SAP+ ?

Good to know. I'll be sure to bring a hoodie... if its colder than that, I'll just make it a resort day. :)
Don’t underestimate how the humidity in Orlando can make it feel much colder than it does in places where humidity is generally low.

Im taking your Canadian card away from you. We would still be swimming in pools all to ourselves....lol
lol - I didn't say we weren't also in the pool! You better believe my kids were in the hotel pool and hot tub every single night. The juxtaposition of whining about the cold and, at the same time, taking a polar dip each night is not lost on me. 🤣

Sort of back on topic... When thinking about SAP+ does point chart matter? (or how much does it matter)

For instance if you bought VGF or Poly, and you reserve 3, 3days separately so you can switch them at 7months, you might only be able to reserve the 9 days, & not have anymore, or visa versa, you reserve using SSR points & you can only switch to get 5-6 days instead of 9? (run out of points before or after based on what the cost is)

Maybe it doesn't matter because if the dates are open at 7mo's you wouldn't need to have something to switch from.?

Not sure if that makes sense to you guys. I can clarify if needed. lol

We went through this gyration recently while purchasing VGF direct this summer. Does it matter because the VGF point chart is nutty....
For pure SAP, id say it doesnt. because you are buying knowing its SAP. If it was a hybrid type model/justification, then it does matter, which is how we ended up with 200 direct VGF points instead of just 150!
Its only $$ right? :-)

I’ll bet you are happy you have those 50 extra points now.

New twist on my SAP+ plan...

Just got back from WDW for the first time, & LOVE Boardwalk.!!
I was able to waitlist a studio (garden/pool) for 3 nights at the ned of Jan/early Feb, but is that going to be the norm, will i always (or mostly) be able to get something at 7 months at BWV? If not, do I need to stop thinking of SAP+ value & start thinking of "where I want to stay" with more weight?

I'm still stuck on CCV (or maybe BLT as far as SAP goes), but now that I've actually visited, I think I have different feelings about the whole thing. I'd like to know for sure what is going to happen with Poly before I make the decision, & since I'm not planning another trip to WDW until Jan 2026, I got a year to decide. :)

Yep it’s relatively easy to get P/G view studios at BW during most times of the year. I actually have 3 nights in a BW view studio in March and then I also managed to get another 3 nights in a BW view studio in July during Moonlight Magic without owning there although we may actually switch from a BW studio there to RIV and follow it up with a Polynesian studio. I feel like I’m pretty good at getting BW without owning there which is kind of turning into an issue because I want to stay at RIV but I also appreciate BW’s cheap point charts and walking to Epcot LOL.

I know I’m pretty excited about Murphy beds in there! It will be a several more years before CCV gets them.

Will they be getting them with the 2025 refurbishment? I'd like to stay there someday but definitely not until they get murphy beds!

Can I piggyback onto your thread with a question?

So we're currently waiting on ROFR for 50 BRV points. We plan to go every other year or every 3rd year so 50 is enough for now with a studio stay for about 6-7 nights in our preferred travel month of January. But I'm always thinking of the future. If we wanted to switch to a 1 bedroom, would our extra points need to be BRV as well? Or is it easy enough to get a 1-bedroom for a week at BRV at the 7-month mark? And in that case, we'd just buy SAP somewhere?

1-bdrm in January looks pretty good at 7months, so I'd wait and see if it seems to become a problem before buying more... unless a great deal pops up then at least you know you could use it. ;)

Funny, I'm telling you to wait & you shouldn't need it, and even though people are telling me i wont need 11month priority, I still made an offer on a BWV contract this morning. lol

Good luck on the contract!

Well, technically I would need more than 50 pts if we want to do a 1-bedroom for the amount of days we like. Not sure when that would be though so we'll definitely be waiting a while. I want to keep watching prices and trends though. Just not sure if we'd need additional points to also be BRV for the 11-month window or if we should pick something like CCV instead (especially if there aren't tons of years left on BRV because then when BRV expires, we'd still have points at CCV that we could use or sell.)

