Boulder Ridge Refurb Has Begun!

Not sure what I think. I doesn't really look Pacific Northwest to me, though I will hold off judgement until I see it in person. It looks more like decor I'd associate with Arizona or New Mexico. Hmmmm....
The resort is also based off Old Faithful Inn...largely based off it. Been to both, and the lobbies are very similar.

Peeking into first floor rooms! We’re in an original room and kind of fun to be on an original room. Lol. Our two bedroom has been great, just haven’t enjoyed the fire alarm testing in the afternoons with the a four year napping. Lol
Thanks Stampdame.... We've been asking for an update for years so I for one will take it.

But am sad for the folks caught in the transition. Always a tough time and sounds like communication was lacking (surprise, surprise)

There was a guy today at the member meeting who went off on the Boardwalk renovation. I’m not a huge BWV fan but I agreed 100% with his “everything is beginning to all look the same”. From the looks of Boulder Ridge there are very few theming elements that really match with the original theme. It makes me wonder if the budget isn’t high enough for a decent refurb, the people that make those decisions don’t care/are incompetent or soneone(s) are just pocketing the extra as a bonus.

Either way, I’m not tidally thrilled about the direction of DVC or really Disney in general.

can’t say WHY or HOW - but - I can say that I had ‘first hand’ experience with a refurbed 1 Br - I thought it was beautiful - still had touches of the ‘Wilderness’ - for example - while a neutral color (warm white) - the walls are textured with gives off a very unique vibe…also loved the chair in the bedroom

Is the tub a bubblejet or a soaker like at saratoga?

I only saw the standing shower - not to say there wasn’t a tub - just that I didn’t see it

I just looked at my pics - nice deep tub - if I have to guess - it’s a soaker

We checked into Boulder Ridge today for our stay in a 1 Bedroom. Entering the gate, the guard could not find our reservation but let us in. Upon arriving at the front desk, they told me that we were being moved to the Riviera. I said that friends were staying in the Lodge hotel part and we would like to stay here. They explained that on Saturday, all renovated rooms are opening up and that we would have to move on Saturday which was no problem for us. They then gave me a 2 Bedroom for the first two nights. We will get to stay in the newly renovated rooms on Saturday night😃

Not sure why you're so excited. Apparently, they didn't switch the 1 BR's to 5-person capacity; they used the wrong colors on the headboards, sofa, tile, cabinets, walls, and floors; they used the wrong wood grain on the furniture; they used the wrong fabric patters on the curtains and headboards, and 100% of everything they used is cheap, generic, poorly themed and ugly. I'm expecting an avalanche of BRV resale contracts on the market any day now...😉😜

Oh yeah, and apparently there's something inexplicably "wrong" with the balconies that somehow makes them feel like an apartment, and that didn't get fixed either.
