A Disney Filled Spring Break-4 Parks & a Magical Cruise! *New 12/11- Completed!*

Looking back at the trip I'm really glad that Reagan was into this attraction and that we took the time for him to explore it. He may outgrow this one soon. I also worry with attractions like this that they might go away suddenly at some point. I do have good childhood memories of this movie and we have watched the movie together with Reagan so he knows what it's all about.
ry%3D480

This was a fun stop to take in all the details in...
ry%3D480

Oh Look! Duffy got to explore, too! YaY!
ry%3D480

Looking up at all the giant blades of grass...
ry%3D480

They're going in!
ry%3D480

Look at this big, creepy guy!
ry%3D480

Shrunk down to bug size...
ry%3D480

Looking down from one of the rope bridges...
ry%3D480

Giant Lite Brite peg! (another fun childhood memory!)
ry%3D480

Hose Nozzle....
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Looking up at mushrooms and grass blades...
ry%3D480

Both my Mom and Reagan voted for the Indiana Jones attraction next so that's where we headed....
ry%3D480

This was a stunt show and it was fun to see how they set up some of the action scenes...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

pyrotechnics...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Souvenir shop!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

This isn't a show I would have been excited to see if Reagan and my mom didn't push for it. All said and done I'm glad we decided to experience it together.

Reagan was set on choosing a souvenir from the Indiana Jones kiosk!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Reagan did find a sword that he just had to have! It's still something that he enjoys so I consider it a successful choice! In fact one of his friends was playing rough with it this summer and Reagan was almost in tears at the thought of his special sword from Disneyworld getting broken. I was able to intervene and explain and all ended well. It's a treasure!
ry%3D480

Where did we head next? Here's a hint..... We had to pass the hat to get there.
ry%3D480

Honey I Shrunk the Kids is a great movie, glad you all got to explore the area.

Hmm ok now I will guess Great Movie Ride!

Our next choice is always a fun one! The Great Movie Ride!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Looking out of the queue towards the Chinese Mann Theatre façade....
ry%3D480

A very cool light fixture inside...
ry%3D480

Gone with the Wind gown on display...
ry%3D480

The wait was short and Nanny and Reagan were zooming through the line!
ry%3D480

Our chariot awaits!
ry%3D480

Such a grand way to enter!
ry%3D480

Love this scene!
ry%3D480

Frank Sinatra, Singing in the Rain....
ry%3D480

Mary and Bert!
ry%3D480

John Wayne....
ry%3D480

You'll never believe what happened next! Our tour guide was held up! Not Kidding!
ry%3D480

And the building caught on fire!
ry%3D480

This guy tried to attack us from above!
ry%3D480

Back to the Temple of Doom....
ry%3D480

It's Jane Tarzan kept swinging and wouldn't stay still enough for a photo...
ry%3D480

My favorite part of the entire ride..... The Wizard of Oz!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Reagan was properly enthralled by it all! Hi Duffy!
ry%3D480

Perfect!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

And they all lived happily ever after....

When we exited the ride it was beginning to rain. Luckily our next destination gave plenty of indoor activity options!

When we finished at the Great Movie Ride it was raining a bit which made it seem like a perfect time to head to the Animation Building...

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

When we entered we spotted Mr. Incredible and Frozone right away and got in line....
ry%3D480

Reagan's sillies were overflowing a bit....
ry%3D480

I guess when you're full of sillies sometimes you decide to meditate...
ry%3D480

I thought their autograph podium was a good idea!
ry%3D480

Before long it was our turn. Reagan visited with Mr. Incredible and asked for his autograph....
ry%3D480

And we had a moment to visit with Frozone....
ry%3D480

all together....
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Reagan checked out some of the activity stations around the Animation Building....
ry%3D480

Our next mission was meeting Mickey in his sorcerer's costume!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Reagan greeted Mickey with a BIG hug!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

We decided to test our drawing skills in the Animation Academy next. I was excited for Reagan to try this because he loves to draw...
ry%3D400

This session we would be drawing Daisy!
ry%3D480

It turns out that Reagan is a perfectionist (like his mommy) and when his drawing wasn't turning out as well as he wanted it to it made him feel a bit upset. Poor guy...
ry%3D480

Nanny at the end of the class...
ry%3D480

I wish I would have taken pictures of our drawings to share. I saved them for the scrapbook but never took pictures of them.

More Animation Studios fun coming up....

After our drawing class Reagan was feeling really, really hungry. We set out to find him a bite to eat.

Sites along the way....
ry%3D480

We decided dropping anchor for a snack was an offer too good to pass up...
ry%3D480

We chose the Dockside Diner...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Reagan found a seat for us while I ordered...
ry%3D480

We tried their pretzel dog which did mention mustard on the order sign but I figured it was something we'd put on ourselves. It comes with it already inside the pretzel. This wasn't a problem for me but it was a bit too strong of a mustard taste for Reagan. We ended up finding him some popcorn after lunch. Luckily we had an ADR not too much later. Any guesses where?

