Is $142/point for a 50-point BWV contract a good deal?
Good deal is subjective. Given that I've seen BWV going for low 110s on higher point contracts I personally don't think so but if it's the right UY, the point amount you want and are okay with paying a premium for a smaller contract you know will resell easily in the future then by all means.

I’d love to stay in the Bungalows… if they weren’t more expensive than the VGF Grand Villas 🙄
Just think of all the dole whips you could buy for the price of one of them! haha
I can’t speak for the bungalows but for the CCV cabins, I just couldn’t justify the points when a 2BR sleeps the same number of people at less than half the cost. Sure they’re nice but not THAT nice. But I am thankful for them for skewing The points chart.

So in this buyer’s market, are more people buying sleep-around points or where they want to stay? I already have a where I want to stay contract. We’re debating on another where I want to stay contract or just buy sleep around points so we can get more. Any advice from those of you with multiple contracts?
we're taking this chance to buy where we want to stay! we got our foot in the door with our first contract at OKW last year but didn't realize how tough availability was for BWV...so now we're adding on a small contract to guarantee a trip there at least every few years!

IMO no, you are paying $7.42 per year in capital costs as there are only 19 years left on the contract. This years dues were $8.485, which now totals $15.90 per point. This will of course go up ever years with the increase of dues.

we are in ROFR for a 60 point contract there for $140 a point. maybe it's too high but it's our use year and those small contracts go fast.

Some people don’t realize importance of home field advantage for the standard studio. They cost sometimes 40% less on points than other resorts. So even at a higher starting price, still cost less or the same in actual $.

Honestly, I gave up on finding a small point contract in my UY for BWV and bought a baby contact direct about a year ago. While the current market seems to be in the 110-130pp range even on small contracts, paying a bit more for exactly what you want is worth it. I don't regret the direct points i bought at 205 because i got them when i needed them with no headaches... But in the year since, I've seen low point contacts in my UY dip into the 110s to 120s. While there are amazing deals to be had right now, 140pp at the resort you want in the UY you want isn't the best deal you'll find but it is unquestionably a very reasonable deal.
