Jumpin' June Exercise Thread

The challenge is on. And it's a challenge by you to you! Challenge yourself to do "x" number of minutes of exercise this month and then get moving!

We're here to cheer you on! :cheer2: We need less of this :coffee: and more of this :banana: Summer is here, lots of daylight to be active! :beach:

Did you know that a goal of 1800 min for the month is just 60 min a day of activity?
A goal of 900 min is 30 min of activity per day!
A goal of 1440 is 24 hours of exercise--a whole day!

How the challenge works:
Post your personal goal for June (xxxx minutes of exercise) and then post updates as frequently as you like. Progress will be tracked here.
Please post your update total at the top of your post.
You are also welcome to share your activity as well.

EXAMPLE:
301/1800
45 min running.

As you reach milestones for the month, your name and total will change color in this post.
At 10%, you'll be bright pink
When you reach 25%, you'll be orange
When you reach 50%, you'll be purple
When you reach 75%, you'll be turquoise
At 90%, you'll be red (because you are on fire!)
When you hit 100%, you'll be WISH green!

Last month is the first month I made it to 1000 minutes. I really want to push myself this month. I have the last two weeks of June off and have no plans at all. I want to avoid sitting around on my butt my whole vacation. My hope is that if I set my goal high, it will inspire me to keep moving.

So goal for June is 2000! (phew, that's sort of scary to type)

I would like to join. I have a host of physical issues, but have been losing some weight (16 lb since 4/1). I wanted to start adding some gentle exercise, but having just put the deposit down for wdw in December has got me motivated to push through some of the pain and inertia. Maybe I could even get out of that ecv some. I want to lose another 30 lb by then, but my goal for this thread is to start at 600, which is 20 minutes per day. It doesn't sound like a lot, but for me it is!
 


I'm in....1200 seems to work for me, so I'll stick with it. (Altho' I am intrigued by your pointing out, Linda, that 1440 is 24 hrs, a full day. Maybe in the fall????)

I feel the same way! Great weather this past weekend, and it is still lingering. My good feelings about June are also probably because we are nearing the end of the school year here in NYC and I'm a teacher. My kids are also so excited and we are looking forward to having the summer off together, and our WDW trip next month. DH is also a teacher. We love our jobs, but we also love our summers with the family! :)

Fun! I'm in! I'm shooting for 2400 minutes. Sounds crazy putting it down, but I've been putting off training for a half marathon, since I have a while before my first one. Maybe being accountable will make me stick to the training plan. Oh, and I'm at 25/2400 - walking