It rained a bit while we ate. The table was covered with an umbrella and we also had an umbrella along so it wasn't a wash out. Looking back at the Diner from our table...
ry%3D480

We weren't quite done in the Animation Building. We were still hoping to meet Wralph and Venelope so we headed back that direction as Reagan ate his popcorn. We saw their photo spot earlier but they were on break. Their spot is cute though and we were excited to meet them.
ry%3D480

Thankfully when we got back into the Animation building Wralph and Venelope were ready to greet so we got in line...

This creepy guy was up in the corner overlooking the line...
ry%3D480

More video game theming in the line...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Reagan's heading in for a BIG Wralph hug!
ry%3D480

So cute!
ry%3D480

Our group pictures...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

With the Wralph and Venelope mission accomplished we headed back out. Almost immediately we came across The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show so we got in line there...
ry%3D480

The décor in the waiting area was awesome in usual Disney style...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

After a short wait we were inside for the show!
ry%3D480

Much of the show is bright show with a black light type effect...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

And they lived happily ever after....
ry%3D480

This was the first time I saw the show and I liked it.

I just love Sorcerer Mickey!

A little jealous you got to draw Daisy, I hope to get her one day!

I had the same complaint about the pretzel hot dog, just a little too much mustard for me!

When we were done watching the Voyage of the Little Mermaid it was raining a bit again so we quickly made our way over into Pixar Place and ducked into Toy Story Midway Mania. We had been on the similar ride in Disney's California Adventure but this was our first time to ride here. We knew we would love it! AND we had a Fast Pass! YaY!
The queue details get me everytime!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Almost our turn!
ry%3D480

Reagan's Ready! He's going to sword fight his way to victory!
ry%3D480

Duffy is all set, too...
ry%3D480

And we're off!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

My little guy!
ry%3D480

Such a fun ride!
ry%3D480

Our prizes...
ry%3D480

We immediately made our way across the street for a very important meet at the Picture Shootin Coral! Buzz and Woody!
ry%3D480

I love all the photo ops in the queue...
ry%3D480

THE CLAW!
ry%3D480

Reagan got strapped to a firecracker!
ry%3D480

Don't worry once I got my pictures I did rescue him....
ry%3D480

In the Stinky Pete box....
ry%3D480

A very clever way to say cast members only....
ry%3D480

We started with autographs and Buzz and Woody had an awesome autograph podium just like Mr. Incredible and Frozone did!
ry%3D480

Buzz uses his Space Commander stamper....
ry%3D480

A group shot!
ry%3D400

Hugs goodbye!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

We're usually more eat along the way tour types rather than ADR types but I was intrigued by the Sci-Fi Dine In Theater so I went ahead with a reservation there.
ry%3D480

I'm not sure how excited my mom and Reagan were for this but when it came time for the reservation it was raining pretty hard out and a place to duck in, keep dry and relax for awhile was welcomed.

The signage where you wait for your table was entertaining....
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Even with a reservation the wait was still about 30 minutes. Maybe many had ducked in at once due to the rain....
ry%3D480

We were able to look over the menu while we waited....
ry%3D480

This way to your car...
ry%3D480

Once we were in I decided it was even cooler than I anticipated!
ry%3D480

We were seated in a car about 3/4 of the way back...
ry%3D480

Our waiter was great!
ry%3D480

I love how the back of the restaurant and serving area is set up like a Drive In snack bar!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Reagan and Nanny in our car. My seat was the empty one up front next to Reagan...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Duffy found a comfy spot on the car's dash / table...
ry%3D480

The scene very much has a hills of California feel...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Walt!
ry%3D480

I had the spinach artichoke dip. I had been looking forward to it after reading about it on others trip reports. I loved it. Since then I've tracked down a Disney recipe for it and made it at home.
ry%3D480

My mom ordered a side salad because she wasn't very hungry but they ended up bringing her the Area 51 salad. It was full of shrimp and so yummy. She couldn't eat most of it but I enjoyed her left overs immensely.

Ice Cream for Reagan! He also had some chicken and fries which are always a hit with him.
ry%3D480

It was still a little wet when we left but the rain had stopped for a bit!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

It was about 4pm at this point and my mom and Reagan were eager to get to the hotel and check in. I still had park left to cover so I sent them on their way to All Star Music for check in and I told them I'd take the bus over to join them after Fantasmic. A bit of solo touring coming up....

Since I was not in the park solo meeting Minnie moved right to the top of my list! Her queue was so great. One movie poster was better than the next...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

When I got into Minnie's dressing room I thought it was so adorable!
ry%3D480

And her polka dots have sparkles!
ry%3D480

On those poor old ears, that are now buried at sea on POTC in Paris, the bow was always wonky. We were trying to fix it....
ry%3D480

Finally we were ready to pose...
ry%3D480

Hugs goodbye....
ry%3D480

Before leaving the animation building I looked around just a bit more. I love how they have this animator's desk displayed...
ry%3D480

There was a Frozen display in the case....
ry%3D480

And there was a animator's talk about to begin so I sat down for that....
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

We had so much fun drawing earlier in the day I decided to take another class....
Pooh's poster...
ry%3D480

And Goofy...
ry%3D480

This time we drew Tigger and here is how mine turned out...
ry%3D480

I had some time before Fantasmic still so I walked the park and took some more of it in....
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

It was just about time for Fantasmic so that's where I headed next...

