Let’s see your tree!

Cut down ourselves. Majority of decorations are Disney and from our children when they were young.

In my childhood, the only way to get a tree was to venture into the back 40 and cut it down and drag it home yourself. :goodvibes Good memories. Yours is lovely! I can practically smell it from here. We're in a new home this year and debating having a real tree for the first time since forever but I'm worried about the low humidity here being hard on it.

Great memories. Years ago when our children were young we’d spend the weekend in NH and hike out into the White Mountain National Forrest and cut down our tree. You could get a permit from the park rangers for $5. Of course the weekend would cost about $300 for the hotel but still we only paid $5 for the tree🤣.

Now we just go to a local tree farm. Here’s the before pictures.

This is my family room tree - the fun tree. It has all the family ornaments, vacation ornaments, homemade ornaments, ornaments the kids made and family heirloom ornaments.

I just took it as I’m sitting here on the coach. I’ll post my living room tree later - the formal tree.

Yes….that’s a Little People’s Nativity under the tree. I bought that when DD25 was born and it’s been under the ever since and will be forever. My girls loved playing with it when they were children.

I had waited to share pictures because I hadn’t added any ribbons, garlands or tinsel. At this point, I’ve decided that this is the year we go without. I still have a bag of fresh cranberries I intended to string… which just won’t be happening.

Tree 1 is an old artificial tree I inherited from a friend. It’s in the game room, but it’s the tree where gifts will be placed since it’s next to the fireplace. Santa logic!

Tree 2 is the Disney/retro tree. It’s a slim that I inherited from a different friend.

This is my husband’s tree. We had a year in our old house where he got blue because the main tree was in a different area. It now lives on our bar with some lit garland and it’s his to decorate with his baggy of mini ornaments.

This is the main tree this year. It’s in our family room between the couches. I love that it’s really full and fragrant, but I normally opt for a Fraser or Noble Fir because of branch strength. This is a Douglas and it can only handle really light pieces.

This is also the first year I came up with a good solution for these big pine garlands. They are too heavy for those adhesive hooks and clash with our outside decor.

We also finally figured out a decent solution for our old train village decor and annoying candles.

Ok, obviously more than trees! Hey, I’ll spare you our Chanukah stuff!

I LOVE all the pictures! All the trees are beautiful! I will try to post pictures; I have to do it with my cell phone and I'm a bit of a dinosaur so I'm not completely sure how to do it, but I will try.

My main tree has been up for two weeks, but it's still not decorated. I'm hoping to start working on it today. Once I get it done, I will hopefully be posting some pictures.

It's not the prettiest tree that was ever decorated, but it has a lot of memories on it:

Ye-ah. The dinosaur is supposed to be outside. My Godson (who adores dinosaurs) got upset that it would be 'cold and sad' outdoors, so it's in the house. We caught him loving on it last night:

I’m jealous of your dinosaur! My older son, the one who was hugely into dinos, has mostly moved past that stage now but I still have a soft spot for them because they were such a big part of our lives for quite a while. I’d give that little light-up cutie a warm home inside, too! 😆

It’s a very pretty tree - the fact that it brings you memories - makes it even more special.

The first two photos are my main tree, the third photo is the tree I made years ago that's on my dresser, the fourth & fifth photos are my kitchen tree and pictures six and seven are my Barbie tree that's on the sunporch and the last tree is just a tree with mini ornaments from Disney, the Wizard of Oz and other things.

Until last year I put up another two trees, one was in the front window aka my office and that was always a Disney tree and I also put another smaller tree in the hall. Now that I have come to my senses (LOL) I switch out the main tree every other year with family ornaments (this year) and Disney ornaments (last year and will be next year). I really do love decorating for Christmas but I'm not a huge fan of putting it all away. LOL

Too cute.

I’m curious about the shoes under the tree. Is that for the German tradition?
