Rumored Changes to G+

Yeah i think they will never put 3 ILLs in MK and would just raise G+ price instead if 7DMT added. Better optics.

At this point I'll be surprised if they actually announce something
The most ridiculous part is EVERY trip has and continues to be different for us. Cannot rely on anything.

After a trip Dec ‘23 we have 2 more, all within 12 months. All 3 will be different operations, especially where G+/ILL is concerned. 9 trips that include only 1 prior to covid and EVERY one had significant operational differences.

This. Some stability would be nice

Of course most park goers go once very 3-4 years if that

So, Learning a new system not that much of a deal for the average (not us) visitor.

I've never had trouble learning a new system, and we've been visiting about every 2 years. Before our last visit (August 2023), I spent weeks carefully researching G+ so I'd be facile with it.

Nonetheless, with G+, we hit a wall. We hated using it on the days we bought it (burying my nose in my phone all day, pounding the app, constantly jockeying for more convenient G+ times or trying to find a random reservation for an otherwise "sold out" attraction, instead of enjoying my vacation), and we hated not having it on the days we didn't buy it (and getting constantly shunted aside in lines in favor of G+/DAS guests, which is demoralizing and makes you feel like a second-class citizen by the hundredth time -- conversely, when we did have G+, we felt like entitled d*&$#-bags passing all those people in standby).

While we felt that all the previous systems (FP, FP+, or the standby-only-plus-some-VQ during COVID) were fairly egalitarian and helped to make our trip objectively better or easier to plan ahead of time, the very existence of G+ made this last trip objectively worse for my family, in all of the areas that matter most to them: ride access, short waits, and the ability to relax and just enjoy being in the moment. For the first time since we started taking the kids in 2012, we came back from WDW with a bad taste in our mouths, and made no plan to come back in 2 years (or ever), until Disney puts something better in place.

I don't see them adding it to Genie+ since it will be the new ride and therefore everyone will want to ride. My guess is that it will be VQ & ILL
I guess......But its not really a new ride unfortunately.........But Im not saying it wont be busy due to the retheming...I just dont understand why people get all hot and bothered over it......

Makes sense to do that, and maybe move 7DMT to regular Genie+
My point is, SDMT will cont to have high demand........Tianas will wear off after the novelty of it is over.........

I could see 3 ILL's when it reopens and then moving it to Genie+ after this summer

Aren't you limited to 2 ILL's per day? I guess that doesn't stop them from having 3 to choose from.

Plus people had no issue waiting in long lines for splash for years even when it was on fp.

I don't see it having an LL or if it does not for long. Also don't see a need for a VQ. The people that weren't riding before because of the drop and/or to avoid getting wet, aren't going to ride it now. People that may not ride it every trip or only once may increase their rides for a bit but I don't think it's going to be as crazy as guardians or tron would be without a VQ.

For a bunch of reasons (too long to make people suffer thru) I expect:
  • Tiana to open with VQ and ILL
  • TRON to move to standby and ILL
  • 7DMT to move to Genie+ and that price raised a few dollars
G+ at MK is roughly between $20 and $40. MK gives the best G+ advantage and people will buy it. The lack of a pricing schedule makes it easier for them to increase amount of higher price days without much fanfare.

What happens when nobody buys ILLs to Tiana's after its open for 6 months? and then they only have 1 ILL in the park?

Dont see it happening

I see VQ or Genie+

7DMT seems to never meet demand so why not charge extra if they can. But I just don’t think 7DMT is the ‘make or break’ ride it used to be, and even less so once MK has 2 newer shiner rides.

I get the feeling people won’t want to miss the new Tiana ride on a trip or rare park visit, where 7DMT seems more acceptable. A big part of ILL psychology is FOMO. Will Tiana seem more important to accomplish? And if 7DMT is in Genie+, how much can that increase G+ sales &/or maximum price tolerance?

Look at RotR. People still buy ILL because they want to ride the new attraction and don’t want to risk it being a hassle or missing out. 2.5 years later and people still pay for ILLs even though it’s relatively easy to get on around park open/close. It’s not uncommon to see wait times drop after 5pm, but even on days where TP or TD predict that to happen, people buy ILL anyway because they don’t know or don’t care. Alot of people just look at how high the waits can get and judge from there. Possible high wait and possible missing out on new ride otherwise equals ILL purchase.

Notice all the green at the end. What used to be rare green days here and there has become mostly green.

People still buy ILL for RotR. They still buy FoP too because it feels like it can ‘make or break’ their AK day.

Not everybody will visit within the first 6 months of Tiana’s opening, and some buy ILL after first time too.

We’ll see how sustainable their choice is. I can’t see Tiana opening without an ILL though, or 3 ILLs in one park & G+.

And this is my fears for the end of the month. Exactly.

We've been going almost once a year for a while and every time I go I feel like I have to take another crash course from YouTubers because something has inevitably changed.

3 ILLs in one park would be insane. I can't imagine being that once-in-a-lifetime trip family shelling out for all of those in addition to G+ just so they can get everything done. You might as well just set the Mouse himself up with your direct deposit information o_O

There are some Disney Executives out there that need to read this post in it's entirety.