It was just about time to start thinking about finding a seat for Fantasmic. Unfortunately, it started to sprinkle some around this time. Everyone was breaking out the ponchos...
ry%3D480

I kept my fingers crossed that the bad weather would pass and made my way into the Amphitheater...
ry%3D480

Flags along the way in....
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

The rain continued as I sat and waited for the show to begin and I made the required WDW poncho purchase. This made sitting and waiting in the rain much more enjoyable. I still had everything crossed and was hoping that the show would still go on. The wait paid off and when it came time Mickey started the show! YaY!!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

The float with Belle and the Beast...
ry%3D480

Prince Eric and the Little Mermaid...
ry%3D480

Snow White and Prince Charming...
ry%3D480

Maleficent Dragon....
ry%3D480

Mickey saves the day!
ry%3D480

And they all lived happily ever after. This ship gives IASW some competition for the "Happiest Cruise that Ever Sailed" title.
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Following Fantasmic I was in the mood to browse through some of the shops....
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

PONCHO PIC!
ry%3D480

I also took some time to take in DHS at night. Such a pretty park!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Love all the neon!
ry%3D480

I continued my stroll through the park after Fantasmic just ducking in and out of shops and taking in all the details....
ry%3D480

Sweet Spells...
ry%3D480

Cute Treats! Oh, btw it was St. Patrick's Day. I expected this to be more prevalent in the parks and perhaps it was in others but not in a DHS.
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

My pick...
ry%3D480

Villians in Vogue....
ry%3D480

I'm a sucker for a great pair of ears...
ry%3D480

I thought this was a pretty great shirt....
ry%3D480

A cool Villian's suitcase...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Sunset Club Couture...
ry%3D480

So pretty at night!
ry%3D480

More shopping...
ry%3D480

This is one of the shirts I really like. I should probably just get it at some point...
ry%3D480

This one I did end up purchasing after a bit of thought..
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

I really liked this set of pins. I had collected one or two at the time but still had a ways to go. I'm happy to say I now have them all through trading. I did buy the Villian shoes as a set rather than trying to find them as trades.
ry%3D480

I wanted this set, too and had traded for one, maybe two. I ended up buying the set and giving my mom what I had traded for so far.
ry%3D480

I just had one more thing to accomplish before leaving DHS for the night.... One Man's Dream.
ry%3D480

This museum of sorts is such a treat for any Disney fan. For me it's like a great big three dimensional scrapbook. I love it!

Can you imagine having seen these moments in person!? What a treat that would have been!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

The miniature scenes are adorable!
ry%3D480

Mickey treasures!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Fond CA Adventure memories!
ry%3D480

This is a tiny replica of a bronze statue and fountain at Disneyland Hong Kong. It's one of the first things you see as you approach to enter and I have fond memories of it as well!
ry%3D480

Plans for Shanghai Disney.... I have grand dreams of getting there someday..
ry%3D480

I love the antique / vintage merchandise...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

At this point I made my way out of the park and caught a bus over to All Star Music. My mom and I had sent texts through the evening so I knew they had arrived and got settled in. I was excited to see the resort. More from there in the next post.....

SOunds like a nice lunch at Sci-Fi! Love your pics with Minnie, her area really is the cutest. Great Fantasmic pics!

The bus ride from Animal Kingdom to All Star Music was quick and easy. Before I knew it I was approaching this...
ry%3D480

And because I hadn't already spent enough time shopping tonight at DHS I checked out Maestro Mickeys, the gift shop at All Star Music...
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

My mom had stopped for check in earlier but I stopped to finalize all...
ry%3D480

After check in I made my way towards our room and photographed the sights along the way.

Intermission Food Court was still in full swing...

ry%3D480

I continued to explore the All Star Resorts in the morning before our last park day in Animal Kingdom. More from All Star Music coming up in the next entry....

In my usual Disney style I slept fast and was back up early. My mission this morning was to finish exploring the All Star Resorts. I picked back up where I left off at All Star Music in the Country section.....

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Aren't these the best luggage carts ever!?!
ry%3D480

My mission to explore the All Star resorts before our Animal Kingdom day was accomplished!

This was the last day of our trip but we were trying not to think of that until later in the day. For now we had one more park to concentrate on. My mom decided to take it a little slower this morning and join us at Animal Kingdom a little later. Just Reagan and I set off to explore. Reagan and I took the bus which had us there in no time. My mom brought the car later.

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Our first plan was to go on safari. We took in the sights along the way....
ry%3D480

ry%3D400

Although we would have loved it if Nanny was with us this morning, Reagan and I were both enjoyed the time with just the two of us as well.
ry%3D480

We squeezed in a few photopass photos on the way to the safari....
ry%3D480

Imagine our surprise when we were innocently having our picture taken as Stich burst out of the sidewalk!
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

I love this one of Reagan and Simba!

We all loaded in and were off on safari! More from the safari in the next post...
