Of course I am in!
Nice getting on the road a few minutes early!
Men's bathroom..Yuck indeed.
Your room in Destin looks super nice!
Happy to see you, Alexis!
It's kind of a big deal to get out of the house on time with a toddler...getting out early is a miracle! Even if it wasn't much, it felt great.
I will be so happy if I never see the inside of a men's gas station restroom ever EVER again.
It was a great resort! Too bad we were only staying the night, but we were ready to get to Disney!!
joining!
That lap board things looks really cool - might have to get something like that for my kids
sounds a bit crazy just trying to get around Destin - but your place looks pretty nice!
Congrats to your son for making 40"! We are trying to stretch out my daughter a bit to hit 44" for our next trip as she has agree to ride the "gorilla ride" (a.k.a. Expedition Everest) with me
Oh, and of course the Castle, SSE, Tree, and Hat are his ... don't you know the rules of toddler ownership?
1. If I like it, it's mine.
2. If it's in my hand, it's mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it's mine.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
5. If it's mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
6. If I'm doing or building something, all the pieces are mine.
7. If it looks just like mine, it is mine.
8. If I saw it first, it's mine.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
10. If it's broken, it's yours.
11. If it's broken, but you are having fun playing with the pieces, it's mine again.
12. If there is ANY doubt, it's mine.
The lap board has been a life saver on two roadtrips now. He can do so many things on there, including rolling his cars around which is sometimes all a kid needs in the backseat.
I think we got it on
Amazon, and it was pretty cheap! It straps around the back of the car seat too to hold it in place.
Yeah, Destin was kind of a mess.
I even called the resort the night before to make sure we would actually be able to get to it!
OOh, conquering Everest is a biggie!! Since we probably won't be back until next fall, I know there will be a lot more things he will be able to ride. I just hope he's emotionally ready, not just physically!
Ah yes, the toddler's creed!! My days of working in daycare all through high school and college have led me to know those rules of possession all too well.
Just found your new TR and of course I'm subbed in!! Looking forward to your stay at VWL. We stayed there 2 years ago and loved it!
You ought to see the men's restrooms in the Superdome after all the drinking up until they cut everyone off to start the 4th quarter! Talking about ewww!!!
Why thank you ma'am...and from all of us in the Magnolia State to all of y'all up there in Delaware...come on down, take your shoes off and stay a while!
I really hope I can get the next updates up soon, hopefully tomorrow, so we can get to WL and get to the meat of the TR!
Oh goodness, NO THANKS! I will take you at your word that it's disgusting.
OH look, I managed to come over before you were three months into your report.
That hotel looks really nice. Too nice for an overnight stop.
Hey, Pete, you know you're welcome ANYTIME!
The Wyndham resorts usually are entirely too nice for only a one night's stay, but it's just too tempting to have the space and, ya know, not have to pay for a hotel room.
But it does sometimes tempt us to go back for a longer stay like we did with Tennessee, and I think if we ever did go for a big beach trip, we'd stay there again. Hopefully NOT after they experience a natural disaster though!
yay I made it almost at the beginning!
We don't have a DQ here either. Well, actually they put one in our ferry terminal recently but since I'm never there without rushing to get somewhere, it may as well not exist.
Yikes that flood situation sounds scary! Glad you made it relatively easily!
Welcome, welcome!! Happy to have you on board.
Maybe one of these days you can at least slow down long enough to grab a Blizzard for your commute. It will likely make your day SO much better. They are delicious!!
It was a pretty terrible time to try to visit Destin, but at least it was only for a one night stay. I would have been really sad to have planned a long weekend there and had all that flooding happen right before!
Sounds like you were already having a good time before you even made it to WDW! Definitely looking forward to seeing where your trip went from there.
We definitely try to have a good time as much as possible. Gotta keep that toddler in a good mood, after all!
Thanks for joining in!
