90 day recovery status?

I just send a mail about this. I have the same question with my daughter of 3

Yes, any kids who are not vaccine eligible will get the 90 day exemption from both tests, the 3 day to 24 hour prior test and the test at the port. What you can't do is substitute the 90 day exemption for the vaccine requirements for any vaccine eligible participants.

Thanks for the reply. I have the same answer from Inspire.
My husband and I had also been tested positive but recieved 3 doses of vaccine (already 3 in Belgium). So could you confirm we can be exempted of the test at the port ?
Thanks

As long as you are within 90 days of your cruise and upload your positive test results and doctor’s note clearing you to travel

Nope, only way to be exempted is to test positive between 11 and 90 days prior to your cruise date because the sensitive nature of the PCR tests can still pick up a positive result after recovery up to 90 days post infection, so DCL doesn't want those people who test positive post infection to be denied boarding. A lot of people in the US have their third dose as well and DCL doesn't treat those with 2 or 3 doses any different to my knowledge.

Then it's ok. We have been tested today and will leave on 15 April, so in 78 days.

We are just back from our Jan 22 Magic cruise out of Miami. This was our second cruise since cruising restarted. Back in September we had no real worry about testing positive at port as we were careful but this cruise we were worried because of Omicron spreading so rapidly.

My husband tested positive on December 31st on an at home rapid test. Could not get an appointment for a PCR test anywhere that week. Our daughter told us about at home monitored PCR kits from Vault Health and I ordered them out of desperation. They were $98 each. They arrived and we both took them via a one on one zoom with a monitor. We had to spit in vials and then mail them away. We had results in 48 hours. I tested negative and my husband tested positive (10 days after his rapid test). I had a feeling he would be one of those that keep testing positive after recovery and test positive at the port so made an appointment for him at the doctor. I explained on the phone why he was coming in and they had no problem with it and said to send what I needed in the letter (posted a few pages back). I uploaded his positive PCR and doctor note and he was cleared for the 90 day exemption. His doctor doesn't use letterhead so wrote everything needed on a script pad.

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott by the airport for two nights (moved our flight to a day earlier as I was worried about airline crew outages and that flight had been cancelled all the prior week). An Uber to the port for 2 people was $17.

We arrived at the port in Miami for our 11:00 am PAT (they held us outside until 11:10). Had our QR scanned. We went through security and were handed test kits and I explained that my husband was claiming the 90 day recovered and they took his test pouch back but they never rechecked his QR code so I guess by scanning the one QR code (on the PAT form) it shows status for everyone in group. He was able to be with me for the test and in the waiting area. The test was in a cubicle with a staff member and it is a self test with swap mid way up nose for 5 seconds each nostril. We had to write our name and DOB on label which they adhered to the tube.

We were ushered up the escalator to a waiting room for results. It's a big room with plenty of seating but set up for social distancing. Several TV monitors around. Lists of reservation numbers would appear on the screen and say either "Terminal" or "Inspire Consult". Unfortunately, there were several "Inspire Consults" on the screens while we were there. I made a trip to the rest room and saw all the people waiting for their consult (other end of terminal) and it was so sad. When each new group of reservation numbers appeared you would hear people clapping and see them hugging. I can't tell you how stressful those 30-40 minutes were waiting on your test results and what a relief it was when you saw "Terminal" on the screen. Once cleared you proceeded to embarkation photo if you wanted (we passed) and then through the looong gangway to the ship.

Once onboard you were directed to a circle on the floor and watched a short intro show with Mickey and Minnie. Then you were directed to your muster station and checked in there. Then you were free to go have lunch or do what you wanted. We ate in Cabanas and then headed to the adult pool. We changed in the restroom and enjoyed the empty pool area all afternoon. Cabins were ready by 3 pm.

There were approximately 650 guests onboard. It was empty. No lines for anything. Cabanas was empty all the time for breakfast or lunch. Got a seat by the pool anytime we wanted. While all that was great it was also somewhat sad. I really missed the energy and vibe more guests bring. The CM's were fantastic as always but you could tell they didn't like just standing around. There were more crew onboard than guests. I was able to get Palo Brunch by texting the dining team through the app upon boarding. Got a 10 am brunch on our Nassau day for 4 people. Our room said yesterday's cruise was supposed to have about 1100 guests onboard.

All in all it was still a great cruise with great weather (a bit cool one day). I would cruise again during this time if I could. Cab from port to airport was a flat rate of $27. Any questions as away.

Thanks for those details. My next cruise is in about 80 days and I have decided to test and test and test (antigen). I find that fact that your husband's PCR test showed positve that long after a home test interesting and good to know as I had thought about how fast I can get a PCR and if the results still show postitive days after my antigen. I don't want to have Covid, but seeing how so many are getting it with zero symptoms etc..I figure knowing I have it and having it documented is only a bonus when it comes to my future cruise.

Be aware an issue with the antigen tests is they're a lot less sensitive. If you do have an asymptomatic or very mild case, it's possible the antigen test won't catch it, but a PCR test will. My wife tests regularly for her school and came up positive on a PCR test, didn't have any symptoms, but took a rapid antigen test after her positive PCR test and it came up negative. Antigen tests like that are much more if you have symptoms and want to find out if your symptoms are due to COVID or something else.

