Yeah his outfit was one of the most intricate and detailed costumes I've ever seen...and I go to NY Comic-con every year so I've seen all the cosplayers and know the amount of time they spend on them. But year, he probably couldn't wait to peel that costume off!

That Jack Sparrow cosplayer looks like a guy that we've seen at a con or two -- I bet it's the same guy. The only other Jack Sparrow I've ever seen that approaches that level of detail is one who works at the Renaissance festival near me. Super cool!

Funny! I'm actually headed to NY comic con this weekend. Maybe I'll see Jack Sparrow again! Actually there will probably be a few Jack Sparrows but as you said, this guy had an amazingly detailed costume, it would be hard to miss him!

Aren't they? I think they were just as awed as we were at his outfit. They kept asking him what his outfit was made of and pirates do. I think Elsa said he could raid all the ice she could make.

Real Life Update: New York Comic Con 2015!

This past weekend I was at New York Comic Con at the Javitz Center in New York city. I've attended NYCC almost every year for the past 8 years! It's grown into a huge event! I work a booth with my friends Ray and Dolston who co-own a company, Muteki Sales, where they sell Japanese toys, like Godzilla, Gundam, Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Power Rangers, etc. It's their biggest event of the year and we're happy to be attending and helping out my friends. There are a ton of Cosplayers, some with pretty amazing outfits, and of course lots of Star Wars representation. Here's some pictures from the 4-day event (I went to 3 out of the 4 days).

I heard a rumor that these were the original Lucas Film C3PO and R2D2 from the original trilogy. They caused quite a stir!

I don't cosplay, but here were some of my outfits for the time I wasn't wearing my Muteki Sales t-shirt and working the booth!

I even had light saber earrings! I didn't keep them on though as I am highly allergic to all sorts of metal in my ears so I can only wear earrings for half an hour at a time before they start irritating me. I tried the clear nail polish trick and in all honesty, it doesn't work that well on me. My earlobes are just so sensitive, which is sad because I love the way so many earrings look.

Anime Cosplay:

Fans of The Walking Dead may recognize the lovely, Lauren Cohen, who plays Maggie on the show. I love TWD series and I was excited to see her on the show floor without having to wait hours for a panel.

Star Wars characters. I really like the female Han. I'm thinking I should be a Han Solo for our cruise in Feb! I think it's because her outfit looks really comfortable and the easiest to put together.

Even thought I don't play Warcraft anymore, I'm pretty excited to see the movie!

This is just a smattering of the sights we saw at NY Comic Con this past weekend! We're so tired from it...we literally run on a few hours of sleep a night before having to wake up early and go to the Con for 10-12 hours, and then we had to pack everything up on Sunday night.
It's such a fun show though, and I'm really glad to be a part of it every year. Even though I don't keep up that much with video-game, pop-culture, it's amazing to see everyone's outfits! Plus, I get the majority of our Star Wars t-shirts here.
I'm sure you'll see a few during next year's trip!

The Rebels characters are Ahsoka Tano and Zed. Ahsoka was Anakin's padawan in the Clone Wars cartoons. She returns later in the Rebels series. Zed is one of the main characters in Rebels.

My husband's family is the opposite of yours- all boys. Mark's father is an only child. Mark has 2 brothers (all boys). The brothers have 3 boys and just one girl (and she is a tomboy).

Too funny about the celebrities at Magic Kingdom. I would not have recognized them at all. No Disney Channel for us since the days of Hannah Montana and The Suite Life with Zack and Cody.

I would love to have breakfast at Be Our Guest. The egg sandwich looked fantastic. What is the deal with the pastries? Are they included with your meal? They looked kind of "meh" to me but I prefer savory to sweet.

Great picture of your sister with Peter Pan. Good for her for waiting in line (Loved the "off the hook" commend).

We saw a Jack Sparrow when we were in Disneyland and I couldn't figure out if he worked there or was a guest. He was in a gift shop in Tomorrowland and I know at least in WDW, characters/CMs can't appear in other lands. It wasn't a special day when guests are permitted to wear Disney-related costumes. Do you know if the rules are different in Disneyland?

He was carrying a shopping bag and here he is either trading pins or handing them out to Cast Members.

I know, really amazing costumes. I don't know where anyone finds the time for this. I thought they were professional but in reality very few people can make a living being Cosplayers. But I guess it's their passion so they dedicate a lot of time for it...just how I am dedicated to the DIS and to planning our next trip...

The pastries are included in the price of your meal. I think it was about 22 dollars pp. It includes your entree, the pastry platter and a drink. It's a bit pricey for quick service but if you think about it, it's a lot like table service because they bring the food to you. And technically if you preorder your food you can bypass the ordering line. I think it's worth it though to dine in Beasts castle, especially if you can't get a dinner ADR. I also thought it was a lot more peaceful and less crowded than lunch.

No I do not know if the rules are different in DL but I have not really seen anyone in costume at DL. Maybe he was just wearing a hat with the dreadlocks attached? The rest of his outfit looks fairly normal - furry coat and pants. Well, not every day you see a guy wear a furry coat but I guess that was part of his "outfit"

So I only just discovered this TR and I'm only on day 4 but I have to say we lived parallel lives on this TR!!!!

My wife and I arrived on the 17th for our honeymoon and we did the fireworks for SWW that night too! And then we did CRT that morning at 845!!!!

Awesome TR so far I'm loving seeing the same trip thru someone else's eyes!!!

That's so funny! Maybe you guys are in some of my pictures! I had this happen a few years ago too, someone on the DIS was writing a trip report the same time as me and we realize we literally did the same things on the same day.
