I just saw on FM blog that there is a targeted 200K MR Biz Plat NLL + Biz Checking offer. It's 150K MR for $15K MSR + 30K MR for enrolling in Biz checking + 20K MR for doing both. Yesterday I was trying to apply through the email I got back in August for the 150K MR offer but it wasn't showing as available anymore even though the expiry date wasn't until Dec sometime. After reading FM, I checked my email and that new offer had been sent to me last night. Hope others got that email too.

Targeted for the huge 200k MR NLL biz plat + checking combo. Decisions. 15k is a big spend when I can't use it for property taxes.

DH and I were both targeted too, but we both recently opened the Biz Checking. Sad to miss out.

DH got that offer. I was going to do the 30k+10k offer that came with his biz gold, so glad I didn't do that yet. Though I was planning to get the biz plat instead of him so both of us have Amex spend and hopefully help with pop-up land. I just clicked on an old biz plat e-mail offer like you did, hope that triggers it for me.

Chase Southwest support links are updated to show the 75kRR SUB for $3,000 MSR in 3 months. I believe someone else mentioned the Inks are also showing the 90kUR SUBS for $6,000 MSR in 3 months.

Please consider using a support link over at DISchurners to support this great community who provides invaluable knowledge. I'm incredibly grateful for the tidbits I learn each day. Thanks y'all.
Yes the ink support links now show the 90k UR offer….
Also the CSR support links are for the 80k URs after spending $4,000

2 for 2 Yesterday.

I applied for SW Performance Biz - instant approval. 1st step for CP. Will probably just wait until January and Pay DD's Tuition with this.

I applied for CIU for DH Yesterday. Was a little worried as he already had 4 Biz Cards, with 2 Ink cards from this year. Not instant approval. But looked a few hours later and the new card was in his account. Only $3500 Credit Limit - so had them move some credit from one of the other cards. Will use this card on my upcoming cruise in December. I can cash out money in the casino that will get billed to the card. So, can help make the spend that way.

Also was able to refer each other on each card- so an extra 20,000 SW Points and UR's.

Still have about $2000 for spend on my US Bank Biz Leverage.

I feel like sometimes there are no cards I want at the moment and then other times I want all the cards...

Got my Universal Japan Express Pass. Our dates aren't released on the English site yet, so tried to use the Japanese site. First the drop down time selection menu wasn't working, then when I finally got it to work, my Amex failed. Same Amex that I used to buy the discount entry tickets from the Japanese site. I used the temporary number before, but have the physical card now. Not sure if that made a difference or if it was the different browser.

Gave up and used Klook instead. But you can't choose your times on Klook and ended up with 6 pm entry for Nintendo World, which isn't ideal. It tracked on Top Cashback at 2.1% for special activities. There's also a $4 coupon on TDRExplorer, but I didn't want to chance messing up the cashback, especially when I thought I might get 5.25%.

The USJ Express Passes come with specific rides and there are so many options that I had to make a spreadsheet to decide lol. The Japanese site has some options that aren't on the English site, like the Premium one that comes with 13 passes. I ended up with the Flying Dinosaur 7 (which is on the English site). It covers all my priorities (rides the US doesn't have) except for Space Fantasy and Jujutsu Kaisen (limited time 4D movie that DS wants to see).

Debating if I want to add a second day and buy a 4 ride Express Pass. They ended up more expensive than I expected from past dates. But discount entry ticket + Express Pass 7 comes out to about a peak base WDW ticket. Makes me feel better when I think about it like that lol.

I feel you on this. I still don't have flights home yet bc they are so expensive. I'm still holding out hope that the SW flight prices will drop and because we have companion pass. It's the whole reason we booked Costa Rica specifically because I have a goal to make good use of our two CPs. I recently considered booking United- I think there were good nonstop options to LIR-ORD for 40k.

Are you willing to give up a day or stay a day longer if AA could move you to a nonstop flight on another day?
We'll be at Manuel Antonio so better to depart SJO but United non stop is 70k miles pp, 210 for 3 of us and I'd have to use URs, no United miles at present. LIR to ORD also looks to be 70k and with a 1 pm flights we'd be leaving the resort at around 5 am.
I'm hoping for SW too. Even at 50k pp, with CP we only pay 2.
At this point, there are no good options, just varying degrees of bad.
How long do I have to rebook with AA for free before they assume I'm just keeping the crap flight they assigned?

Thank you for the details. This is very helpful to those of us going soon.

Is there a video that explains how to buy tickets on the Japanese site? Or a website that helps with that?

Was awake for 90 minutes at 1:30 am, with not one, not two, but three beeping smoke detectors. Then my phone rang at 3:59, my son has a kidney stone and needed to go the hospital. He is getting a stent and then will need surgery in a few week. This is on topic, because on the way there he says he has plenty in his HSA to cover his max out of pocket, but he wasn't sure you use the HSA. I told him you pay with a rewards card (he has a few already, he knows the drill) and then you get paid back. Then I said, with this bill, it's time for you to open a new card LOL!
I'd love to support him for a CIC but not sure he has anything that is a "business". I don't think he has ever sold anything online.

I'm trying to decide between two options -

1. Have DH refer me to CSR - we'd get 90,000 UR including referral points. He could then downgrade his CSR and I could refer him (I think??) for another 90,000 UR. We would have an $8,000 MSR to get to. Problem with that is that I'm not 90 days out on last Chase card until toward the end of the this month.

