So, double checked on CL and it is actually $5,000, so...I may hold off on closing. I am thinking about applying for the CIU by end of January. Would it benefit me to leave the CIP alone until then? I’m not desperate for the $95 back, but I also don’t want to pay it if I’m not going to use the card. I figured I could revisit PC/close after applying for the CIP. I must sound like I’m going in circles. Lol I don’t know why I have in my head that it’s a bad thing to close or PC a card?
Do you have CIC? It's my most used Ink card for the 5% back on internet and phone. That would be my choice for a PC.

I did better when I was doing fuel points as well. But, now I need so little gas it is no longer an option. So, maybe I can just count my fuel savings as 'Disney' money.
We haven't been driving alot either this year, but we have made 5 trips to Hilton Head. We snuck in a trip last weekend when the Disney resort had availability at the last minute. Hope you have a great holiday!

Just had the most annoying conversation with DH. Lol. I realized I got the Ink referral email but I’m next up on the CC front so I really need DHs link.

me- hey honey can you check your emails for a Chase ink business referral
Him- oh here is one for Southwest referrals.
me- no, I need one for the Ink biz cards
Him- oh, here is one about Ink. I don’t see anything about referrals but it looks like some kind of newsletter.
me- no, I don’t need a newsletter, do you see an email that says refer any Chase Ink card
Him- oh, here is something from American Express, is that it? 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂

I gave up after that. Lol. Will have to figure out how to check for myself later. My typed replies are probably much nicer than they actually were. Lol

This would be the exact conversation in our house as well 🤣

Also I’m in the same boat. Need DH’s referral link and can’t generate one 😡 also 0 emails for Ink. This has been a lesson learned for me, copy link when it’s available. Now I just wait, hoping for either email or Chase website to start working again 😏

I wish you luck

Sometimes I'm glad my DH is too lazy to have his own email. We share an email because he can't be bothered to have one. He was mad when they gave his work email to customers so they can contact him more easily. 🤣

I have the Hybrid and when I fill it, it's in the $15 range plus I've had to buy gas only a few times since March. I did fill the van last month sometime as I used it to carry stuff. Probably could have used fuel points for that if I'd had any, but even collecting them is super small as daughter has been getting stuff delivered from Wegman's and I do Costco mostly plus a little Aldi. We've changed our patterns significantly.

I'm looking forward to using my Freedom at Costco for 5% next month. Hopefully it's considered a warehouse store.

I envy you those Hilton Head trips! I'm going in March even if I'm there by myself - still not sure if family will be coming.

Question. I play to call Chase and ask to downgrade my Sapphire Preferred card today. Depending on their offer I might keep the card... or I might really downgrade. If I do choose to downgrade, does that count as opening a new account? And hurt my credit score (by lowering the age of my account)>

No, a product change is not a new account.

I was just coming here to ask this question.... any problems with apping for another CiC if I already pc'd my CiP to one? Can I hold 2?

My Easter trip to Naples is a mess thanks to SW flight changes. I cannot sit in Atlanta airport for seven hours with two teens. All three of us will not make it to SW Florida alive. Silver lining is it looks like I can save 46k rr points rebooking but am probably going to need to book a 6 AM flight. So again, all three of us may not make it to SW Florida alive.

Kids are at WDW with their dad and step-mom this week. DD is giving me the play-by-play which is amusing since both ds and my ex are incredibly impatient and hate wearing masks.

Instant approval on a CFU this morning (for the grocery perk) via a support link from DH's login. Not surprised at the instant approval.

Next question: DH has a lot of new-construction jobs coming up (he's an electrician), so a MSR isn't much of an issue with the amount of supplies he'll be needing. He's getting a CIU "pre-approval" in the mail on at least a weekly basis (currently has a CIP and is 0/24.) I would PREFER for him to get this card via a support link from my CIP, but he also doesn't want to keep a bunch of active cards because it's just too much for him to keep track of mentally and he doesn't like the idea of having a bunch of different cards in general. Am I correct in assuming that if he does a PC from the CIP to a CIU that he will NOT get a SUB/MSR offer? If this is the case we will cancel his CIP when the AF hits in a few months. We obviously wouldn't get the support bonus if he did a PC.....that's like an $850 negative issue. And I would keep my CIP for the travel multiplier since that's the only thing we use URs for....unless one the free sapphire card has the same multiplier?

Additionally, am I correct in thinking about buying Disney GCs from lowes....i'm pretty sure I have at least one 20% lowes offer in my chase account right now. There would be no issues with doing that? I'm remembering people having problems with GCs and bonuses, but my brain is mush today and maybe that was buying a gift card with a gift card?

I am not sure what a CIB is? There is the Ink Cash (CIC) and Ink Unlimited (CIU).

AmEx is the problem child card during MSR. You are fine to use your Chase cards.

Sorry...LOL! CIU. I'll go edit my post. He's actually gotten a couple of different offers for that card....$500 and $750.

PC will never give SUB unless you have a specific offer for it (example is usually an offer to upgrade a card and get points, AMEX sometimes does this for their high end cards) As for CIC/CIU, AFAIK there is nothing prohibiting multiples of same card. Or PC a CIP to CIC and then app for CIU. As long as you have one CIP or CSR/CSP you can use the travel portal or transfer to partners or PYB. None of the no AF cards has access to those.

Costco is definitely a 5% category for warehouse clubs. I usually just buy $1500 worth of Costco GC online and use them to pay for store purchases, so I know I used the benefit fully. Since I PC'd my CSP to a 2nd CF, I am shifting phone and cable/internet bills to my 2nd one from DH's CIP which we will PC next month to a no-fee business card.

My tv from Dell arrived yesterday (wasn't supposed to arrive until 1/4) and my $200 Dell credit and $30 Amex offer just credited.

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting on DD's airpod pros. According to Costco the new pair may arrive tomorrow but honestly I'm not holding my breath since USPS is super unreliable right now. And I did for the first time give my mail carrier $20 for Christmas this year because he's super nice and I know this had to have been such a tough year.

Technically not legal for postal carrier to accept cash or gift cards. I gave $20 to each of our garbage guys but if our mail carrier was nay good I'm not sure what I would do for him.

Yes, I realize that. He left me a card so he was gently soliciting.
