The Rumor Tracking Thread

I feel like they are over thinking it with Imagination ... Figment is already a great character and a unique IP to EPCOT and just redo the ride, more like the original version but with the latest technology, bring back the Dreamfinder, bring back more of the upstairs elements, etc. .... you don't need to reinvent the wheel just improve what is there

They should use Inside out as a newversion of Cranium Command at the Wonders of Life Pavilion (or even as part of the Play! pavilion)
I'm convinced many more people would find the ride more enjoyable if they simply switched the foul smell to one of apple pie (or something similar) in that segment. There is a lot of research that shows odors have an effect on experiences.

That said even if everyone still hated it, I'd be happier at least :)

Or even make it random - are you getting a nice smell or a not nice smell?

I think little variable elements like that could be added to a lot of attractions

I read the OP so I'm assuming no, but does anyone have any (even completely baseless lol) rumours on when the any of the All-Star resorts might open?

I wouldn’t expect them until they can open up more capacity and things get back to “more normal” which looks like not until sometime in 2021.

They can’t fill Pop right now and we know art of animation is ahead of the all stars in line, so I would guess next summer is the very earliest possible, we might not see them till 2022.

Gives them lots of time to finish those renovations!

Oh god, I hope not 2022, that means I wouldn't be able to go at all next year lol. I was originally booked this September at ASM and my tickets were extended to late September next year so I am hoping at least 1 will be open by then. If I'm to be frank, the cheapest offering right now, Pop Century, is not worth the almost $200/night I'm being quoted but I will book it if I absolutely have to.

I know attendance is down right now and I assume that's mostly due to international travellers staying home (I am in this group, Canadian) but once the US gets more of a handle on their COVID cases (I'm personally hopeful for some sort of vaccine by the spring perhaps - according to the vaccine tracker, there are 5 currently approved for early/limited use) and the borders start opening I imagine people will start returning pretty quickly. People around here are getting super ancy for their vacations (first world problem, I know).

I know it’s all personal preference but I would 100% take Pop over the All-stars. The Skyliner makes it so much more worth it for me.

Personally I'd just stay off site, at least as of right now with no EMH and for FP there's really almost no downside. If you don't want to rent a car, some hotels have shuttles, and if you stay at the Disney Springs area resorts you can just walk to Disney Springs or Saratoga Springs and take the bus from there.

I've stayed offsite a lot. It's fine! Really!

Would have to be Saratoga Springs to walk to as the buses from Disney Springs aren’t running to the parks currently.

Admittedly, I did stay pre-Skyliner but I didn't like the layout. I felt like it took too long to get from my standard room to the food court (which I did/will do a lot - reusable mug lol). The All-Stars are more compact and even from the standard rooms, not much of a walk.

Right now though it's mostly just due to cost for me. With the CDN exchange it basically works out to $250/night and that's really quite excessive (to me) for what amounts to a motel. It's a nice motel (as are the All-Stars/AoA) but they are still motels lol. Does the Skyliner really make that much of a difference? Is it quite a bit faster than the buses, less of a wait?

I have a stay hanging in the Cart for Pop for next September I'm just reluctant to book it (approx. $2,350CAD for me over 8 days) - the All-Stars would be like $500-600 cheaper after exchange. I guess I could book it and just switch it later.

I was considering this but my travelling companion (and sister lol) is adamantly against it. She wants her convenience and her "bubble".

I didnt realize pop wasnt getting filled, my favorite discounted booking site was booked up for my dates in november and disney didn’t have any discounted rooms available, im guessing there is always more rack rate inventory. Ditto that $200 a night before tax and parking at pop is too much... we were able to rent a saratoga dvc studio for less, with the tax and parking, it seems like disneys pricing for the lack of onsite benefits is just out of touch right now...

Per various WDWMagic sources...

Tron exterior work will continue until December and then be held until fall 2021 and then work to continue for a 2022 opening.

Guardians will see the same possibly billed for Epcot 40th.

Ratatouille won't be held that long but 2021 opening likely.

Non-related update

Peoplemover refurb extended to January 2nd, 2021.

That's not going to look embarrassing is it, not having your newest ride open in time for a 50th anniversary in the jewel in the Crown Park? They could have it open if they really wanted it to, but no we will refurbish a hotel instead.

It wouldn't be as embarrassing as missing a payroll or missing a debt payment. Disney is not at place were those two things could happen at this point, but because revenues are just a trickle compared to what they used to be so Disney needs to plan like it is possibility. That is why they are delaying as much expense as possible on capital improvements at the parks. Disney has to act like the world today is the medium term (or longer) reality.

I also think we have to look at reality. At best a vaccine won't be spread and usable until summer of 2021 at best. Makes setting up 2022 makes sense. It will take that long before everyone really trusts to travel, and begin spreading out again.
Disney can't make money on those expenses if folks aren't in the park to use them.

Universal seems to have no problems building a major coaster right now. I for one fully understand delays. The fact that this rumor indicates a stoppage of work for months doesn't make sense to me. I get not wanting to open an attraction right now but they also shouldn't be waiting well over a year either. If this is true I think it is absolutely dumb.

Totally agree. They seem to have the means to do it, it'll eat capacity & encourage more guests to come. I don't understand why they'd want to possibly stall this.