2. I would refer DH to a Chase biz card for 110,000 UR including referral points. That would be a $6,000 spend and I guess I could then do the above after I am 90 days out. I keep wondering how we will meet the spends, but somehow we always do with room to spare lol.

The other "kink" in this is that DH's CSR annual fee just posted on November 1st. When I look at his tracker to use the $300 credit, is says it will be available after his December statement processes. Is that correct? His statement closes on the 20th of each month, so he'll have a statement on 11/20 and I'm hoping it will be available then to use the credit and then downgrade before the 30 days is up in order to get the annual fee refunded.

Me:
11/13/2020 AmEx Platinum Personal
01/01/2021 Hilton Biz - AmEx
01/25/2022 Chase CIC
04/05/2022 AmEx Gold Personal
08/23/2022 Chase CIU (from Tom's referral)

DH:
12/13/2020 AmEx Platinum Personal
10/19/2021 SW Business Performance
01/12/2022 SW Personal Premier
03/29/2022 CIC
05/02/2022 AmEx Gold Personal
07/26/2022 CIC (from Becky's referral)

So, I'm 2/24 and DH is 3/24 if I have it figured right.

Thanks for any input!

I'm so sorry about your son's illness but you're describing exactly what I've done with bills. New card, put everything on it, reimburse from HSA. Our HSA is easy reimbursement, all done online, no real documentation needed. I know some are not that easy. My sister needs to provide multiple pieces of documentation sent by snail mail and even then I think she's had to resubmit multiple times. Not sure why they make it so hard, it's your money in the first place.

I did the same, 3 years ago when dh was hospitalized for a kidney stone. See a pattern here LOL?
Mine is incredibly easy, I don't have to submit anything, it gets all my EOBs automatically and I just push a button. He has no idea how his works. Now what card do I tell him to get...

I used translate and just poked around. I did come across a blog post after I did it, but it's from 2021 and some of the screens look different from what I remember seeing. Probably still helpful though. Link They also say to use your hotel address, so that made me feel better about doing that. They say to use hotel phone number too, but it book my US number with a 1 in front.

The Club registration has out of county in the drop down and took my US address. When I bought a ticket, I had to use a Japan address. Some warnings showed under my name in English, but it still went through. I used the same Katakana translator that the blog post has (first thing that comes up in a Google search lol).

The time selection was very confusing to me when it didn't work. Because the time slots didn't show up, I thought that I had to click the button below it that shows all the times that are possible. So if you don't see any times displayed in the drop down, that means it didn't work.

Tickets are usually released 2 months in advance, but for some reason January ones were held until yesterday. That might have something to do with why the English site is delayed. So maybe you won't need to use the Japanese site. I meant to stalk, but got busy. It didn't release at midnight Japan time. When I checked again at 10 am Japan time, it was already there. I don't think it runs out that fast, but I'm just obsessive lol. Good luck with it all!

You can definitely send him a support(the Disboards don’t like the R word ) link for a CSR once you get one ….I’d probably go that route to reset the 48 month window.
If it says his $300 travel credit reset after his statement in December…that would be after 12/20…if he’s downgrading after using it then, Chase will still reimburse part of the annual fee

With option 1: Not sure if your DH got his CSR when it first came out (around 2016), but those travel credits reset near each calendar year, or when the statement closed in Dec. As someone said, if you PC that card, you'll get a prorated annual refund. That would probably work out better since you want the card to stay open for the support points to post (someone else can chime in if you PC the card if the support points will still post since it keeps the same acct number?)

I'd be getting my spreadsheet calculations out to figure this one out, personally. You get a ton of UR with option 1, but you also have annual fees and you use up 2 5/24 slots (one each). With option 2, no AFs and doesn't count towards 5/24, plus this is a really rare deal.

Okay, so feeling some real burnout from booking large group travel. People canceling last minute, lack of responses to information/decision texts (even just an occassional "Hey, thanks"), etc.

And some real mom burnout, lol. She saw a video of some outdated flooding in Venice and bought spring rain boots/galoshes. We are going in November. She has terrible feet but she plans to wear these spring rain boots through multiple airports and layovers on our 20ish hour journey, door to door. :confused3 And they've solved their Acqua Alta flooding problem with a multi-billion dollar barrier device that prevents flooding, but that won't deter her. By golly, she spent $16 dollars on these boots and this is the hill she'll die on. :rotfl2:

Luggage:
"Hey Mom, if you bring that 24" luggage, they might tell you you have to check it, which is fine, but just know there's been a lot of issues with checked luggage lately."
"But Southwest let's me carry it on..."
"Mom, are you flying Southwest to Italy?"

Wardrobe:
My mom: Do you think these leggings are too thin?
Me: What about a base layer underneath?
Mom: Yeah, I'll probably bring some nylons.
Me: 🤣
Mom: They're very insulating. Football players used to wear them.
Me: Sigh

Remember that rule about not discussing politics or religion? I feel like ours needs to be no discussion luggage, weather or wardrobe.

OMG, I've been trying to get DH and our 2 girls (12&15) to figure out what they are packing to Paris and they have no interest in listening to me.
It's going to be cold, windy and rainy. Do they care? Nope. The girls will probably pack leggins and little tank top. DH will probably pack a light coat. I guess we'll end up having to shop while we are there, but since the dollar has started falling I'm not looking forward to it.
