Just booked this tour and as I understand it, there were three spots open as of today. Before reservations are made for flights, I am trying to figure out how many days afterwards I want to stay out in the CA area.

Starting this thread w/the dates in the title just in case someone is searching for it under the dates

As I mentioned in the other thread. Im going on this one and I can not wait. I knew I had to do this tour when rumors of it started. Once I saw this one with the extra stuff for DVC members I just had to book it. Whats even better than the extra goodies for the DVC tour is the fact that my birthday falls during the tour!

Im local to the park and I can try and answer questions about the park if anyone has any general questions.

I'll be watching this trip with interest! I had already booked my Jan ABD Backstage Magic before this one was announced, so I'll have to enjoy it through all of you

bumping up a little - anyone else on this tour for September 2nd, DVC members only, I am told. Does anyone know for sure?

Come on! There has to be more than just me and krdisneybound here going on this trip! The tour is awesome as it is and the extra goodies on this one is even better!

I still can't wait for this trip even though I have already done most of the thing on this trip in the past, I can't wait to do them again and be with a friend that will experience it all for the first time.

perhaps the others are not regulars on this board - there are so many other boards out there to participate in

as we get closer perhaps more will post -

also, I'm booked for 3 days afterwards also - meeting some friends in the area

DH and I will be there.

Can't wait to meet you on the trip.

On a side note, it sounds like the Hollywood tour didn't work out on the dress rehersla tour and on the first offical tour, they replaced it with a trip to Walt's Barn. A visit there was being used and an added extra on this tour. "... exclusive experiences just for this special itinerary including: A speical vist to Walt Disney's famous barn at Las Angeles' Griffith Park." I don't mind if they needed something to fill the gap for the first tour but it is now sounding like it will become a more permanet addition to the tour. I spoke with Michael Broggie today and mentioned at least 3 other tours are now schedule to visit.

As awesome as this trip is, what really convinced me to finally book it was the "exclusive experiences just for this speical itinerary". Am I just over reacting? Hopefully if the visit to the Barn becomes a regular feature, hopefully they will add a new "exclusive experience" and if so, I can't wait to see what it might be.

The more people that get to experience the barn, the better, its a great place, I love it there, but we just lost an exclusive experience that was marketed to us.

We originally thought the "barn" at Griffith Park was a horse barn. I did some research and discovered it was the Carolwood Pacific barn.

I don't mind if the barn is now part of the standard tour. We really want to visit the Disney archives.

I don't mind that its part of the tour now since it is a very awesome place to go. Anyone that goes is able to go to the barn is very lucky. Its not open very often, usally one day a month so its great more people will get to experience it.

My concern is that one thing that was supposed to be special for us is no longer so. Hopefully Disney will give us another unique experience if the barn is now part of the normal tour.

Ollie Johnston's "depot" building was added to the Carolwood Pacific Railroad on May 17, so we'll get to see something new at Griffith Park.

I just called to make our final payment on this trip.

Another special for DVC only is a trip to the Kodak Theater. She told me there were a few special things added for DVC, but she didn't know all of them. She could only tell me about Griffith Park, Disney Archives, and the Kodak Theater. I think there's also a look into making a DVC resort that was on the flyer we got.

And the DVC trip is sold out.

wow - this is all GOOD. I had no doubt that this would be quickly booked.

So I was telling a friend Friday night (5/30) about the Backstage Magic tour that we'll be taking. I outlined some of the activities and mentioned Jimmy Kimmel Live. She got all excited about it. I've never even seen Jimmy Kimmel Live, and I'm not into talk shows at all (she's a real talk show fanatic). That's the least exciting part of the trip for me.

What about the Backstage Magic tour are you least excited about???

Actually, Jimmy Kimmel Live was very interesting. We had two people, who work for the show, that took us all over the backstage areas. Neat to see what goes into a show if you have never seen it. That evening, we happened to be one of the couples able to see the taping with Jimmy. That was interesting too. There was nothing that was really least exciting. Every place we went to was special and fun. The Guides that stay with you the entire time, and the extra hosts we meet up with along the way, simply make it interesting and special. You will have a great time.

Your group is very lucky to be able to see the Disney Archives! Neat! :)

received my ABD box today with all the goodies inside. guess the countdow:cool1: n can start now.

anyone else receive theirs?

I like the idea that when we get to the GC, I will be there thru the following Thursday. Nice long stay with lots of times to plan extra activities after the tour.

Hey guys. I has to reschedule my trip due to work, so I will not be attending this trip with you guys. Hope you guys have a good time. I just have to wait even longer.
