Chunkymonkey and Chubbyhubby Feed the Force!! A May 2015 TR - Update 10/29 Trip Epilogue!

Well, I just spent the entire day at work reading this trip report (and the cruise report as well):rolleyes1- guess I didnt accomplish much work today...:scared:

Anyway I loved reading this- your pictures and writing style are great so detailed I feel like Im there! You and your sister are beautiful! I also started following you on Instagram. I hope thats not creepy.

I wanted to add that I was also at the Tanglewood performance of John Williams this year (went last year too!) Its so great. The music is incredible and I love the venue- music under the stars.

I look forward to reading the final posts!

Cindy~

Wow... That was a very productive morning! Love the Minnie ears with the pink dress. You and your sister have the cutest park outfits :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see how breakfast went at Be Our Guest. Our family dined there for lunch for the first time this past June and we LOVED it! We were able to score a table in the West Wing, and our DS was very much taken-in by the magic of the Beast's castle...so that made the experience even sweeter.

Thanks! We surprisingly did have a productive morning...I couldn't believe that the park was not that crowded yet. I guess no one wanted to wake up that early,

Thank you! We try to make an effort to wear something we don't mind being photographed in because otherwise we'd end up with hundreds of pictures where we go, "what were we thinking!?!" Trust me, we've learned from experience.

We love Be Our Guest! Stay tuned for breakfast!

I CAN FINALLY SEE YOUR PICTURES!!!! Lots of comments incoming!!!!

Yay and double yay!!

How have I never noticed this before? I love this! :cutie:

Me neither! I think it's new.

Dale was the BEST at GG when I went last year! He gave the warmest hugs, and kept pointing at my facepaint and making a big deal about it.

Aww so cute.

I was surprising disappointed by this salad. I mean, I was really there for the meats and sides anyhow, but after reading so many good reviews of this salad, I was underwhelmed! :confused3

Hmm, maybe they under-seasoned your salad. It happens and it's unfortunate. Maybe some dressing on the side would have helped. But yes everything else will have overshadowed the salad anyways!

Mmmm. I'm a protein and cards girl. I loooove these! :lovestruc

OMG probably some of my favorite rolls ever. *stuffs face with imaginary GG rolls*

You like big crops and you cannot lie? :bitelip:

And no other veggie can deny...:rotfl:

MEAT MEAT MEAT. Wait... Why is there no gravy on your turkey and stuffing? :confused3

Oh that's because we had a separate gravy boat just for the gravy (not pictured). We ordered extra gravy too. We can't get enough. Gravy gravy gravy!

I absolute HATE bell peppers of any color, I don't discriminate. I knew what to expect going into it, so I ordered my fish without the red stuff. I'm jealous, though! Mine was tilapia. I loooove mahi mahi! :lovestruc

LOL, I do tend to dislike all bell peppers but red most of all, I feel like it's the most offending bell. It's weird because I like hot peppers...just not sweet peppers. I had tilapia before. They were both good!

Yes, I had the same wonderful experience last year! ::yes::

Mmmmmmm. I hope the breakfast there is just as good!

Selfies with characters! Why have I never thought of this before? These are sooooo cuuuuuute!!! :goodvibes

I like selfies because then I only have to show my head and not my body. :lmao:

Bahahaha! I love this one so hard! I'm telling you, Dale is AWESOME!!! :thumbsup2

He is!! He was so fun!

I said almost the exact thing about this dessert... Cobbler NEEDS ice cream! The whipped cream is a sad substitute! :sad2:

Yeah I wonder why they don't do that. It LOOKS like ice cream so why not just make it ice cream!! It's quite deceiving!

This is a beautiful shot!!!

Thanks!! We got a great view that night.

Now dangit Su-Lynn, you can't be making me sit here at work watching these and crying at my desk!

I'm a perpetual masticator. :rotfl: But yeah, I just have to hear one Disney song and I'm all blue because I'm not at WDW...

