***Official September 2022 Thread***

We also decided to drive halfway the Friday before our Saturday check in. Which will mean we will get to Disney by late morning/lunch time. Excited to have a little extra time the first day!
Change of plans, inspired by @Clemsonsarah

(Original plan) Thursday (arrival day): Check into BWI, explore BWI, maybe visit the pool
Sunday: Move from BWI to GF for our split stay, slow play MK in the morning before resting up for MNSSHP Sunday night

(New plan) Instead of using up a park day Sunday morning at MK, go to Epcot on the arrival day instead:
Thursday: Check into BWI, walk over to Epcot for the evening, and eat at F&W booths
Sunday: Try for Topolino's, move from BWI to GF for our split stay, and enter MK at 4 PM for MNSSHP

So happy for you. I can feel your excitement through your post. :yay:

I'm seriously just realizing how busy the week that I'm going to be in WDW is for Disney overall. A big chunk of my time that's not at the parks is going to be absorbed by Disney news. On 9/8 it's Disney+ day so there's probably going to be lots of announcements for new shows and movies upcoming that I'll be interested in. And then 9/9 to 9/11 is D23, meaning on the 10th there's going to be the Parks and Resorts panel which will give all the details for upcoming parks projects. It's going to be kinda hard to keep up.

Planning is moving right along. Under 100 days!! Woot!

Tickets are purchased and park reservations added. We went ahead and added Genie + to our park days. We were going to do 3 days in parks but MNSSHP changed that so we are doing Epcot and MK and the party night instead.

We did decided to drive down the day before so we could take full advantage of Stormalong Bay on check in day. Got a great rate at Marriott's Grande Vista for a 2 bedroom.

I think we're all set except dining reservations and we aren't looking for any hard to get restaurants; Raglan Road and Whispering Canyon. The rest are walk up.

Getting excited!!

Ooooh I kinda forgot about LTT! When you do a pre-party dinner what time do you try for?

Where do you order groceries from for delivery to the resort?

We’ve done garden grocer in the past and instacart. Researching prices and options a bit more this time around.
We always use Garden Grocer as we have never had a problem with them. I know other options are cheaper, but I have seen some glitches with peoples reports.

We have used Dizzy Dolphin for the past three trips and have been very happy with them.

Hello! Family of 5 here, traveling between September 12-20!!

It's been a few years since we've been in the parks and we are eager to return to our Happy Place! We'll be staying offsite this time and renting a car as well. Tentatively planning 4-5 days in the parks, a day at Universal, in addition to some time spent poolside and checking out local attractions.

In regards to cooling towels, 2 trips ago we broke down and bought one of the Disney cooling towels, and we loved it!! So last trip, I got froggtogg cooling towels for everyone. I usually don’t give in to the Disney hype in these types of things, but the Disney cooling towel was much better. I plan to buy at least one more on this trip. We also bring cheap neck fans. On thier own, they are so so, but if you combine them with a cooling towel so that they are actually moving moist cool air, they do a pretty good job. Obviously staying hydrated is a big concern. On the last two trips we noticed we were drinking less because of masks. Now that that restriction is gone, I’m hoping we’ll stay on top of it better.

As for ADRs, we are really hoping for Cinderella’s Castle for our first night because it will be my birthday. I have a couple non park options in mind as back up. We usually get Liberty Tree Tavern and 50’s Prime Time. I’m considering trying for Sci Fi diner this trip because they’ve added a couple specialty burgers we are interested to try. I’ve avoided it the last 2 post pandemic trips since the reservations are so hard to get and they’ve been mostly burgers that you can get at a lot if QS restaurants.

I think I am going to try for around 4:30. We are going to MK that morning too so if we end up getting Genie+ I can see having a few LL to hit after dinner but before the party officially starts at 7. I just don't know yet if Genie+ will be necessary but will definitely get it if crowds continue into the fall.

You got to leave the magic band stash in the suitcase. Then you can always find them. :)

I like that idea ... nice and neat :). Thanks, I might try that!
(I have the top small drawer in my dresser dedicated to Disney stuff we need for the parks - bands, hard tickets, redemption card, gift cards, etc. Oh and ears :D)
