DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Another clear, cold day here. Snow has melted away at 34 degrees. Watching shows on Amazon Prime so I can avoid commercials on Hulu.

:thumbsup2 I don't quite live on Amazon Prime, but I do watch plenty of shows on there because I can avoid the commercials. And what I don't find on Netflix, I usually can find on Prime, or vise versa.

Didn't make it thru the last job interview round, so now, just waiting on the hospital offer. I guess if that falls through, then it's back to the application process. It's nice to not have to make that decision that involved working that many hours, but it would have been nice to have the offer.

Sorry to hear that, but like pkondz said, it's almost like you didn't really want it.

You were out living though. It's best when you can get both.

This is true, I'll feel it later when I'm an old man, but, I was living.

I think that's a good investment. Seriously.

Seriously was. The Mrs. grimaced at the price, but after spending 8 hours in this chair today, ok, not really 8 hours when you factor in bathroom breaks and lunch, you get the picture, my back feels wonderful. At the end of the day I had energy, something I never had with my old chair. And as for my back? My old chair would have left me walking bent over from back pain. Not this chair.

Gee, rub it in, why don'tcha?

Ok. :lmao:

Slept okay. Went to bed around 12:45am and slept until the dog woke me at 5:30am. So almost 5 hours.

Well that's good. I mean, some sleep is better than no sleep. Right? If it makes you feel better, I'm usually up at least 3 times to hit the head, medication makes me do that. There have been times when I wake up at 2 to go to the bathroom only to lay awake the rest of the night, so I do understand.

I'm at least fortunate that in my lack of sleep, I don't have to get up for bathroom breaks. But... quite familiar with waking up far too early and... "Whelp! That's it for the night!"

Morning, Gents! Day 6 of work, Day1 of working from home, is in the books and I'm loving the job. It was interesting experience working from home yesterday. I kind of thought there'd be more distractions, to tell you the truth. I thought I'd pop online from time to time, like taking short breaks, but even then I really didn't. Well, I did get on Pandora radio for some music, and popped onto the Dis late in the afternoon but that was it. Once work started I was focused on getting the work done, so I like this working from home thing. I do miss going into the office and having that comradery with everyone in the office, but this is certainly nice. Well, gents, that's all for now. Have a good day, and we'll chat throughout.

For me it's, well, the bathroom breaks, but I'm also a morning person and used to getting up real early for work, so it's a hard habit to break. I use to get up at 3:30 am everyday for work for 3.5 years, so when I wake up early, I'm up. I have since retrained my body to sleep to at least 5am, most days I'm up at 4:30 am, but it's still hard habit to break.

Morning all,

Beware the camel in the tent - Mawer

Something going on today?

Sorry about not making the interview, but it sounds like you wouldn't have taken it anyways?

Probably not. It would have been nice to have the option.

:thumbsup2 I don't quite live on Amazon Prime, but I do watch plenty of shows on there because I can avoid the commercials. And what I don't find on Netflix, I usually can find on Prime, or vise versa.

We ditched Netflix for the Hulu, Disney, ESPN bundle. I liked Netflix because there were no commercials, which is what we get with Prime. Half the time, I don't pay attention to what's on.

When DW got sent home with the pandemic, she didn't like the desk & chair I had. So, we bought new ones for her and she really likes having the chair upgrade.

Was chatting with my youngest DD and she asked "Do you still see that guy that you missed seeing on your trip?"

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You're never going to live that one down.

But Rob is a terrific dinner companion. I can vouch for him.

I'm loving the job.

I'm just glad you can finally type that sentence!

Morning folks. Another day in paradise. Supposed to warm up considerably today, but just today.
+2C/36F today! Unheard of for January. But tomorrow back down to our regularly scheduled program of -21C/-5F.

Very weird.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it. I suspect a lot of people are going to have to be dragged kicking and screaming if/when they go back to the office to work at some point.

I get that. As a shift worker, my patterns are all over the map. Funny... or maybe the right term is "awful" how work can mess with you so much.
Probably not. It would have been nice to have the option.
Get that. You'd rather make the choice than someone else.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You're never going to live that one down.
Nope!

Maybe some day. :) Despite missing him, that was a fun road trip. Wouldn't mind repeating it.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Been a bit but glad to see the Grand Puba / CBO is back to keep the place in order. Quickly reviewed the place and seems all are doing o.k. Been a crazy week as I accepted a new position / promotion at work so transferring some of my current teams to new leadership and taking on some new functions. Sorry I missed the Saturday night chat but that was DS last day at home so we hung out. Good luck with the new jobs, finding the new job, getting used to kid off at college for the first time, surviving Canadian winters and in general staying safe! Cheers guys!