(We are also on the fence about if we'll want/need more points at VGC down the road so I'm watching that as well!)

Good luck with your offer!! I'll be watching for you on the ROFR/closing time threads!

@Chili327 @ClaraOswald you two are a bunch of enablers!!

@ClaraOswald - you could bank/borrow for a 1br one year to see if that's something you'd like to do. If so, and you think you'd like to do a tour of 1br, they are generally available at 7 mo and maybe try a few to see if there are other resorts to your liking. BRV and VGC are very similar in theming so I get why you like BRV. As @Chili327 found, though, there may be 1brs in other resorts that you like even more.

A BLT 1br, especially lake view, is likely available at 7 mo. And Lakeview is one of the most peaceful views at BLT. and the walk to MK is great!

Other peaceful 1brs where we've stayed: AKV-K savanna, Riviera (any view), VGF (because it's in a separate building), BWV standard and p/g, BCV (separate building behind the rest of the hotel)...

Yeah, I think when the time comes for us to possibly move up to 1 bedrooms...we'll have to decide what we're looking for. So they let you tour rooms at the various resorts? I thought it was only possible for the ones being actively sold.

I change my opinion on the resorts a lot. So who knows what I'll like in a few years. BLT, for example...the rooms are just "meh" but maybe after the refurb I'll like them more. I'm not big on tall buildings though so that might be deal breaker. But the two full bathrooms would be really nice!

Originally, Beach Club was my top favorite (all of my opinions are just based on photos/videos.) But I've heard it can be pretty crazy over there. So the DVC building area isn't too crazy since it's set back? My husband isn't a fan because he looked at street view and hates how the side of the building overlooks the road. I do worry about road noise because of that. Walking to Epcot (our favorite park) would be so amazing though!

I've not found BCV to be too crazy. The pool is always very popular, and the lobby is shared with the hotel side, but the rooms themselves were pretty chill the two times I've stayed there. You're pretty far removed from any noise coming from Stormalong Bay or the waterfront, but honestly even on the hotel side I haven't found it to be too bad!

It's worth checking out the resorts in person - some things that don't matter to me, for example, will matter a lot to someone else.

I know your son is sensitive to noise - how is he with muffled fireworks sounds? When my kids were little they could sleep through if they were already asleep, even at BLT where the park-facing rooms (all 3 categories) you actually heard and felt the windows vibrating. But also one of our favorite things to do is to watch fireworks from our own balcony, in PJs.

re: tall buildings - you can always request a lower floor. At BLT I don't think the standard rooms go above the 4th or 5th floor.

BCV - shortest walk to EP, short walk to the bus stop for MK/AK. The building is quiet because it's separate from the rest of the hotel. The DVC pool aka quiet pool is by the villas - a little dull for our taste, but it is very convenient if all you want is a pool! We've had the rooms overlooking the "road" - in summer you can barely see the road and you don't hear anything. You'll be able to see some EP fireworks over the trees in the "road-facing" rooms. And with the exception of a few anomalous rooms with large balconies (we got one once!), the balconies at BCV are not really much to write home about. You can look at room views at touring plans. Basically, nothing at BCV feels "crazy" except SAB (the big pool), the lobby, and Cape May buffet. But all are pretty easy to avoid if they're not your cup of tea, other than initial check in/arrival.

Similarly, Kidani is more peaceful than Jambo, but you have Jambo close by if you want.

Edited: many standard rooms at both BLT and VGF will have views of the monorail, if your son is into that. Many BLT lake view rooms have views of the boats coming in to the lagoon in the AM as well. And lake view rooms at VGF also have boats, lights from the other resorts, and monorail... peaceful and iconic Disney.

Do the trees block the road view/sounds much in winter? We always go in January/February.

This is the street view that my husband saw and was like "nope!" But I should probably remind him of all our years spent staying in Harbor motels at Disneyland.

Oh course, none of these places will probably ever be available at 7 months or affordable on our little 50 pts, sadly.

Road noise was a definite downer for balcony use for me and my guests. We haven’t had them often, and that doesn’t prevent me from going to BCV. This is only from that one area.
