I can't get any of the Biggest Loser clippies to show up on my signature. I'm copying and pasting, but nothing shows up.:confused3 Any suggestions? Thanks.

Good morning everyone. I was at work at 6:40 this morning and jsut ready to sign on and the net was down. It came back middle of 2nd period. This is my prep and I have some things to do but I had to see how things were going here. It has been pretty busy since I checked yesterday.

Yesterday was awful for me. All I wanted to do was eat chocolate. I don't know what that will do for me on the scale tomorrow but we shall see. I have been better this morning. I have my lunch and snack all packed and I got up and worked out this morning so so far it has been a better day.

Wendy (whgrn) I am in West Long Branch but I teach at Middletown High SChool SOuth. BigMama is from Point Pleasant.

Have a great day everyone. I will check in later.

The answer is- my decorations were down, and out of my house by 9am on Christmas day.... *** dont debate this with me please you can do that on the community board, there is a heck of a thread over there***

I haven't done much today, but ate breakfast. I'm not couting points, but I'm tracking my carbs. i have been using fitday which seems to work pretty well.

The goal for the week is to drink more water and get exercise routinely...not sparadically....

gotta buy a scale tonight too for tomorrows weigh in

Brandy

good morning, good morning, good morning!

I am SOOOOO EXCITED RIGHT NOW!!!! I feel so "on"!!!!!

so here's my story and I'm sticking to it! Last week as I was getting to know my buddy... hi jimmduck! :wave2: ... She told me some of her resolves for the next 30 days. I was inspired by that and decided to make a list as well. Of course, knowing me, I had to procrastinate a bit, :rolleyes1 and decided to start the 30 days on Monday (today because last week I truly wasn't ready to give up McDonalds yet). So over the weekend I started playing games in my head. I figured out that the 1/2 marathon would be on 1/9/10, so I thought I could delay my 30 days until Wednesday and make it a "perfect" starting day... you know... 2 years until I run a 1/2 marathon. (another bad trait that I try and make everything "perfect"). Last night as I finished my Mcdonalds (I eat on the way home from work - 12 hour shift at hospital and a 1 hour drive to and from, I will eat on the way home to stay awake :rolleyes1 ) I felt satisfied with the mcdonalds. ANd decided to stop the games and just get started. I called a family meeting, and told my DH and kids what my plans were for the next 30 days. They are so encouraging!:grouphug: So this morning I exercised, ate a healthy breakfast, and have no intention of going to Mcdonalds!!!

My exercise this morning was really good and I was sweating. It felt so great and I feel "on" like I said!!!!

Here is a list of my resolves, and I want to make it public, so I am more accountable!

1. I resolve to NOT EAT AT MCDONALDS!

2. I resolve to not eat potato chips (or any substitutes my mind can devise
up) ~ air popped popcorn is OK~

3. I resolve to exercise 5 x a week

4. I resolve to log all my food into Spark people

5. I resolve to plan my meals in advance so I am prepared.

Those are great resolves. I think it will prompt all us to think about or make resolves list.
so as I was reading and thinking about mine I thought I need to post them it will make me more determined to stick to them.

I resolve to exercise at least 5 times a week

I resolve to not eat any fast food

I resolve to not eat when I am bored, tired or stressed(this a biggie for me)

I resolve to start WW tomorrow and not put it off any longer.:jumping1:

Today I am well enough, so took a walk along the waterfront and out onto the jetty...about 2 miles overall, varying terrain.

Today I resolve to drink the water, and stay on plan (Core, WW). I went to a really nice restaurant last night and overate, so it is imperative I get a handle on this. One day at a time.

Today I resolve not to beat myself up over past indiscretions, but to allow myself to eat healthy today.

Today I will try to find a job. This "unemployed" stuff just isn't working for me.

Hey guys!!! Just checking in! I'm on the countdown... I leave for WDW Wed night and I'll be running the 5K this coming Friday. I'm so excited, but nervous too. I don't feel as prepared as I would like, but I cannot wait to experience this. It's something I never fathomed possible for myself...

Hope everyone has a great day!
Stacie
best of luck to you! have a safe trip! HAVE FUN!!:cheer2:

Those are great resolves. As for myself:

  • I resolve to log all of my points and keep track of what I'm eating.
  • I resolve to stay away from the candy bowl in my CFO's office
  • I resolve to drink at least 64 oz. of water a day
  • I resolve to exercise at least 5 times during the week.

Good morning all,

Did ok this week end, kept the eating down but didin't get any exercise other than house work. Sent all the junk food back to FSU with the boys. SO today is the first serious day of dieting. One day at a time.

Good luck every one.

gotta buy a scale tonight too for tomorrows weigh in Brandy

I don't know if Costco does the same promotions everywhere, but here we have a coupon book that lets you buy a WW digital glass scale for just $17.99
that's a $10 savings. I'm off to buy one today :thumbsup2

AEG - yes, I've been OP all weekend!!! We ROCK!!!!

