It’s a...WDWKOOK LIVE TRIP of FIRSTS! TRIP SUMMARY PAGE 17!

@WDWKOOK Your RPC check in and first impressions were very similar to our experience in February. I checked in at the CL desk and the he acted the same as your lobby CM. Overall I thought the CMs were rather cold the whole time, nothing particularly endearing. At times I found myself questioning if I needed to be a "regular" there for anyone to even say hi. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but I'm not sure it matched the price tag or hype, at least in my view. Hope things pick up!

There is another DISer at RPC right now too -- I believe she just checked in today maybe? She posted in the CL thread -- maybe it's just hit or miss on the CM's and hopefully you just hit a "bad" time and things will get better!

First RPC impression: Underwhelmed, surprised, and unimpressed - thus far, it's early in the game though so I am withholding final judgment.

Check-in was the most unceremonious CL check-in I've ever had.

Went to the front desk and the CM seemed barely interested I was checking in. She made no small talk and it took quite a while for her to realize or care I was staying CL.

After a few minutes she said, "Well, your room isn't ready so we'll text and email when it is. You can go off to the parks now." Whoa there! Back it up! You're not even offering to escort me to RPC for a tour or breakfast? What is going on here?! I told her I'd like to go up for breakfast and she said, "Oh, I'll have to go find someone to do that." Unbelievable.

After a couple of minutes she returned with a runner who asked how my travels were. We "landed" on the 4th floor, she told me the 3rd floor has a concierge team, and have a nice day. She never mentioned anything else other than she asked if someone had given me a lounge times sheet. No Mimosa for me, and after that bus ride, I could have used one.

At this point, I felt like I landed on another planet. I found a table, it was actually very crowded and I hadn't noticed till later all the empty seating on the monorail/front side of the lounge.

No bowls by the oatmeal, but finally found them by cereal where immediately a boy spilled his cup of chocolate milk all over the counter and floor. The CM had her back turned and the boy looked mildly panicked so I said, "Excuse me," and pointed out the spill, to which the CM replied, "Yeah." She then turned around and angrily said, "No balls!" to two little girls who had bounced a ball.

I always put skim milk in my coffee and at other CLs they have little cartons. When I asked about cartons she said, "We've never had those."

I asked a CM where the bathroom was and she said they don't have one because, "We have rooms on this floor." I told her I was homeless and that other CLs have bathrooms near the lounge and she asked incredulously, "Which ones?" Well, YC, BWI...

They don't seem to have yogurt in cartons either, another carton CL mystery.

Thus far, my very short experience hasn't left me with a positive impression of the lounge at all, especially for this price point and reputation.
KOOK I hope it gets better for you but it was the exact same way for us when we returned in Feb. to the RPC after a very long break from it. At check in no one wanted to be bothered with bringing us upstairs and the CM all seemed so impersonal and so out of touch. The only time I spoke to a CM on the third floor she didn't have a clue and was giving me the wrong info. on the pool operations. When I told her that I thought she had it wrong she just laughed and commented that they don't tell her much and I could go down and check for myself. Seriously!? The first day I kept telling myself it would get better but by the third day I was so ready to head over to the BWI CL! I can't say the CM were down right rude but the smiles seemed so false and the whole attitude was uncomfortable and I have no interest in ever returning.

I have to smile when I read this because we were at the RPC at the same time in Feb. Cold is the perfect way to describe the CM attitudes at the RPC. Your right for the price we all paid to stay at the RPC they could at least pretend to be a little bit friendlier!

Learned something new today. I was told that there is now only one early ADR bus that leaves between 0645-0730, and that's it. I always thought they ran longer and had more then one? She said this was a change.

Taking the MK bus over instead and then hitting the high seas to GF. Thank goodness YC was the first stop, this is madness with "all available space" filled. Miss the MK Walkway right now. They have Mimosas at RPC, right?

Wow I go to an adr and I missed two pages today. Strange they told you only one bus. I was on a bus with no on else and two other buses showed up same time at ak.

