Hmmm ... Do I read the Meijer deal correctly? If I buy 10 $50 gift cards, they'll give me 50,000 mPerks points which comes out to be worth $50? Can I then use those points to buy another $50 gift card? That might be worth a drive, especially since I drive an electric hybrid so maybe I'll burn $10 worth of gas.

No, unfortunately the Rewards can only be used on non gc purchases. Look under Meijer:

Yes and no. You read it right and you will get $50 in mperks for the $500 however you can not buy gift cards with mperks.

We just always get so many fuel points from Kroger with the 4x that we buy gas there.
We just use the mperks for groceries even though gas is a much better deal.

$1 off a gallon up to 30 gallons for 10,000 points
In store they are $1 = 1,000 points

(Edited to add the extra "f" to $1 of a gallon) :)

Like I said, I drive an electric hybrid so fuel perks don't do it for me. My tank is only 7 gallons and I fill it maybe once a month.

Am I missing something? I read over on DOC that the cards cost $7.95 to activate, so the savings comes out to $17.15: . That's less than 3%. You'll pay $593.85 for the cards ($600 - $30 + (3*$7.95)) and then you'll get $11 back from Chase.
Each of my $200 Mastercards had a $6.95 Fee.
The receipt show each card was marked down to $190 and at the bottom it added the fees of $20.85 for a total of $590.85 so only 1.53% savings

I unfortunately only received 10% back on 1 chase card and the rest were 5%
I was able to use all of the cards in one transaction.

Card #1 $11, #2 $5.50, #3 $5.50, #4 $5.50, #5 $5.50, #6 $2.04

Total Cash back from Chase = $35.04

$590.85 - $35.04 = $555.81

This makes my savings $44.19 or 7.37% but if you were lucky enough to get chase cards with 10% back ($11 on $110) vs 5% ($5.50 on $110) you should save more.

I can then turn around and use these cards up at Meijers when getting 10% back on Disney gift cards or at Sam's Club

You scared me for a moment as I made this mistake years ago, buying iTunes gift cards to buy a new phone.

iTunes gift cards could only be used to buy stuff in iTunes and later the app store.
They had a second "Apple Store" gift card that could be used for physical items.

The good news it looks like they just have one card now that can be used for everything.

Do you know if there are limits when buying through apple.com with gift cards? Will you be able to use 12+ cards at once to buy that new phone?

Yes, easily. You can load up to 2k into your apple account and check out using that 2k plus another 8 gift cards at checkout.
Yes! It changed a few years back and now it's all one product. It's a huge savings if you're deep into the Apple ecosystem.

I always take the highest iPhone trade-in, but it's even better when Gazelle or BuyBackWorld are priced higher than the Apple Store because I get to "cash out" a portion of my discounted 25% GCs for a check when I sell my old iPhone.

Can you explain what you mean by the highest iPhone trade in? We've been getting good deals on ours with monthly credits through AT&T the last couple of times we've been eligible for new phones, but I've heard they are eliminating this option, so need to be on the lookout for what we'll do next time.

I have found that I end up making more money selling my iphone on ebay (even after all the fees) than sending it to one of these trade in places.

I did have a cheap Samsung phone that I had no use for, so I sent it in to one of these trade in companies for $11. After 3 weeks I hadn't heard anything so I checked the tracking and it said they had received it 2 weeks before. So I called them, and they told me they never received it and they said the tracking is meaningless because when UPS delivers them 1,000 phone boxes, they don't actually scan each box, they just write delivered for the whole thing. It was only $11 so I wasn't going to go crazy over it, but my point is if you were sending in an expensive phone, I don't know who would be responsible or if there would be a way to get your money back if it gets lost.

I compare all my options (Best Buy, Gazelle, Buyback World, Apple Store direct, etc) prior to iPhone release day and lock them in since the quotes drop as soon as the new model is released. Then I pre-order my new iPhone, receive it on release day, and ship the old model off. I prefer checks because I don't want to be stuck with a Best Buy gift card. Apple Store is fine since I have things that bill through it or I will purchase accessories or other devices, but cash is still king.

Right now my Phone will sell back for about $900. If a new phone with tax costs $1500 and I saved 25% on Apple GCs, I spend $1,125 on a brand new iPhone and get a $900 check back. $225 for a new iPhone cycle.

That's definitely another option! I personally go through the other companies for simplicity of not having to list or deal with buyers on something so large.

I actually had a device go "missing" this past year. Gazelle claimed it opened an empty box. I had pictures and receipts that the box was indeed not empty. I had the SN, IMEI, etc. Gazelle sent me a claim form and I had a check cut within 3 weeks. I was satisfied so I would still consider it a viable option for me.

and I saved 25% on Apple GCs

Besides the current Target offer, where else have your found Apple GC deals for 20%+ discount? Haven't upgraded my iPhone for a long time so I have never paid too much attention to Apple GC deals, but definitely upgrading to the new iPhone this fall, so thinking I need to start accumulating. TIA!

They should have insurance. If it was UPS I believe everything is insured for $100 without any upcharge. Might file a claim with UPS unless of course this was years ago.

I tried ebay for several of my iPhones that were in pristine condition (never touched without a screen protector and case and factory plastic still on the back of phone) but never got bids close to others.

I found decluttr pays more than gazelle and also minimal hassle.

We always are trading in a 3rd year phone as we upgrade every year one phone.
That phone gets passed down and that phone goes to DS which eventually gets traded in.