Wait, are you being sworn in today to your new job?

Congrats on the promotion Mike.

Hey, Gents. While I'm waiting for someone to get back to an email, I thought I'd take a moment to hope on. Have a good afternoon.

We ditched Netflix for the Hulu, Disney, ESPN bundle. I liked Netflix because there were no commercials, which is what we get with Prime. Half the time, I don't pay attention to what's on.

My DD lives on Netflix. There are several shows on there that she watches all the time, one show I've even gotten in to: Carmen Sandiego, based off the game and original kids game show but changed so that Carmen is the good character instead of a thief.

When DW got sent home with the pandemic, she didn't like the desk & chair I had. So, we bought new ones for her and she really likes having the chair upgrade.

The chair makes all the difference in the world. I haven't had any problems since I've upgraded.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You're never going to live that one down.

But Rob is a terrific dinner companion. I can vouch for him.

That's funny.

I'm just glad you can finally type that sentence!

I know, right?! So happy right now.

Well, the weather is weird right now all over. There were days in December I was walking around with no coat on.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it. I suspect a lot of people are going to have to be dragged kicking and screaming if/when they go back to the office to work at some point.

A lot of people will hate going back to the office, and I'm sure I'll be one of them, but I do love going in to the office, so I suspect it wouldn't be to bad for me.

I get that. As a shift worker, my patterns are all over the map. Funny... or maybe the right term is "awful" how work can mess with you so much.

Yeah, see shift work is bad for sleep patterns. Sorry you have to put up with that, my friend.

pffftt... I can walk around outside any day in winter without a coat.

Maybe not for very long... but I can do it.

Ah well. Came with the territory.

Morning guys from the wheels down side of the week. Just finalising my plan to invade Denmark. They are driving me nuts over here. There's a guy over there who is supposed to be our technical expert. I am just battering him with questions and I'm getting nothing back, he either plays dumb, says work it out on site, or just plain ignores me. Then seems to think he's the only guy in history thats ever designed a rack to go into a store. I can't work something out on site if I am legally prevented to go into the country, numb nuts.

Rant over. Carry on.

Nice one mate, congrats! I think you should go and buy some more technology for your garden, so it properly looks like a Best Buy on Black Friday. Or some LEGO, obviously.
Wait, are you being sworn in today to your new job?
That don't pay enough for Mikey. Gotta git them dollar dollar bills y'all.
It's nice to not have to make that decision that involved working that many hours, but it would have been nice to have the offer.
Things happen for a reason buddy. I'm sure something that ticks all your boxes will come through. You know you've always got your Budgie Smuggler Modelling contract to fall back on.

Onwards and upwards, mi amigos.....

Where's the Tylenol?

Morning, Fellas! On the downhill slide to the weekend, so it's not much longer now. Not much to say this morning, so enjoy the day and we'll chat later.

TTFN

Mr. Stud Muffin.

Ah well. Came with the territory.

Oh, so you knew the job was dangerous when you took it? :thumbsup2

So how are you going to do it, old school? Knew school? If old school, you'll need some trebuchets and several large stones. Might be easier to go new school. Kidding aside, that sucks. Is this normal from this guy? Wait! I remember you complaining about this guy. If this is the same guy, then I think its time to launch him from a trebuchet.

Well, the dis decided to NOT notify me about new posts here since I was also looking at other threads. Think it has 2 or 3 thread limit on notifications which stinks. Anyway...I have a few pages to catch up.

You may be trying to re-claim the country, which may not be a bad idea, but why would y'all really want it
Especially now. I fought fir this country and I'm past disgusted at what we've become.

There are harder core people at most everything. Sometimes, it to find better tea. Other times, it's to put on a deer hat and ...
I love hot tea and always looking for good ones.
HEY!! it was a squirrel hat! I'm not THAT bad.

I get bonus, which is partly driven by sales. And I would like to get above Jelly of the month club level.
At Lego prices, probably more like cavier of the month club.

they call the "Playground."
:woohoo:

This allows people to sign in a training portal to continue to learn without messing up an actual patients records
Oh! :sad2:

I hate having to remember passwords, so I downloaded an app called Password Keeper that allows me to track my passwords
I've tried several. I'd recommend awallet. Best I've found. One great thing about it...if I get new phone, I can transfer db to new phone and good to go. Most of the others won't or can't do that unless you buy the premium version.
