Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I will be heading to AKL club level friday, my mom does not want to do online checking, do we stand in the normal check in line or is there another line we get to go into since we are club level. Thanks.

In a perfect world, someone will be waiting for you out front when you arrive that can escort you up to the CL lounge for check-in. If someone isn’t there, look around for any CM with an iPad or manager looking type and tell them you’re checking in club level. If that fails, you can go to the elevators and see if by chance your MBs will work to access the 6th floor, but chances are they won’t. The last remaining option would be to check-in at the front desk.

FWIW, doing online check-in doesn’t prevent you from also checking-in in person at the resort. Frankly I usually do both.

Hope that helps!

Why does she not want to do online checkin?

I have always used the regular line when checking in for CL before online checkin was available. I always do online checkin now, and if I don't like my room location, I stop by at guest services before going to the room. (Don't even open the door. They want the room untouched for whoever gets that room.)

Once you get to the lounge area, you can talk to one of the CMs who can get you an arrival beer or wine and answer any questions you might have.

I am trying to think of a nice way of saying cause she is old... but cannot think of any other way. She does not trust the online system and has always checked and in person and will not do it any other way even if I am the one doing it... we have had this "discussion" at length and I cannot get her to change her mind, lol. So I am just rolling with it.

We were lucky enough to book CL at AKL using DVC points, but only for one day. We'd love to use it as our "no-park" day and relax in the lounge, but I'm not sure when they start and stop letting you use the lounge. Is club access bound by check-in (11 AM), check-out (4 PM) times?

In other words, should we not go into the parks on check in day, or check out day?

Well thats honestly up to you. You can check in and get access to the lounge as early as 6am, since the DVC rooms stay at 100% capacity you're room most likely will not be available until 4pm. And as others have said, you will have full access to the lounge until midnight on check out day, yes even if you are checked into a different resort. So you essentially have full access to the lounge for 2 days, even though you are just staying there 1 night.

Stayed at WL CL last week for 4 nights. IT FELT SO GOOD TO BE BACK 👏 My first post-reopening CL stay. I’ve done some trips to Disney and some local type trips over Covid and this was the first hotel I did not once get told “because of Covid we can’t X,Y,Z…” It was really, really nice.

As others have mentioned full housekeeping everyday. No turndown. Slippers and robes. Slippers were a nice touch since they switched to the hard floors. LOVE the remodel. They fixed everything I didn’t like about the old rooms. Still a tight fit if you have a fam of 4 I think, I was just 2. The shower was especially nicely done. Tile that looked like wood gave it a really elegant feel! The rain shower was pretty great too 😂

On to CL stuff!

Staff were great. I was traveling with someone who has a non-serious allergy to gluten and dairy but she tried to ignore it this trip (it ultimately ended unfortunately for her 🙄 we all gotta learn the hard way sometimes) so I can’t comment much on their allergy friendly options. They had gluten free bread and bagels I know at least that much.

Previously I felt like a bother asking CMs for wine or water when they weren’t standing in the service area but after reporting that here on my 2019 trip people said I could just ask at the concierge desk. Did that this trip and had no issues at all, they were always happy to help!

Food was ok. I don’t like whatever they’re using for eggs. I’m a big fan of the bacon & smoked salmon at breakfast alas those was only 2/4 mornings. I found the evening dishes to be rather oily. Ribs were ok but bison chili and Mac and cheese are a couple really oily dishes that stick in my mind. I ate the chili but I passed on the Mac (went to get some and I could have spooned a serving spoon size spoonful of oil out of the middle, idk what was going on there!). So I found evening stuff to be a nice appetizer but definitely no dinners were made off it. Oh!! They had the DIY trail mix! So the most important snack of unlimited goldfish was covered 🥰 Mimosas are available on request in the morning. Mini water bottles are by request only but they are happy to get them for you.

Loved our CL room! We had booked standard but got a nice view of MK and the monorail and the MK fireworks. It was the most beautiful view I’ve ever had in a room (never done a theme park view). We even cancelled our rose and crown we liked the view so much, the idea of enjoying some fireworks and hitting the bed was far superior to EP fireworks and then fighting the crowds.

The concierge helped me book another night when United cancelled our flight home. I was able to sit there and sip my bubbly (I give the impression I was cool but I can assure you it was 9:40 pm and I was in a complete panic 😬) while she called whoever she needed to call to find if we could extend at WL and what the prices were. She gave me the prices for standard and CL. Told me we had CL access all day on checkout day so I appreciated she didn’t hide that fact and it made that call easy. Their policy is rack rate standard room price but they upgraded me to a nature view for that night so we had to change rooms but we even scored a nice views of the high fireworks and didn’t have to change resorts.