QOTD2 - Some down, some up. Outside are down, but in boxes on the front porch. Tree is up as I can't lift the large containers down from the top of 10' shelves to put the decorations in. So, probably this next weekend....I hope!!!!

So far so good, but no real exercise. I did spend about 1.5 hours walking laps around the casino on Saturday night waiting for DH & DSIL to think they had donated enough money to go home and about 1.5 hours mall walking waiting for DD16 & her friend to shop. Not fast, but at least it's something.

The crud is still hanging on & nodes are still swollen, but each day I seem to feel a bit better - 3 weeks tomorrow! YIKES!!! Still waiting on blood test results for DD & her enlarged spleen.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday! Last chance to lose some before WI tomorrow!!!!

This is the first Monday in a long time where I weighed less than I did Friday (yes, I'm a scale freak, compulsive about weighing every morning -- not good! :rolleyes1: )

Happy Monday, everyone! I am going to be so good this week because on Friday I AM GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!! :woohoo: :cheer2:

Hi Cam, it's Karen from Sparkpeople ... have fun at WDW

I too have been weighing compulsively. I'm happy w/ what showed up today, hoping it sticks for tomorrow's weigh in.

I'm bad and step on the scale each morning as well and yes Saturday morning showed me weighing less than this morning. :)

I too am a daily weigher. How many other people weigh in daily?

Shesh I dont know if I will be. I wasnt all that impressed with what i saw today, though it is a loss from the last time I was weighed...

I'm not sure- I think if I weighed myself daily, I would have to do it every day at the same time....not sure what I'm doing....

Would love more input on this one

I mostly go into robotic mode ..wake up..pee..weigh myself :lmao:
So yeah, I guess I pretty much do it at the same time everyday.

I really don't know why I weigh myself everyday, I take it all with
a grain of salt .. it really is the weekly weigh in that counts :confused3

My DH weighs himself before going to bed and then again when he
wakes up .. to me that is just weird .. but it works for him.

How many other people weigh in daily?

I do, primarily because I've never gained when I've weighed daily, and I've always lost or maintained (depending on my goal) when I've weighed daily.

OTOH, I can look at this morning's 3-pound uptick, count days on the calendar, and say "About time that water retention kicked in" rather than "It must have been that orange I ate before bedtime! Tomorrow I resolve to eat nothing and exercise a minimum of 8 hours!" And in a week, I'll have 2 or 3 days when the scale goes down half a pound or more each day, and I'll say "About time that water retention left" rather than "Hey, if I lose half a pound every day, I'll be at goal in no time!"

Hi, Karen! Thank you for the good wishes!

Yes, I am a daily weigh-er. Wake up, take care of business, step on scale before stepping in shower. It is almost a compulsion, but I definitely do better when I step on the scale very day.

All of our decorations and tree & spode are put away and the house is put back together. At least I won't be embarassed when our "adopted daughter" comes to stay at our house with DS14 while we are gone.

Vija - Great job on the resolves! You should come join the DISers on sparkpeople, too. It is a huge help to log food and we have an exercise challenge there and everything! On the sparkpeople "31 days to unbreakable resolutions" calendar, the advice for 1/6 is to share your goals with family and friends for invaluable support and assistance. Pretty cool that you are already doing that. Today's is "Enlist a diverse support system instead of just one buddy." -- and here we are on WISH!!! Certainly a "diverse support system"! YAY!!

Right now, I am just trying to stay healthy and hydrated and fueled leading up to the marathon  but here are my resolutions (that I will really try to stick with in WDW, too):
1. Drink at least 64 oz water every day
2. Journal every bite

That is all I can really commit myself to, and I don't want to take on more than I can handle right now. I, like Vija, feel like I am "on" right now. I just have to stay on track.
Thanks to this challenge (and assuming I can avoid a gain), I am 7.9 pounds away from trying on wedding gowns! :woohoo:

Well it looks like we started something good Vija!

Here are my resolves, which sort of started this:

I am on WW and for the next 30 days resolve to:
>> >
>> > a) stay away from candy - i.e. chocolate bars;
>> >
>> > b) chart food everyday, even if I eat 90 points!
>> >
>> > c) weigh in and attend meeting every week (I tend to avoid the scale
>> > if I
>> > think that I am not doing well);
>> >
>> > d) participate in this challenge faithfully;
>> >
>> > e) follow 10k training plan which begins Monday.

I have always done better with a tick off list.

WW only recommends weekly weighing as weight fluctuates so.

Some of my biggest battles have been with fear of the scale and I just surrended to the fact that I need the weekly weigh ins and meetings - some folks do fine without them, I don't.

Have a great week folks - weigh in tomorrow!

Linda
