January Exercise Challenge!

An hour WERQ class followed by an hour Turbo Kick class brings me to:

2790/2000 :drive: That's the best month I've had since I started my weight loss quest back in June!

Thanks robin, I should have explained myself clearer but they called me back for my session so I didn't finish my post. This is my first session in more than a year. Since my last time thru formal therapy I was extremely weak and injured, it was a lot of leg lifts etc. So my post was a hopeful wish that I wouldn't be doing just leg lifts, etc.

Lo and behold, yes, I did the stupid leg lifts. I know I need to do them but I still don't think they will help enough. The good thing about this session tho is that I think I have a really good therapist. She and I communicated very clearly with each other and she completely understands exactly what my challenge is and where I'm aiming to get to. She's very quickly was able to find that final weak point where i experience pain and is working to eliminate it. Another plus, she's a runner, so she gets the need to run, (and is letting me keep running) and she explained some other things to me in ways that seemed to make sense.

I guess it's a learning experience for us all to be patient with our bodies and with trainers and to keep looking and trying until you find something that works.

I realized that I'm definitely stronger than I was when I was injured before, but I really am not as strong as I thought. I think i seriously have overestimated myself in the whole "i did a half marathon" excitement. But on the plus side, she got me back onto a bike, so I'm excited to add some spinning to my cross training. I've missed it.

Despite the marathon length of my session, I'm gonna count it as 45 min tonight since I was on the bike for a while, then did exercises for a while before all the other therapy stuff. 925/800
 
Oh- and I meant to add that I will be updating the first post tomorrow with everyone's final reporting for January. I'm planning to do it later in the day, just in case people have minutes to post from tonight.

Finished out the month with a 60 min run/walk. Good finish for the month considering I ran the Tinker Bell half this month. Plan to keep up the momentum next month as I am running again in April.

I hear ya- I stay off the ice as much as possible. Injury risk is too high for me! I'd count those WDW minutes. Maybe "discount" them by a factor of like .5 or something. I mean geez, I walk miles and miles when I'm there and it definitely counts as improving fitness. I could tell the difference it made in my runs when I went to DL last year in the midst of training.

I can't believe it....even without the considerable WDW minutes, I made it to 1900/2000 this month. I can easily add 100+ minutes of walking in WDW, especially trying to keep up with my friends' small and active children.

So....2000+/2000 for me - woo hoo!!!!

Next month, I'll be walking the PHM. I've been working on this for a year and can't believe it's almost here.

Thank you for hosting this. I hit 61% (boo). Ended up with a stomach bug on 1/26 that wiped me out for the month. On to February!
