Hi there,
As I now work at the Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France, I have been asked to give some info about the place.
Ok,
At present the resort is in "pre construction". In Marriott terms it means the resort is not finished. There is no building work going on at the moment, but maybe sometime in the future to build the next phases of the place. At most there will be 190 townhouses contructed. Because of that, the resort is very calm and there is not thousands of people rushing around everywhere.
The accommodation is "typical" french village townhouses and is set around lakes, gardens and Golf Disneyland.
Downstairs, there is a hallway, toilet, kitchen fitted with oven, microwave, dishwasher, sink, clother washer and dryer, fridge and freezer.
The living and dinning area is 1 room and features a sofa-bed, comfy chairs, dinning table and dinning chairs. The TV has English and other language channels and has more variety than Disney hotels. There is a DVD player and stereo. Dvd's and playstations can also be rented.
Upstairs, the masterbed room has a king or queen (can't remember) size bed, TV, wardrobe and en suite bathroom, featuring a bath, shower, sinks and toilets. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds, tv, wardrobe and bathroom with shower.
In total, there is space for 6 people, 2 in the master bedroom, 2 in the 2nd bedroom and 2 on the sofa bed. Though you can request an additional fold away bed.
The resort has indoor and outdoor (seasonal) swimming pools, gym, sauna, steam room, supervised kids club and playground, table tennis (seasonal), lakes and landscaped gardens, marketplace, concerige desk, bar and free wifi and pc internet access.
A shuttle bus runs to and from Disney or the 34 bus leaves from the top of the road.
Marriotts operates the resort in 2 ways, renters and owners.
Renters:
Pay per night, access to all on site facilites. Sometimes there are good offers on, but only during the very cold months usually.
Owners:
By buying a week with Marriotts, you can either use your home resort in Paris, exchange for another Marriott resort around the world, exchange for Marriott reward points letting you staying in Marriott and Renaissance hotels, or exchange through Interval International to one of over 2000 other resorts worldwide.
You pay your membership fee which you can finance however you like, then a yearly maintenance fee of around 800 euros. This pays for the up keep of the resort. We have all seen how the Disney hotels have been going down in quality since opening and the maintenance fee helps keep everything looking nice and new.
You can either take one week at the resort, or split it into a 4 and 3 night breaks.
The Tour:
If you've been up off taking the tour because you think they will somehow pressure or trick you into buying, then there is no need to worry. I've never seen anyone pressured, basically the sales guys aren't allowed to! If they are caught tricking someone they will be in big trouble.
The future????
All depends on how many weeks are sold. There are plans for more houses and maybe even to develop the land opposite. Because of the maintenance fee, the place will always be well looked after though.
If you have any questions, please leave me a message on the forum.
Thanks and I hope this will be of some help in the future.
Martin
Ps, I am a Marriott owner too!
