From freezing to sweating, on a daily basis! A December Walt Disney World report

Grrrrr! Apparently, with the old version of the Flickr app for my phone, I could upload videos as well as photos from my phone to the Flickr website (which I use as my hosting site, as there is 1 Terabyte available per user to store media, and no bandwidth limit) but apparently an 'upgrade' removed the ability to upload videos. When I am home, I am going to transfer the video to my home computer, and I know I can upload videos from there to Flickr.

It's possible the video file may be to big for flikr. I think they have a limit on the size of videos

No, it's the actual Flickr app for my phone - it used to let you select videos as well as photos, now it only lets you select photos.

It might be too big a file for the app to upload. You could try connecting your phone to a computer, put int into a disk drive mode and using flikr to upload it from it.

Well, I uploaded the videos successfully to Flickr, but I have not been able to figure out how to link to individual videos. Therefore, I am providing a link to the Disney trip set in Flickr and you will have to scroll down to the bottom to see the videos of the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights.

I plan to make an entry about the ending of my day at Hollywood Studios, and a first entry about my day at the Magic Kingdom, later today.

After seeing the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, I decided to take a walk over to the Big Hat, and, seeing that the line for the Great Movie Ride was nonexistent, I decided to go on it. Since they don't allow flash photography, and my point 'n' shoot has not had good luck with low light conditions (guess I should read the camera manual.), I am only sharing the shots that came out halfway-decent.

I only took a few quick shots on the way in as there was no line.

The ride vehicle was about half full. A moment after I got in and the doors were closed, we were off on our trip into the movies!

Mary Poppins:

You can sort of make out from this picture that we got the gangster moll hijacking our vehicle.

That was the last useable picture I took on that ride.

After this, I walked by the Big Hat and Mulch, Sweat & Shears were playing a concert.

After that, I headed out of the park. On my way out, I got a couple of shots of the tree lit up at night.

I stopped off at Wendy's to pick up some dinner, and watched some TV before going to bed.

The next morning, I got ready to go, and was out the door by 7:30 as I knew I had to park, make my way to the TTC, then choose a form of transportation to the Magic Kingdom and get there before the opening ceremony.

At the Transportation and Ticketing Center, I took a picture of a revolving Mickey topiary:

I saw that the General Joe Potter was at the dock, and there was not a big crowd of people waiting to board, so I decided to take this means of transportation to the Magic Kingdom, as I find it more scenic.

There were some noisy birds that hitched a ride on top of the pilothouse sign:

The excitement level increased with our proximity to the Magic Kingdom dock:

I headed for the entrance gate:

I took some pictures of the Main Street Station view, but all my wide shots are of other groups, as I was by myself.:headache:

But when I zoomed in, I was able to cut out the other people. :thumbsup2

Next: Opening ceremony and dashing to New Fantasyland!

I chose the rightside tunnel to get in line by:
12107072815_a0f74f1a05_b_d.jpg

I only took one picture of the opening ceremony, as I wasn't in the best spot to take photos:
12107468374_6345646256_b_d.jpg

I headed over to Fantasyland, to go to the New Fantasyland area, but I and the vanguard of people with me, were a few minutes too early to go into Fantasyland; they held us at the end of the bridge from the rose gardens right by the Brave character meet area, then let us through.

I decided to go to Ariel's Grotto first. The sign said there was a 15 minute wait, but there was really no wait.

Here's my picture with Ariel in her grotto:

There was a refreshment stand across from Voyage of the Little Mermaid that I decided to take a picture of. I didn't notice it at the time, but I guess the men on the roof of the building are construction workers.

I then headed over to Storybook Circus:

I took this picture of the outside of Big Top Souvenirs at this point. I did not go inside until later.

I then decided to go on Dumbo:

I then decided to meet a few more characters.

Next: A few character meets in Fantasyland

After riding Dumbo, I checked the times guide and saw that the character meet time for Merida, from 'Brave', had just started, so I headed over there.
The line wasn't too long.

When it was my turn to meet Merida, I asked her what mischief her brothers had gotten into this week, and she said they had just gone swimming in Cinderella's castle moat. She said her father had found the whole thing funny, but her mother was mad.

After walking out of there, I saw that Alice and the White Rabbit were greeting people over by the Mad Tea Party, so I headed over there. Just as I was coming up to the front of the line, the White Rabbit was going to go on a five minute break, but I had my heart set on meeting both of them, so the cast member suggested I jump to the back of the line (there were six or seven people behind me) and by the time I got to the front again, the White Rabbit would be back. Sure enough, when I got to the front of the line, he was back!

I then decided to have even more character interaction, and headed over to Pete's Sideshow to meet Daredevil Goofy and Snake Charmer Donald.

Goofy's motorcycle had just crashed, so I asked what happened, and he gestured wildly, which his handler interpreted as, "Donald's snakes hypnotized him and made him crash." I asked Donald about this when I posed with him, and he made motions that his handler interpreted as "No, Goofy's just looking for a scapegoat."

The exit of Pete's Sideshow dumps you into Big Top Souvenirs. I decided to look around and take a bunch of pictures:

I know that's a circus bear, but it reminds me of the bears from the cartoon where all the park bears are forced by the park ranger to clean up the trash ("First you take a rag, put it in the bag, bump-bump-bump").

Looks like a good ending to the night.

Looks like a fun day so far at MK.

I saw that the queue on Haunted Mansion Standby line was 10 minutes, so I decided to go on. ...Oh, who am I kidding, I probably would have gone on if it was triple that! In any case, it would have been less than that, if I had not done all the hands-on stuff in the queue. As it is, the doors were open to the "stretching room" when I got to it.

After riding through the house of happy haunts, and declining the invitation to join them on a more permanent basis, I decided to take a cruise on the Liberty Belle.

Next: A Cruise on the Liberty Belle

This chapter will be mostly pictures, as I feel they speak for themselves...

I decided to take a cruise on the Liberty Belle, as I am a big fan of all types of Disney transportation, as well as the attendant theming.

I didn't have more than 10 minutes to wait for the boat after I got to the dock.
As soon as we boarded, I made a beeline for the top deck and started snapping pictures.
