A Ton! Of reservations just opened up Nov-Dec!

I also modified 2 reservations. I’m ok if they just put them back where they were originally. I’m not ok with them cancelling them because I made a good faith modification without having any idea it was an accident. None of us knew it was an accident. $25 isn’t going to cut it for me. Just put them back where they were. I have the emails to prove it.
 
Someone just said they were told by a CM that modified reservations will hold. I’m waiting to hear if that means they’ll go back to their old times or stay at the new ones. Has anyone had any reservations cancelled yet?
 
I’m there next week. I had ressies at 4 places and tweaked them for better times. I just checked. There is NOTHING I can book... absolutely no times at any of the places I modified. If they cancel them the $25 is meaningless to me.

This makes me feel so bad for all of you that are going that soon. I have a month and a half to TRY to replace mine, but with those of you going soon, there's really no hope and really messes up all of your plans :sad1:

What’s even more annoying is that in a couple of cases I moved ressies from 2:45 to 12:30. I would have been happy to keep the original one. Ugh
 
I just got off the phone with her....she said every table was taken..ugh
I wouldn’t be comfortable with that...I am not eating inside at restaurants here in New York.
She is living in Florida currently so she wasn’t necessarily bothered by it and has experience with it.
So the question is...did Disney raise capacities at restaurants or was it a glitch and they didn’t rectify it early enough.
I had several different news stories showing up in my feed saying different things. My local NBC affiliate even covered the story saying they raised capacity.
So are all tables being filled in WDW restaurants? With no social distancing? Is there anywhere to check for sure?
 
I'm gonna cry. We are a party of 8 that had to split into parties of 4 for lots of reservations. I was able to get parties of 8, so I cancelled all the parties of 4. And now there's nothing. Like Chef Mickey on Thanksgiving morning, I had 2 parties of 4 at 11:10 and 11:20, but I was able to get a party of 8 at 11:05 so I took it. Now if they cancel I've got nothing. $25 won't help.
 
What is really irritating about this right now is that I've seen nothing "official" from Disney themselves. Not an email/Tweet/post, not a peep. If they've already decided to do this, there should have been a mass email sent out, or something posted somewhere so that at least the people going very soon have an idea of what's going on and can (try to) adjust their plans. I don't understand why we're not hearing something from them (NOT someone's blog). Either they're cancelling them all, or they're not.

Just got off the phone with a CM after being on hold for almost 2 hours. She told me that according to the information she has in front of her, if you canceled an ADR after getting a new reservation on Tuesday, they are NOT able to get your original reservation back. 😭 She said they are NOT automatically canceling all new reservations made during the glitch. She said it is on a case by case basis depending on the restaurant and if it can accommodate the additional capacity. So hopefully some of us will get lucky and be able to keep some of our reservations we added on Tuesday. She also said there is not a certain time when all of the reservations are going to disappear from the system and all of a sudden new reservations will become available. They are just scaling back the reservations to get rid of the excess so she doesn’t foresee a lot of availability opening up. I don’t know how much of this was completely official vs her making assumptions. She was very sympathetic, told me about the $25 gift certificate But in a tone that clearly showed she realized that this was not much compensation for what we ha e lost, said to just keep checking the app and that CM‘s will be more than happy to help in our search for a new reservations if we call.

It’s also important to note that when I changed my 8pm CG reservation to 7:45pm, then that opened up an 8pm slot. Someone grabbed it because it isn’t there and hasn’t been for days. Who will they cancel, the person who made the 8pm reservation or me? What if a few people cancelled 7:45pm reservations for different ones once things opened up? Did I book one of their newly available times or a glitchy time? What a mess!

Thanks for your recon, but that is just sad and I think it will encourage ADR hoarding since there is no time frame for when your ADR could go “poof” and leave you with potentially nothing but a gift card and nowhere to spend it. I know they are in a tough spot, but this situation is pretty terrible and it’s not like IT glitches never happen to them. Time to fix things!

I have fingers, toes and other portions of my anatomy, which shall remain nameless, crossed! That’s the first bit of hopeful news I’ve heard... thank you for holding for those 2 hours!

Oh yeah that's interesting? I guess we'll see what happens. All my reservations are for 1, wonder if that'll make a difference.

And if it doesn't I'll just have to plan out all my QSRs or hope for same-day waitlists! :D
 
My TP reservation finder just went nuts and a bunch more Via Napoli options popped up? I booked one in case those are legit and thr ones from the other day get wiped.

I'm nervous - a Yak & Yeti popped up for lunch on Sunday next week when we are there. I booked it for the same reason...