Yaaaaaasssss! Love love love Mousegears!!! :thumbsup2

It's the most awesome store. Not only because it's in Epcot, but because it's just....Mousegears!

I so love me an empty bus. So peaceful! :-)

Yup! We feel so lucky when we catch one. Hehe.

You and your sister both look soooo cute! And I love that pink dress, and the ears really are just perfect with it! :cutie:

Thanks! It just worked out! I had no idea my sister even brought ears. She didn't wear them because she was too hot (and also because she didnt' want to mess up her hair).

How do you think I feel? :rotfl:
MK_TSFAIRIESBCHAR_7059268624.jpeg

Aww I think that's a really cute picture! Your Tinkerbell is bigger than my Tinkerbell! :lmao:

I love this one!!! Perfect! :goodvibes

Thanks!!

Crocodile faces!!! Chomp chomp!

LOL

It looks like your man is staring right down your dress... and happy about it. :rotfl:

Get your mind out of the...LOL!! :rotfl:

Yes, you two are so matchy and adorable!!! I love this!!!

I totally forgot that Minnie wears pink. Yes we do match, LOL.

All caught up! Sorry, I fell behind when the photos were missing. Loved your little mini-TR - sounds like a really fun weekend!

Glad you enjoyed Garden Grill. Yes, those character rotations are crazy fast there!

Interesting to hear about the morning of the 24 hour day, as I was just there for some of the late-night. Sounds like you got the better end of the deal and were able to accomplish quite a bit!

Finally caught up! Looks like you had a great time! I so need to see the butter knives you purchased on the cruise. I love LWTL too...may have to try Garden Grill next time.

Day 8 Part 2: Be Our Guest for Breakfast!

After we were able to do so much in the parks before 9:30am, we were happily heading to get some sustenance at Beast's castle. We were hungry! It was also really really hot at this point too. Like, we were sweating profusely so early in the morning just walking over from Dumbo to Beasts castle, I didn't know how I'd survive the day...then we'd have to get on a plane later, ugh I don't want to think about what a hot mess I'll be by the evening...

As we were walking by Gaston's Tavern, we saw a huge crowd and there were cameras and film crew there. We realized that there were some Disney Channel celebrities who were brought in for the 24 hour day. Here you may recognize the blonde actress who plays both twins in Liv and Maddie. I wasn't sure who the other girl is but I assume she's in another sitcom or something. It was funny because they were talking with Gaston, and he thought the film crew was there for him. :lmao:

Disney Channel Celebrities

I was so taken with their porcelain skin. It was so perfect looking. I would die for skin like that, or at least whatever makeup they were wearing. I wanted someone to cover them with a tarp for fear of their delicate skin shriveling in the sun. They also didn't seem to sweat in the 95+ degree weather, I therefore believe they are aliens.

"No, they are not here for you, Gaston" :rotfl:

We checked in at the podium out front and headed into the castle for breakfast! Sooooo thankful for the air-conditioning! Thanks Beast!

We had fun listening to the knights again. Some of them would doze off and we'd say "Wake Up!" and they would stutter, then another knight would chime in.

Even though we had an ADR, we still had to get on line to order food. I guess you could pre-order now but I am never sure what I want to eat sometimes until the very moment. I can hem and haw about a menu prior to the trip but sometimes I am just in a mood for something else, ya know?

It's such a pretty room, and it's well-lit too, no dim lighting to contend with when taking your food shots!

We sat and got our drinks from the self serve machine. Pretty soon our entrees came:

My sister and I both got the:

Open-Faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich
Poached Eggs, Applewood Bacon, Brie Cheese, and Arugula on a toasted Baguette served with Fresh Fruit

My sister LOVED this. It has all her favorite things, eggs, bacon, brie, baguette. She was all over it! She did not care for the arugula but I really liked it.
I too really enjoyed this dish. I poked the yolks of the eggs to have them ooze out a little bit as a sauce for the cheese, bacon and bread. It was awesome.

DH got the:

Eggs Florentine
Puff Pastry Shell filled with Scrambled Eggs, Cheese, and fresh Spinach served with Country Ham, Roasted Plum Tomatoes.

