Unknown. I’m in that boat of the post Jan 2019 and so far not able to on dvc site.
The broker doesn’t yet have a client that has points loaded into account with this new wording in their contract, so not able to test yet.

I just bought resale contract and it showed up in August and it definitely can not be used for RIV.

Honestly, until it is confirmed by Disney that resale contracts can be used there, I would not buy with that assumption.

We can still hope!!!

The broker Facebook page has a Facebook thread going on the topic showing the language before and after too. 14 resorts to now 16 resorts, which for whatever reason has AKL split into two.
Am I allowed to say the exact broker on here? I don’t want to get banned.

Correct,...but once you know it’s in the filter, nothing should be discussed either so preview first...and if it’s banned, don’t post since it will get deleted.

If they remove this restriction it could boost the resale value of RIV from $90-120 a point to $140-$165. I like this move as a RIV owner lol. Hope it ends up being true.

I agree although it kind of makes me wish I would’ve just bought a cheaper resort on resale and then I could just use those points to stay at RIV.

Interestingly when i login to DVC i have an option for Riviera, not sure if this was here before but when i perform a search i receive "No Resort Available". Can anyone confirm is this is normal behavior?

I would but after buying in august my guide has yet to answer back the last 2 times I emailed them. Guess once our purchase went through she stopped responding. Hope she didn't get let go. You'd think someone would take over their customers or email account.

Whatever this is indicating, I just like the wording still says Jan 2019 and not something really crazy like Oct 2020. Makes sense Disney breaks up AKV as two for using the 16 now, being they were sold on deed that way. Will be interested if anyone is signing a resale contract with that new wording yet.

I’m following another discussion about this on Facebook, and @pkrieger2287 mentioned that they have reached out to their sources to find out more. I bet we will know by the end of the day! I’m cautiously optimistic, but also worried there is a going to be more to the story that might not be great.