Seriously though I'm not thinking your cl experiences are turning out so great this time. How did your room at least turn out this time? And what resort is rpc?

(Snarky) and I still have my tree view just so you know.

That view and your room!! Wow, looks great! Food looks very good too. Hoping things are going better for you!

That is a nice sized room. How many does that room sleep? We never tried RPC but felt the same way at GF SL. The CMs were the coldest we have ever seen. Anytime we asked for something it was that we were bothering them. I was hoping RPC would be different.

Morning Kook!

I've so enjoyed living vicariously through your wonderful TR this week! Not having to consider everyone else in my family and their vacation styles is making going solo is very appealing to me right now! ;) lol. Perhaps it's time to plan for a just Me trip...

Here's to getting the perfect room at the GF without having to move! :)

Have a great day, whatever it holds!

I'm glad you're enjoying the TR:)

It is! You will get some beautiful photos of RPC ::yes::.

Yes, Disney at Halloween is always fun, especially with all the great Halloween merchandise. Can't wait to hear about your RPC stay, as well as see all of the great pics you'll take :goodvibes.

Love the BWI pics! Glad you are enjoying your solo trip so much that you'd do another one. I've been on girls trips before, but never solo. I don't think I'd mind being at Disney alone, I just don't want to travel/fly alone :rolleyes1.

RPC review soon to come. I can understand if you have to take a long flight. Mine is only 2 hours.

What a beautiful day! :sunny:

It has been amazing (for FL) since Monday. Still no rain, but that is supposedly changing tomorrow.

Hopefully you enjoy RPC today! As much as we like the WL and Poly CLs, RPC was really hard to beat.

Spoiler alert: For me, the (old) WL CL beats it hands down.

Back in the days when I was running, my very favorite thing to do was to get up early in the morning and run around the Boardwalk. It was always very peaceful and gorgeous in the morning. :)

Too bad you missed the boat. I love to take the resort boats. We'll be at the GF in December and plan to take advantage of that boat. :)

It's still a popular circuit. Running down to DHS is nice, too and they have bike patrols stationed near the bridge area. He said it was because it was a shady place to stop and cool down.

I can't wait for RPC! It's almost as if I'm the one checking in. Your trip report has put me right there, so thank you for the little retreat from normal life!

It's like you're here, minus the noise:)

I just got home from our stay at WL, and I've been following along. I don't believe how insane the MK got on Saturday compared to the rest of the week. I'm already jonesing hard to get back to Disney, luckily we got a trip booked the week before Thanksgiving coming up.

Happy planning.

Oh no! I hope RPC gets better... we check in on 9/26. It's amazing how each club level seems different. No consistency across the resorts.

Thanks for all the great info, pics and letting us follow along on your journey!

No consistency at all! Not even amenities. No welcome chocolates here at the priciest CL, but I had them at CR on Monday, along with large tubes of H2O SPA, toothbrush kits, large bottles of water everyday, sealed to-go coffee cups along with half & half...and this was a standard non-CL room!

At this moment, I can't recall any particular CM names, but there were only a few that we latched onto. All in all, the CM's were our least favorite part of staying there...everything else was spectacular -- hope things get better @WDWKOOK!

I haven't yet discovered the spectacular part, but there are two afternoon/evening shift CMs who have been helpful and friendly. The concierges on the 3rd floor were also very professional and cordial, though the runner did not introduce them to me. The morning lounge staff I experienced weren't notable and neither was the front desk CM and runner. I can't imagine having no WDW CL experience and then booking the priciest CL and being "welcomed" and "introduced" to RPC as I was this morning.

Boy :sad::sad::sad:
I feel so awful and all that is just terrible. Really makes me treasure our wilderness Lodge club level days

Put those tears in a sack. You'll be crying all day if you start enumerating all the changes at WDW over the past couple of years, especially CL. I just sort of look at this as a fact finding mission, and the facts are adding up to me forgoing CL in the future.
