Resale Resorts Riv eligibility

It looks more to me that it is likely some inexperienced person just made mistakes, e.g., whoever prepared the new waivers does not even know AKV is one DVC Resort, and thus there only 15 DVC Resorts, and probably just assumed otherwise because the reservation system is set up to allow members to reserve Jambo and Kidani separately.

Under the POS documents, there is only one AKV DVC. The only way it could legally be made into separate DVC's now is via a material change to the POS approved by an actual vote of all the members, i.e., DVD/DVC cannot do it without such a vote.

And since that is a mistake, the implication that Riviera is now resale friendly, when nothing formal has been issued by DVD/DVC to change the applicable language in all the POS-related documents for Rivera that say otherwise, is also likely not true.
Why update the Waiver at all though if this was the case?

That was my thought exactly. This is a standard document that they use all of the time. It isn't something they would be retyping every time they sell a contract. Someone went in there and changed it.
Are we sure they wouldnt convert the rest of AKV hotel side to DVC as a quick DVC property to sell with reflections shelved?

Interestingly when i login to DVC i have an option for Riviera, not sure if this was here before but when i perform a search i receive "No Resort Available". Can anyone confirm is this is normal behavior?

This is happening for me too. I will say as a resale owner I was previously able to view Riviera availability but receive an error when trying to book. Now I can select Riviera when searching but get no results and "No Resort Available".

Just spoke to a new guide since my last guide retired and asked about add-on contracts. We got into this discussion (as of 12:45 today) and he said that Riviera was still restricted for resale buyers and that if you purchase a Riviera resale contract you are restricted to only Riviera. Once again, he may be mistaken as well but just another data point.

I would imagine the change on the Website wont go live until they announce it if this is all true. But maybe this is a sign?

I can confirm guides do not have knowledge of this change.

Reflections is dead. I am certain. That is not to say there will never be a DVC there but it will not be soon and it will not be the project announced last year.

I promise.
Absolutely. It will likely go the way of the Pop expansion/AoA: the land will sit there for quite a while until they eventually circle back to it. Wouldn’t count on them coming back to it anytime soon.

Whatever this is indicating, I just like the wording still says Jan 2019 and not something really crazy like Oct 2020. Makes sense Disney breaks up AKV as two for using the 16 now, being they were sold on deed that way. Will be interested if anyone is signing a resale contract with that new wording yet.
They've always been that way, but you have had home resort privileges at both. I hope that doesn't change. Technically my home is Jambo.
My concern would be if they try to change AKL/AKV to being considered two different home resorts. When we bought, it was under the terms that both were one resort and we got home resort booking advantage at either one.

We didn't really have a say whether we were buying at Kidani or Jambo. It was just whichever one the contract happened to be for, and we were told it didn't matter because it was all one resort (in fact, I'm not sure you get to choose even if buying direct).

If they change to only being able to book Kidani with Kidani points at 11 months and vice versa with Jambo, that will cause quite a stir.