We unfortunately have Covid in the house. We had been thinking about taking a cruise during the kids spring break. My question is the does the 90 day recovery expire on the 90th day or is it technically the 91st day? My daughter tested positive Jan. 22, and exactly 90 days later is when we would leave.. April 22. Thanks! Sorry if it's a silly question!

People have different answers. I'd call Safe Passage directly to get a solid answer from them. Their number is 1-877-250-5132 and their email is DCLsupport@inspirediagnostics.com if you want to get it in writing.

My husband had zero symptoms and only decided to test was on the 27th we found out our son tested positive (had a pcr test on the 21st and took that long for his results). He had minor symptoms. We could not find any at home tests and just happened to hear that our local CVS had tests in stock. I ran down there and picked up 6 which was the limit. Trying to get a PCR test was another hurdle. I was very relieved once I had his doc uploaded to Safe Passage and he was cleared. Then we just had to worry about me and our friends testing positive at the port. Good luck with everything.

Has anyone aquired a 90 day documentation of recovery through a telehealth service like QuickMD? My PCP is refusing to write "cleared for travel" on my documentation of recovery note due to liability issues. It's maddening!!! So I am running out of time for my cruise 1/31. My 10 day post COVID date is 1/26/22. I was just curious if anyone had used QuickMD. They are real doctors and claim to be able to generate a letter immediately after your telehealth visit that follows CDC guidelines.

my girlfriend and I used MDanywhere, because my Primary Physician wrote me letter, but was not able to sign it. We specified that it needed to be signed, and for some reason the Doctor had no way to sign it and fax it over. I had the complete letter, but did not want to risk it without a signature.

So, we scrambled and tried our luck with Telehealth. It was $70 per person for the letters from MDanywhere. You have to upload a picture of your ID and the Positive PCR test with your full name, date of positive test, person that reviewed the test, and lab name. There’s a 4 or 5 page questionnaire to fill out as well. They ask the day you first had symptoms and write your Safe To Travel Date according to that. The letter arrives within an hour or two as a message on your account.

We submitted my girlfriend’s first and it was approved the next day, but we were only Clear To Arrive, not Clear To Sail. After we submitted mine (a week later due to Primary Physician issue) it was approved within 2 hours and our group status changed to Clear To Sail.

Hope this helps. We were really stressing about it, so hope this alleviates some stress for people.

4 of my familiy of 7 have tested positve these past two weeks and we sail on Feb 7th. I've submitted most of the letters needed, but the waiting for approval is so stressful! I've now just recenlty realized (after my isolation) that I can't smell or taste very well. In your opinion, would that be a deal breaker for you on a cruise? I've never done a cruise and was hoping to enjoy the food. :/ ...and we've been through so much to get to this point of almost being able to go!!!!!, i can't decide whats worth it anymore!

Loss of sense of taste/smell can go away quickly or last months. I don't know if I would put my life on hold and wait for it to go away. Look at it this way, it might be the first cruise that you don't feel miserable after and have not gained a ton of weight.

Yes and I’ve started to realize I’m just going to be grateful if I get to go! Thanks!!

It's a shame I didn't know about this option before It was too late for my cruise. I tested positive at home early in the month did a tele health with VA said there was no point in coming in for a test and possibly exposing others. So I never had a positive test with a doctor. I never really got symptoms other than some tiredness and a stuffy nose. Now I get white knuckle the testing part at the port on Monday praying I don't test positive.

Do you have the ability to get a pcr test today? Where I live we are past our omicron peak and pcr test results are coming back in less than 24 hrs & same day appointments are available. We tested this Thursday and had results by noon on Friday. I was not expecting to get them until this morning (Saturday).

We sail on Monday too, so I empathize with your stress.

I live in Kissimmee around WDW. I’ll just get tested at the port and hope I test negative either way. Even if I tested positive yesterday or today it’s still a possibility I don’t Monday so I may as well try. I really only waste my time driving and such if I’m turned away.

I was just annoyed that I didn’t see the 90 day exemption thing from Disney anywhere until I got to the portal for the vaccination card and by the time I saw it there it was too late to be within the window.

I thought I was doing the right thing by not wasting a test and potentially exposing others but it kinda put me in a bind without knowing it.

It just hit me that most of us never even thought to get recovered documentation, if we were to have a Covid infection, strictly for the purpose of cruise planning.

And now people are realizing It doesn’t hurt to screen a few weeks or months ahead of time In case you had Covid, having that PCR result in a doctors note is in away become a travel pass.

We are a family of three, my wife, my daughter(1 year old), and me. We got covid around jan 15, we felt the symptoms, and probaly got it from a close relative. Any ways, are sailing date is feb 5, the problem is that we never got tested on a designate testlab or clinic, we only did home test. i dont know by doing telehealth (quickmd), is going help me get the 90-day-recovery approved. By the way we took the test today, but it take some days to get the results back, also we are in good health now. Can any one suggest what to do, any help would be appreciated, thanks