He thought it was pretty good. The eggs were cooked nicely in a soft scramble and served in a puff pastry shell. It was similar to what he had at Sci Fi dine in for breakfast but a lot simpler. I think this is the same puff pastry shell that they use for the seafood entree they have during dinner.

Here was our shared pastry platter:
Note this actually came at the same time as our entrees. We saw others get it beforehand but our sever kinda forgot. Sh was very was apologetic though.
It was ok since our food came our relatively quickly in any case.

The pastries were pretty standard, nothing to write home about but it was nice to have something sweet at breakfast, especially when you order savory entrees! I like having a balance of sweet and savory during breakfast as I usually can't make up my mind!

Overall, we had a positive impression of BoG breakast. I don't think it's a must do but I like having this option in MK. It is pricey for a quick service meal, but I like having the meal brought to us, and the setting can't be beat! It also includes a drink and the pastry platter so you're not just paying for your entree. My sister loved her breakfast entree though. It had all her favorite things on one plate! I think if we're back with her, she's definitely coming here for breakfast!

After we headed out we realized how much more crowded it was. There were people everywhere. Everyone was dressed up, which was fun to people watch. I should have taken some pictures but I wanted to be respectful. We had some time before our FP+ with Anna and Elsa and the 7DMT so we went on The Little Mermaid ride. Think the wait was about 30 minutes posted, but I don't think we waited that long.

Here's us in front of the ride!

It was really really hot at this point. We had some time to kill and we looked at the wait times for everything else and they were just kinda too long for my comfort.

My sister however, was determined to get one of her most elusive character pictures...Peter Pan. I dunno, his line was off the hook. Like, it was 20 minutes to his meeting time and the line was snaking around and it was in the HEAT. No thank you for me. Of course my sister decides to wait in the blazing hot sun, so I decided the next best thing is to take a break with a LeFou's Brew to cool down. I actually was nice and brought my sister a LeFou's brew while she was waiting.

I waited with her for about 5 minutes before I decided I couldn't wait in the heat any longer and went over to meet DH who was sitting in Pinocchio's Village Haus.

BTW, here's the MK guide for the 24 hour day!

Although she made everyone in her line jealous over her Lefou's Brew, she kept texting me about how hot she was. I told her she waited this long in the heat, and that she shouldn't back out at this point because it would have all been for naught. :lmao:So she stuck with waiting in line.

Her persistence paid off:

Now it was time to meet Anna and Elsa again! princess: Stay tuned for one of the best costumes we had ever seen, and it's not a cast member!

Coming up too...our last few hours at WDW! I couldn't believe our vacation was coming to an end!

Just read through your TR and I have to say, you all made the most of PP! Great character meets!

We live just north of Boston and wanted to get to the Museum of Science for the Pixar but we just never made it. I've wanted to get out to Great Barrington too but haven't. Your mini-TR was great to read!

:lmao:

I often think the same thing about people who look cute in cold weather - if your skin isn't turning red and your nose isn't running, you just may the stink-eye from me. >:(

Your BOG breakfast looks so good! I don't know that I've seen any pictures of the open-face sandwich... now I want one! Yum!

Your sister is dedicated to meeting characters! I'm sure the Le Fou's Brew helped. :-)

I can only imagine how hot Peter Pan must've been in those tights!! Talk about sweating! Breakfast looked yummy, yours especially....brie at breakfast? yes please!

We had fun listening to the knights again. Some of them would doze off and we'd say "Wake Up!" and they would stutter, then another knight would chime in.
How cool, I had no idea those guys talked. Guess I figured the snoring was us after waiting in line ; )

This looks and sounds delicious. Oozey eggs, brie, bread, and arugula. Yes please and thank you

Here was our shared pastry platter:
Note this actually came at the same time as our entrees. We saw others get it beforehand but our sever kinda forgot. Sh was very was apologetic though.
It was ok since our food came our relatively quickly in any case.
I still can't get over that they bring the same amount of pastries no matter how many guests are in the group.

