can we eat at a counter service at this time?

Just for clarification because there seems to be confusion over the 4pm versus 7pm thing.

In years past you could enter the MK at 4pm or later w/ only your MNSSHP ticket. It doesn't matter if you have a PS or not. From 4pm-6pm you can enjoy the park as you would any other day of the year. At 6pm all guests for MNSSHP will be ushered to one place (in the past usually Tomorrowland but has been Fantasyland on occasion). Anyhow, from 6pm- 7pm you can enjoy MNSSHP in the "roped off area" only (being Tomorrowland or wherever they keep the guests). At 7pm the party officially begins throughout the rest of the park.

You cannot enter at 4pm and get your free picture done, nor will there be any other MNSSHP events yet. With the exception of the meal at LTT. However, after 6pm you can get your picture done in the "roped off area" and the closer it gets to 7pm others have reported leaving LTT and being able to get a pic done in Liberty Square as well.

You can ride the rides, shop, eat, or see the shows. Things you would do on any other non party visit to the MK. If you go at 3pm though you will need to use a separate ticket. This only really makes sense if you have an AP or UPH. It's just not worth wasting a full Park Hopper day for 1 hour.

The second parade is usually less crowded. So it would be easier to get seats closer to parade time. I personally think the one exception to this was sold out Halloween night. We went that night in 2003 and the 2nd parade was still rather crowded. In the past the parade went one way and then the other for the second showing. So it may be going front to back or reverse. There is no costume contest.

We have a PS at LTT for 5:15. Will we get our armbands at the MK gate or will they give them to us at LTT? Anyone know? Are there spots around the park to get your armband or would we have to walk back up to the gate?

They hand them out (if you enter after 4:00p) at the gate...party goers will have a special entrance...that is also when you get your trick or treat bags.

If somehow you miss getting them upon entering the park, there are locations in the park where CMs will give them to you. In front of the Castle and at City Hall for example.

A few years ago when they did not let us in the park early, except those who had PS, they'd give us the wristband in the restaurants before we left and at the entrance at 7:00p.

How do they get people out of the park who do NOT have the MNSSHP ticket? Why wouldn't people from the day just stay?

Everyone who is staying for the party will have a wristband given to them in exchange for their tickets. They escort everyone else out. After 7:00p, only those with party tickets are let in.

Last year, they made everyone who was staying for the party go to Adventureland and wait. When it was time for the party, they checked your armbands as you walked by. I assume that if you don't have an armband, they ask you to leave.

They also temporarily close the stores on Main Street so that people don't stay and linger.

This is our 4th time at the MNSSHP and I had no idea about getting in early. We have tickets for the 17th and would really like to know if anyone who is going earlier in the month comes across any problems with entering between 4 and 7. I would really like to go a little early since in the past we have gone about 6:30 and it was crazy but don't want to make the earlier trip (especially with a one year old) if we can't get in. Can't wait to hear!

Thanks. :grouphug:

Countdown for us is 22 days!!

DH & I will be wearing orange tshirts - his says Tigger University
Mine says "go in Grumpy, come out Happy"

Im planning on heading to the MK at 4pm. If they dont let us in we'll do a roundtrip ride on the WL boat as that's where we're staying.

Do they sell Halloween Mouse ears or Tigger ears or things like that at WDW?? Would love to have something before we depart (MNSSHP on 10?29), but wondering if we can get something there if we have to?

thanks!!

The only thing I saw last year were the t-shirts. I never say the pins. Where can those be purchased?

:Pinkbounc

Does anyone have any information about the special Halloween shows (other than the parade and fireworks)? I'm wondering if we should try to work some shows into our schedule. Thanks! :)
