Same. In fact I have a large inground pool. However, I live in the northeast. That really limits my pool season. Love to travel in Jan/Feb when winter is hitting hard for a little tropical break, but sometimes the ocean is still pretty chilly. A pool would be awesome to offer another option on those colder, rougher or rainy days. Beach wheelchairs are cool, but don’t suit everyone and pools are accessible for almost everyone. No, I have a pool nearby. Not cruising to a tropical island for what I have back home.
but the beach will be quieter with the water park as less people will be on the beach (particularly the noisy ones). Water parks take up a very small amount of room. The quiet beach argument is an argument for the waterpark. Not against it.Well and plenty of families who would rather have a quiet natural beach and not chase their kids around a concrete pool complex or water park. And/or who feel the the water slides on the ship are enough for their teens.
You could make the same argument for anything. There are some people who are turned off of disney because it doesn’t have a drinks package or casino and others who prefer disney because of that. Different cruise lines appeal to different sets of people.
Nope. I don't really care what kids want.and once again shouldnt it be about what the kids want?
lets frame it another way. Would you rather have all the kids surrounding you on the beach screaming and fighting with each other or would you rather a large share of them were off somewhere else out of view and earsight leaving you to the serenity of a tropical beach?Nope. I don't really care what kids want.
People are far more likely to drown in the ocean than a pool. a pool makes people more safe if the alternative is to only swim in the ocean. And I know you aren’t kidding. Couldn‘t help laughing.
I state I don’t want the pool - but find the pools at the resorts nice, even the Budget resorts with lots of kids.
It is the idea of swim-up bars, music, and the “party-like pool atmosphere” that creates a reaction in me. It’s possible they could put in a pool and still maintain the Disney cruise experience many of us prefer - and show by selecting Disney over Royal. It’s not just the feeling of nickel and diming, it is an environment of party.
… But, also, let’s look at an unspoken factor here: safety. There have been drowning incidents on the ships. Lifeguards weren’t on the ships. Newer cruisers may not realize this. Those little pools. But if you get to a certain capacity point, you cant see everyone. I imagine this topic was reviewed by the lawyers ad nauseum. I’m pretty sure Disney has paid a LOT of money to families to keep a lid on this.
Honestly? Kids are going to do whatever kids do, no matter what I prefer. But, there's already an adult-only beach that keeps them away.lets frame it another way. Would you rather have all the kids surrounding you on the beach screaming and fighting with each other or would you rather a large share of them were off somewhere else out of view and earsight leaving you to the serenity of a tropical beach?
Which is exactly the point we are making as to why royal is not disney plus a pool.Once they choose Royal and have to pay for each different activity at their private island they might change their minds.
I agree, RCCL did such a great job with their water park on their island. It would be awesome to see DCL add something similar, even if it was an extra cost like RCCL.The lack of waterslides is a much bigger problem.

I don't understand this comment...you make it sound like Royal is the only one that charges extra for things on their island. For the record, Royal charges for 3 things...Waterpark, hot air balloon, and zip line....none of which Disney has.Once they choose Royal and have to pay for each different activity at their private island they might change their minds.
