Thanks for all the guidance  . I am applying for the Chase business card tonight and I want to get it right. I have an actual job as does my husband with a good household income. Then I have my ebay side business with the $25k gross. I don't have an EIN (although I should go ahead and get one) so will apply with SSN. Should I use: Household income, my job income, only my ebay income?

On biz card apps, they ask for your business revenue in one section, and then total gross income in another. So you would put $25k for the revenue and then total household income for gross income.

Edit: Man, people here are fast w/ responses! Either that, or I'm just a super slow typer. There were already two answers before I finished typing and posting mine.

Applied and this is what I got:

Thank you for your request.

We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision as soon as possible.

Thank you for choosing the Chase Ink Business Preferred.

Is this where there is a phone number I call to check status or do I just wait it out? Since it's a business card, I don't think it will show in my CSR account.

My DH just got the CIP a little bit ago. He called the 800 number at 432-3117 for the automated response line. The first call said 30 days. The second call about 12 hrs later said he was approved.

For business income use your eBay income...they will later ask for household income....put total income...you and DH

Lol and I’m super slow today....see you applied :tinker:For approval

Use your household income and there will be a spot for business income. Don't forget to use your own name and not an Ebay name. Wow, what do you sell?

I sell used clothes and whatever else I come across at thrift shops. I've always loved garage sales but I had to stop going because things just didn't fit in my house plus how much interesting stuff do I really need? This hobby lets me find interesting stuff and rescue it for someone else to enjoy. That $25k translates to about $9-10k net :) so not as glamorous. I need to work on getting that net number higher and that business card might actually help with improving my sourcing.

That is amazing!! I wish I could do that!

I think most of our hospitals are only wanting BSN now too. She is somewhat interested in OR. But again, she was told it’s stressful so I think that turned her off a bit. She loves kids. Has always had a passion for kids so peds is a natural fit for her. She was a ‘sick kid’ herself and going through that made her want to help sick kids.

My sister is a nurse in the OR at an amazing teaching/research hospital in our city. She went to undergrad as pre-nursing but the school only took 25% into year 2. She ended up with a Bachelor's of Science in another field. She went on to an accelerated Masters of Nursing program where she was then able to get her "RN" along with her Masters, so she got what she wanted in the long run, just another 15 months of school, and now works where she got her Master's.

She is SUPER stressed out, but that's mostly because they have staffing issues and has to work and take call all the time. However, the thought of her working in a doctor office sounds boring to her. She did say that community hospital OR's are a lot different than big teaching/research hospitals ORs and that's not something she's interested in either. So, bottom line, she's stressed, but doesn't want to do anything else right now.

The hardest thing for my sister when she was starting out was the emotional aspect of it all. Knowing someone had a terminal illness and nothing could be done, or having to perform open-heart surgery on a newborn......this is why I couldn't ever do what these awesome people do. I would be a sobbing mess. However, she needed to go through that in order to get better at her job. Now everyone is a "case" and not a person, so that she can do her job well and not get emotionally attached.

Good luck to your DD!

My DDs work at an upscale consignment store and they say quite a few of their consignors do that. I keep thinking I should do it, seems easier than ebay, no mailing or listing, but probably don't make as much since the shop gets some. But I am not of the "upscale" style. lol So I am not sure I would now what would sell or not.

No I was talking about BOA’s new thing where you can pick your category for 3% each month. I’m getting a savings account with them and I see you can get an extra 10% if you redeem your rewards in an account.
BOA offers? If it is, BOA offers is using the same company as chase offers which should work on gift cards... however i do have 1 that didnt code so theres that. Also, the stores may not also accept the transaction either... i have walgreens around me with signs that say gift card is cash purchases only... the other store which had allowed, a cashier didnt allow me to buy gift cards with a credit card even though their register will allow the transaction.

Couldn't help it and called the number. It said 2 weeks which from my research seems like a good sign. Fingers crossed.

PM if you want any encouragement. I'm a normal person with a family and a regular job :) and do this mostly after dinner from my couch.

2 weeks is good. just wait a day or 2.
there is a very slight chance thats it will turn 7-10 days, if it does, its most likely verification. but mine turned 2 weeks within an hour and i got approve 28 hours later.

Yay! It's a good sign, in my limited experience. And wow! I'm really impressed at your EBay business. I need to do something like this so we have some extra money for the fun stuff (like traveling).

So I see there are a few of you in Nursing. DD17 is considering going to college to for RN. Seems like it is a good field - they seem to always need nurses... Any input would be great.