Her persistence paid off:

That is some serious Peter Pan love and dedication to endure that wait and heat.

Thank you!! Yes we certainly got our money's worth of pictures! We had to since we pay so much for the Memory Maker!

Thanks! We love Boston and the Berkshires area!

Ha ha ha!!! That was awesome.
Disney trips are always said when they come to an end. But I look forward to your next TR. Thanks for sharing your AWESOME trip!!

Yeah his line...ridiculous.
Thanks for reading! It's quite sad this TR is almost over. But I have another trip to plan for! After this TR is done I can focus on that PTR.

:lmao:

I often think the same thing about people who look cute in cold weather - if your skin isn't turning red and your nose isn't running, you just may the stink-eye from me. >:(

I know...I understand that these celebrities have a trail of people doing their hair and makeup but the heat that day just made it impossible for anything to stay put. I am very envious. LOL

Your BOG breakfast looks so good! I don't know that I've seen any pictures of the open-face sandwich... now I want one! Yum!

It was surprisingly good! We enjoyed it. It was very nice to have breakfast at Beast's castle - it was calm and nice to eat in such a pretty room.

Your sister is dedicated to meeting characters! I'm sure the Le Fou's Brew helped. :-)

Yes, no doubt it did! She would have probably left the line after 30 minutes without the LeFou's brew!

I can only imagine how hot Peter Pan must've been in those tights!! Talk about sweating! Breakfast looked yummy, yours especially....brie at breakfast? yes please!

Imagine the characters who have to wear those thick furry costumes? Pooh and Tigger come to mind. Ugh they must be sweating buckets inside.
The brie sandwich was delicious! I loved that they had something like that at breakfast.

How cool, I had no idea those guys talked. Guess I figured the snoring was us after waiting in line ; )

I had eaten there twice before and had no clue either. But honestly this was the longest we had waited in line for the food.

This looks and sounds delicious. Oozey eggs, brie, bread, and arugula. Yes please and thank you

It was delicious! A great combination of flavors and just the right amount of food for breakfast.

I still can't get over that they bring the same amount of pastries no matter how many guests are in the group.

Oh I didn't realize they did that. I wonder if you could ask for more pastries if you were a larger party? It only seems fair.

That is some serious Peter Pan love and dedication to endure that wait and heat.

She has love for all characters!! Peter Pan was on her must do list because I don't think she's ever gotten his picture before.

Just read the whole trip report and loved it. We just got our confirmation for a Poly studio on rented points for April 2-13. So beyond excited. Your ticket discussion got me researching. I don't know if you can get tickets through work, but I signed up with Wildatwork.com since I own my own business as a graphic designer. The qualifications to sign up aren't too stringent. And they have 10-day park hoppers for almost $60 less than gate price. Much more than UT's discount. Just thought I'd mention. I've used them before for other discounts and they are great. I've never bought their WDW tickets though. Since they do charge $8 for shipping and can't do e-tickets, I'll probably go through step-mother's work as they've always had the same discounts when I've compared.

Can't wait to read the end.

Breakfast at Be Our Guest looks tasty!

Sorry it was so hot, but glad you found some A/C and LeFou's Brew!

Your sister is really determined to get those character pics to wait in that Peter Pan line!

Thanks and welcome!!

Renting points is so cool. I was so excited to get a reservation at my favorite resort. I thought it wouldn't happen because the costs were so high but renting points made it possible. I like that we have a split bath set up which is always convenient!

Thanks for the info on the tickets! I'll have to look into it. I don't think we get any discounts through work but so far Undercover Tourist seems to be the best. I will only need 7 day park hoppers on this trip. Your trip sounds like a blast! 10 day park hoppers - cool!

Yeah it was nice to take a break for breakfast. It felt like lunch because we had done so much at MK already!

The heat was crazy that day!!

