***** February 2022 Thread *****

Do you mind me asking if there was a particular brand you'd recommend? I never knew there was such a thing as an epsom salts foot rub!
Please tell me more about this. So it's a rub as opposed to having to soak your feet?

This is the one I have. I know at least four of us used this tube last trip for our entire trip and I still have plenty for this coming trip for hubby and I. I hope if y'all get some that it works for y'all as wonderful as it works for us. I would put this one after I showered right before bed and never had any foot pain the next day.

We booked our transportation to our resort yesterday! After reading the positive reviews on here, we are going to use Tony Hinds! Now to get my princess half outfit figured out!
This is who I booked as well. It will be our first time using him but he came so highly recommended that I just bit the bullet and did it.

So we have been discussing how we are physically getting ready for our trips which are so so close. I'm wondering how you are mentally and emotionally getting ready for your trip. How are you psyching yourself up for it, if you even need to lol. I have still been watching vlogs but now I'm gonna be watching more live streams from the parks and the resort tour videos for the resorts we are staying in. I love the 4K ones. I will also watch the ones that will be coming out covering Festival of the Arts. Can't wait to see these! I also listen to a YouTube channel that plays main street park music. The other thing I did is I downloaded Disney music onto my phone. I have music from all of my favorite rides that I listen to on my way home from work and it really gets me so excited for when I get to hear them in person. Two of the songs I downloaded are You are the Magic and the Magic is Calling. Oh boy I hate to admit it but I usually end up crying in my car when I hear them lol. I am just so emotional and I know I'll cry when I hear those in the parks. Anyone else a big emotional crybaby when it comes to Disney? I know I will ugly cry again when I enter MK for the first time this trip. Anyway that is what I'm doing to get myself psyched. What are you doing?
I need to start watching some more Vlogs. I haven't been watching any before this trip. I should though. Who are your faves to watch? My poor husband has been having to put up with me playing Disney songs in the car. He tolerates it, but I give him a break every now and then LOL. Oh, I will definitely get emotional when I walk through those tapstiles, especially at MK. Hubby just rolls his eyes at me. I'm on a new medicine for some health issues I have going on and they are making me extra emotional so if they don't change the meds before the trip I might just be a blubbering idiots when I walk into MK this trip. It's a good thing I have transitional lenses on my glasses so maybe it will hide a little bit of the tears.

We are watching videos on YouTube and waiting for all the news for Festival of the Arts. We are also reviewing our packing list and updating it for Florida since we usually go to DLR on trips. Making sure we have everything early instead of waiting until the last minute of things. Heck I would pack now I'd I could.
Do you have a favorite YouTube person you like to watch for Disney?

I already have the stuff I have bought already thrown in my suitcase lol
Ummm, I may or may not be guilty of this as well. :rolleyes1

The Happy Planner has a super adorable Disney line right now, so I purchased a journal and a sticker pack to use as a trip planner / memory keeper of our trips! Also watching walkthroughs of resorts gets me super excited! I especially like to watch the resort ones because I get to see a lot of places we haven’t stayed yet :goodvibes

Sounds fun. I need to check out the other resort walk through just to see the ones I really wanna stay in.

It really depends on what we want to watch but my favorite all around is 4K WDW. Their videos are mostly walking around parks and hotels and DS or taking park transportation around the resort. There is no narration just Disney ambience. I personally like the walk they do between HS and Epcot, when it rains here I just put it on my TV and walk in place in my living room. It's almost like being there lol.

We also like Resort TV1 and Cory's World for their lives streams. We generally have them on if we are home when they go live and have it on in the background while we plan and go about our evening. These YouTubers have been our Disney fix since WDW reopened until we could take a trip.

We also like Disney Food Blog for news and food related info. Can't wait for their FARTS (Festival of the Arts) food video. It makes me giggle every time AJ calls it that. 😄

I agree with gerilyne on 4k WDW for the great walk through videos. They are so nice because they aren't constantly talking so you can really get an idea of the ambiance. For the more informative ones I love Molly and the gang with her, TimTracker and Paging Mr Morrow. Got a lot of great information from them.

Oh we are also debating what to do on our arrival night. We don't want to schedule any ADRs for it so we aren't committed to one plan and can do what we are in the mood to do. My DBF and I spend an embarrassing number of hours thinking up ideas.

I debated so much about this. Didn't know if I should make an ADR or not. Finally decided after seeing a lot of good reviews on Steakhouse 71 to go ahead and make a reservation. I figure I can change my mind in the next few weeks.

Does Tony Hinds have a website that I can check out? We already have Mears scheduled but I'd change if Tony Hinds is better. Would like to know how much he charges.

Along with the great suggestions above, we love Here With the Ears - their room tours are particularly helpful. They lived at Disney World for a year and stayed in most of the room types on property.

Thanks guys. I have seen and heard of most of them but haven't ever seen the 4K WDW so I'll check that out. I think I have seen some of all of the others though. Just need to get back into checking them out for newer stuff.

Adjusted our trip back a week so we will now be going 1/29-2/3. It is coming up so quickly. We usually book way far in advance so this is a strange feeling. Panicking a little lol, but i think thats because we’ve never been during this time of year and we’ve never gone just father/son so im afraid im going to forget or miss something.

He doesn't have a website. You have to email him at aobh607@gmail.com and he will answer any questions you have. He is usually pretty quick to get back unless he is driving. He comes highly recommended in the transportation forum.

I understand the nerves but how exciting. That's so close. I bet you guys will have a fantastic trip even if you forget something.
Things are finally starting to seem real now that we are in the home stretching leading up to our trip.

My favorites are DFB for news and updates and Paging Mr Morrow for whatever experience he has planned that day. He (Nate) is more entertainment than news but he does put out a few nuggets he experiences as well.

We will be there 2/13 to 2/18 and will be staying offsite this time. My husband, my 6y daughter and myself will be going. Our daughter does not know and thinks we are going to a beach.

I also wanted to mention that this will be the first time we are staying offsite and not making dinner reservations, and we also are not planning to use the Genie+ or whatever it’s called. I’m hoping it will be a good trip.

Fingers crossed!!

I had no intentions of making ADRs for everyday but the hubby prefers those meals so he talked me into it. I would be fine packing a sandwich each day and then snacking the rest of the day. If I do Genie+ it will be at MK and HS and then possibly purchasing ILL for a few things. I am kind of waiting to see how wait times are closer to the trip to decide for sure though.

We went last February and we could not asked for a better weather that week. We did make a few dining reservations only because of my daughter and my 8y nephew who was on his first Disney trip and we wanted him to experience as much as he could. Crowd were a bit high that week but we are going a week earlier this February so hopefully it will be slightly better this time.

This will be my 8th Disney trip, my husband’s 5th, and my daughter’s 4th trip.
