    Decorated campsites today?

If anyone of you are there now, which loop has the best decorations, 100-200, 500, or 700. These are easiest walk from the Settlement .

    Settlement area questions

Thanks for the reply guys. My friends are at Disney now. They are in Pop Century. They took the boat over to the Fort last night. They had to wait an hour on a boat. She said it was a long line so I guess they had bad luck on timing and had to wait for a second boat. Are they still running...

    Settlement area questions

    1) is the excellent fried chicken still available at P&J's? 2) I have friends who will be taking the boat from MK next weekend to explore the Fort a little. Which loops are the best decorated , 100, 200, 500, or 700?. 3) I know the fireworks are a no go, but what about the Electrical Water...

    Overnight Campgrounds on our route

Hello Mudqueen22. We have stopped for the night many times at the KOA in Milton. It's just a few miles east of Pensacola at exit 31. For just sleep and go I get a pull through and they have plenty. Nice place right off I10.

    Passport or Wolf Pup

Hello Lion100. Last fall the wife and I bought a very similar trailer. We compared the wolf pup to a Jayco Jay Flight 174BH. Both super light bunk house models towable by our Acadia suv. For us the Jayco won out for one small detail. Our grandaughters will be in the little bunks. I wanted to...

I dream of DVC RV and cabin resort at River Country

Bama Ed, you are the man. Thanks for taking the time to address my questions as to why the dream of DVC River Country RV Resort is not going to happen. You pointed out that other areas on the lakes just aren't good places for resorts. I did not think about that. I do understand and agree with...

I dream of DVC RV and cabin resort at River Country

Good morning Bama Ed. I do remember your idea of Camp Davy Crockett. That is still a wonderful idea. About the prime River Country location, I have 2 questions. First, arent there plenty of other locations around the lakes where they could build more hotels? Second, doesn't Copper Creek have...

I dream of DVC RV and cabin resort at River Country

I just wanted to give ya'll a heads up about a thread you may want to read over on the Rumers and News board. Page 6 of the thread " Site inspections at River Country". I added a couple of posts about my dream. Maybe I should have just started a thread over here instead.

    Site inspections at River Country?

You guys that say a campground expansion is not going to happen because of the bean counters are probably right. It is logical that they make more money with a hotel type resort. On the other hand, it depends on what kind of beans the bean counters are counting. Copper Creak has cabins. An RV...

    Site inspections at River Country?

I have a dream. I dream of a small DVC expansion for Fort Wilderness. There are already numerous hotel, villa type resorts. Why not something unique here. Maybe some rustic pioneer cabins and some high end RV sites for us DVC members who want to bring our " covered wagons". I think for a very...

Time For River Country To Be Developed?

We bought DVC last year. I am hoping for something themed like the Fort. It needs a golf cart path to the Fort. Maybe some cabins.

Favorite loop at the Fort and why?

We mostly stay in the 1800 loop. Love the quite, the sites are large and most are shady. We like the sites on the outer part, backing in with woods behind you. The sites 1804, 1806, 1808, and 1810 are the best. I think many of the sites are actually 14 or 15 ft wide pavement. You can't beat this...

New strategy, less park time, more r and r.

Sorry I failed to mention that we are DVC members and used our points for AK Villas. What I am saying is the total cost of a Disney vacation, especially park tickets and Fort Wilderness is just too much for us to keep doing everything on every trip like we used to. The Fort is our favorite...

New strategy, less park time, more r and r.

We still love Disney World and Disneyland. The costs have risen so much that we have to cut back, so sad. A campsite at Fort Wilderness is now about $100 To almost $200 a night. In late June we spent 4 nights at AK Villas and 3 nights at Fort Wilderness but we only did one day at AK and one day...

*Truck and Towing thread........ask your questions here.*

Hello Fort friends. Here is a brief update on our new camper. We have towed it through the Ozark mountains to Branson Mo and back. I couldn't be any happier towing. This rig is absolutely rock solid, no sway at all. Big trucks have no effect when passing. I have plenty of power on the hills...

*Truck and Towing thread........ask your questions here.*

Howdy ya'll. I thought I would share our news about our RV downsizing. We recently sold the class A. We have a GMC Acadia which hopefully will be our tow vehicle. Yea I know it's not a great choice usually. We have ordered a new Jayco Jay Flight 174BH. This is 21 feet bumper to hitch and weighs...

    Ideas for surprise family activy

I highly recommend the Hoop Dee Doo Review. It is fun to take the boat from WL to Fort Wilderness. Only a short walk from the boat dock to Pioneer Hall for this dinner show. We think it is one of the best things in WDW. Reserve category 1 and do it now, you will be seated up front near the...

    New Mexico to the Fort

Howdy DL55. We have stayed in the full hookup category many times, always in the 1800 loop. It seams a bit more quiet and roomy. If you dont have the book The Next Exit i hughly recommend it. It is easy to follow your route on interstate highways and know where all the rv friendly gas stations...