Now see I have a very different experience living in MA and as an RN unlike @disneymagicgirl. First off I recommend a BSN because that’s what a lot of the top hospitals require now (I have mine). I’ve been a nurse 20 years and at the top children’s hospital
in the country for the past 12. I work part time but if I worked fulltime I’d make close to 200K/year. All my friends that are nurses are still working (and many the breadwinners) and have a variety of amazing different jobs. In the Pacu, OR, Er, home care, school, lactation specialist. There are so many avenues to go that it’s hard to not find something that works for you.
I work on a very sad unit. There is burnout. Sure there are long shifts. You have to earn your stripes. It’s not for the faint of heart. I work with kids that die on a regular basis. It’s not for everyone. It shapes your outlook on life and i never take a thing for granted. There is something so sacred that comes with meeting a complete stranger and helping them in there worst moments.

I live in very rural area graduated from community college with my RN 30 years ago. My first 9 years were in our small pediatric unit, then I went to OB. When I started on OB I loved it so much I couldn’t believe I got paid for it. I can’t imagine wanting to do anything else. Labor and delivery is mentally and emotionally tiring but incredibly satisfying. Must of the time you get to share a day with someone that will be the best day in their life.
@kidsfirsttrip I commend you. I don’t think I could do what you do.

That's really great! I wish I had that drive! I do enjoy garage-saling...

I came here just to post that my 100K MR have posted from my Amex Plat. I don't know if I want to :yay: or  that I was able to make spend in only two months. I was shocked that they posted with the $550 in the figure. I thought that didn't count toward MSR.

Sooooo...onto the next!

I know my questions about next card, and downgrading are approximately 1,004,000 pages ago since I asked on Monday, but since is it my 2 year anniversary of my CSR app, does it fall off today, or after statement close? DH also has a CSR. I think I am going to downgrade to the CFU.

Am I at 4/24 or 5/24 or neither:
1/17: CSR
7/17: Disney Visa
3/18: IHG
7/18: CIP
11/18: Amex Plat

Writing all of that out kind of makes me :sad2:, but I know that I am comparing peanuts to lots of others.
Just a double check...did you spend another $550 to account for that AF after the points posted? I wouldn't let that go - even though it "counted" towards the MSR, make sure you hit the full number without the AF so the AMEX RAT doesn't come after you in the night!! :)

If you remember, use a DISchurner link and make sure you let that person know via PM so they can thank you :)

Guys I lived. I made it through hell week. My massive event today went off without a hitch. The CEO was smiling a lot so that's about as good as you can ask for these days I'd say. :grouphug:

I ended up taking a nap as predicted and feel asleep HARD for almost two hours. I haven't been able to sleep much all week from worry. :faint:

I will spend the weekend cleaning my house that was neglected due to work and resting. We are due for snow tomorrow (gag) so I have an excuse to stay in.

Now I need to read back many pages here and catch up on r/churning too.

I saw the new Citi card is live. I need to catch up on their rules - seems like the Premier is the no brainer to sign up for and no blow a TYP slot on the new card but looking down the line, the new one would be a great product change card to avoid an annual fee, yes?

I have never held a TYP earning card. So I would say:

Now: sign up for Premier
24 months: downgrade to new Citi Rewards + yes?

This means I would pay the $95 AF one time.

DH is locked out of Citi TYP until December 29th of this year.

...off to read!

Is the Landry's multi-branded gift card on Amazon able to be used at Yak and Yeti? I'm seeing a lot of restaurants listed on the card, but not specifically Yak and Yeti.

Like @disneymagicgirl I have been a RN since 2008 and my experience is similar to hers. The positives I still see are yes you will always be able to find a job and it is great to work part time. But unfortunately it seems like many nurses I work with and know don't work full time because it is so stressful. You can make a decent living, but when you factor in having to work weekends/holidays there are many other careers that could be better. I do think being young when you are starting makes a difference as you can put in the time specializing in something that you love in the field of nursing. There is a wide variety of things you can do as an RN. I have only worked in long term care because my primary focus was my kids and family, and I make only a little bit more then what I did when I was a waitress.

The Prestige is supposed to be relaunched this month. Do you think there's a chance the bonus will make you want to choose it over the Premier? AF is very high though.

I think the downgrade to Rewards+ is a great idea. I plan to do that with my Premier when the AF hits in a year, unless there's a retention offer. The AF is actually waived the first year. There was a 60,000 TY offer, but looks like it may have expired.

If you decide to apply, you should check if your DH's account has a referral offer (possible pop-up or e-mail). I kept checking, but never got it (maybe my account is too new).