She wouldn't be my sis without her insane love for character pics! LOL

FYI 7-day Hoppers are $383 plus the $9 shipping from Wildatwork.com. You'd be surprised who qualifies to open their own account and there's no verification process or anything. You should check the site if that price is good for you. Feel free to pm me if you want.

And yes, I'm looking forward to 2 showers, one with a sun shower, too. My son was bummed we weren't staying in a Nemo suite at AoA for the fold-down bed, so I'm keeping the one in the studio secret so he can be surprised. I didn't think we'd be able to afford to stay there especially because we couldn't book 11 months out and could not afford to go through Disney, but it seems availability for the studios is still pretty open.

Catching up on a few replies from a couple of posts back:

Better late than never. All caught up and following along.

Thanks for reading and welcome!

Cindy~

Thank you so much! Thanks for reading and for the kind comments!
Of course not! I love instagram and I think it's great!
Oh cool! Did you go to the one in Aug or the ones earlier? It was a great show even without him there. We love heading up there every year even if it's just for the weekend.

As you saw, we were able to do a lot! I hope GG breakfast is just as fun!

Finally caught up! Looks like you had a great time! I so need to see the butter knives you purchased on the cruise. I love LWTL too...may have to try Garden Grill next time.

Hi Lynn! The butter knife is the one in the middle. They look like paintbrushes! I love them.

Thanks! I'll have to do a price compare to see who has the best rates. I'll check out that site too, thanks!

I think you son will love the little fold down bed. We saw the same thing when we stayed at DVC in Aulani. It's a twin sized so not as big as the one at AoA (full sized) though but he doesn't need to know that :)
My sister slept on it and thought it was comfy so I'd assume the same for the twin fold down.

Ugh, just reading about how hot it was that day takes me back to our recent WDW vaca from June too! It would be great if there were some sort of outdoor cover to protect from the sun when waiting in lines to see characters. We waited in line for almost 30 minutes to see Pluto, at the front of MK. The sun was so powerful, and we were melting. Honestly, the pics came out awful, we looked like a hot mess express! Thankfully, I was able to salvage 1 photo by cropping it to feature just DS and Pluto -- so, like you said, the time spent would not be for naught... haha!

thank you for your trip report! we are having our first family disney trip in nov! your outfits are so cute! what kind of sandals do you have? i've been searching for some after having to toss my beloved sandals of many great years out. thanks!

Tanglewood, located in the town of Lenox in the Berkshire mountains, is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. If you love music and being outdoors, it's the perfect place to be. We went for the annual Film Night where they play scores from various films, both new and old.

This sounds like such a fun time! I love ochestral music, being the band geek that I am! I also love the outdoors!

The town of Lenox is rather ritzy with sprawling estates and fine hotels, but we stayed outside it in low-key Great Barrington, at this little place called the Briarcliff Motel. It really is just a roadside motel which the owners had spruced up and made more hip.

This place you stayed in looks super cool! I love the way breakfast looks and just the way the place is decorated is really neat!

I love fries so I appreciate a good twice-fried french fry

I love french fries too! When I was younger, my nick name was "French Fry"!

We hung around a little enjoying the glorious weather and views.

Beautiful!!

The encore was the Imperial March from Star Wars.

That would have been so awesome to hear live! We played it in Wind Ensemble when I was in High School and being in the brass section, it was really fun!

Everything was really tasty and delicious. It was seasoned well and all the meats/fish were cooked just right. Everything was served at the right temperature too...hot and fresh!

I need to get to GG! Everything I always see from there looks delicious, fresh, and just up my alley as far as food goes!

We bought a few last minute gifts and things then headed back to the buses. We really needed to sleep because the next day was our last day at WDW and it also happened to be the start of the 24 hour day at MK - opening at 6am! How early do we actually get there though?

I am super intrigued by the 24 hour day! We may be partaking in 2016.

We had fun listening to the knights again. Some of them would doze off and we'd say "Wake Up!" and they would stutter, then another knight would chime in.

I love the Knights! Oh My Disney! They are always coming up with some pretty neat "Hidden Gems!"