ETA: went back and skimmed Post 1 here of @GADisneyDad14 ‘s 2019 review of WL CL. They are running fewer items. I thought three options made the DIY trail mix, wowza was I wrong! Offerings are definitely less than back in 2019 but still they did a good job with what they had.

It's her vacation too, and if she wants to use a real human being, at this price, she should.
GADisneyDad's post shows how you can skirt the wrong line.
When we went to the Contemporary in 2018, I was assured someone would meet us at the entrance, but no one was there. I was so sad! But then as Dad said, I found a CM with an ipad, explained that we were CL, and we were whisked away to the 12th floor and presented to the concierge. Who was like a fairy godmother!

Good Morning,

I swear in the past signature services could take resort payments. I tried last week and they told me I had to go through the reservation line. Is this a change or am I remembering incorrectly?

TIA
I know that the concierge was able to take our final payment in person, but that was a while ago. We did not book a package, so after the deposit, we did not do any payments until we showed up.

Regarding checkin: A CL CM is not always available to take you to the lounge. We have had mixed results over the years. The only time someone was actually waiting for us with a sign was one time when we were upgraded at Poly in 2015. ymmv

So if you check in online, you can still talk to someone when you get there, but if it is super crowded, you can just go up to your room, where you should be able to then talk to a CL CM. They know who is arriving that day and will give you a little review.

On our October trip to CR for the 50th, we did online check in but I still stopped at the desk because I had some questions. He saw I was CL and said 'oh, you are CL, Parker can take you up to your room'. It was convenient because Parker was in the lobby at the time. I wouldn't have wanted to sit around waiting otherwise.

For the CTR 14th floor Tower room 1 bedroom suite are they only located at the very end of the building. I just looked at touring plans and they show the very last room at the end of the building. Is touring plans correct.

There are 5 1-BRs, 3 on the TPV side, 2 on the Bay Lake side. They are on each of the four “ends” plus one is about half way down the hall past the lounge on the on the northeast TPV side. I have a map that I can’t access at the moment but will post when I get a chance. Hope that helps!

Funny enough even though I did online check in and RPC was still closed when I stayed at GF last May, a CM still came by to walk me upstairs in the main building when I arrived. Mostly to explain the elevators, since the deluxe king rooms are a bit roundabout to get to from the lobby. It was much appreciated.

Thanks-trying to decide if CTR should be the resort for club level special celebration for my mom. She turns 80. She wants a resort club level we have not been too. CTR 14th floor is one of the resorts. Then WL and AK is the other 2. The big balcony looks so inviting at CTR.

There’s been rumors floating around that as of now, Disney only intends to bring back in-room dining to the GF (citing profitability). This obviously creates a permanent problem for the Poly Tonga suites - not even getting into the fact that resorts everywhere a fraction of the cost of a Deluxe offer room service.

Still a few months before our stay, I guess it’s getting to be that time to start making noise about Tonga. Unfortunately, they don’t tend to bring things back unless they have to...

@mystery222184 Take a look at my last few posts; they were about the same topic of the elimination of the free room service for the Tonga Suites.

Thus far, I've gotten nowhere with understanding whether this service will be brought back or if prices will be adjusted to reflect this major loss of benefit. I've spoken to a few people from DSS, an employee in reservations, and a higher up in reservations. I'm expecting a call back this week from another person with some "decision-making authority".

They've really dropped the ball on this one, in my opinion.

At the risk of some hyperbole, to me the 14th floor is a special place. The rooms are just so darn big and comfy, the recent renovations are really, really good (IMHO)... and unless you happen to overlap with a big crew in one of the other suites (which can happen), the lounge is usually quite peaceful. You can often be the only people there. Given the typical guest count to CM ratio, you also tend to get really good service and/or can have some fun chats with CMs if that's your thing. If you're going for special, to me Tower Club should be high on the list, in my opinion.

CR CL food/lounge offerings lately are perhaps sub-average compared to other CLs (although I might have said something similar pre-closure) and the reviews haven't been all that glowing, but to me CR's appeal has always been the CMs, vibe, and location even if the food offerings aren't necessarily my favorite.

I enjoyed your write-up... flashback to 2019 and all. :-)

Glad you had a good trip.

Thanks - I am pretty sure this is what I will go with.

Found the 14th floor map - see below. Hope that helps with my location description above. I'm a little partial to the Bay Lake view rooms since you have the lounge for a MK view fix and can save some money, but of course staying on the TPV side is awfully nice as well!

Agreed. Your posts got me digging a bit deeper, to then find out their current plans for in-room dining/Tonga. I’ll also be contacting them to express my frustration with Tonga. I don’t see them lowering pricing (anywhere), but enough pushback could change their mind here.

Post updates if you get any!
