Resale Resorts Riv eligibility

I just bought resale contract and it showed up in August and it definitely can not be used for RIV.

Honestly, until it is confirmed by Disney that resale contracts can be used there, I would not buy with that assumption.

It also contradicts itself and as mentioned, AKV is now being considered 2 resorts.

Now, could it mean that changes are coming? Maybe.

When you go to special offers tab in you profile to request add on points, has it always listed jambo and kidani as two separate options? I recently was given my points and made my first reservation, but i was poking around the request more info section and noticed that. Is that something new or is it always listed that way? just curious

No one thinks that they will sell off the rest of AKV Jambo House and convert it to all DVC do we? Could substitute for Reflections being canned...

I’m following another discussion about this on Facebook, and @pkrieger2287 mentioned that they have reached out to their sources to find out more. I bet we will know by the end of the day! I’m cautiously optimistic, but also worried there is a going to be more to the story that might not be great.
I'm following that one too. ;-)

I find it even more questionable as it’s still referencing Reflections, when for all intents and purposes that resort is shelved indefinitely.

They've always been that way, but you have had home resort privileges at both. I hope that doesn't change. Technically my home is Jambo.

Is anyone with a restricted contract willing to call member services and try to book a Riviera stay?

My recent Riviera direct purchase still references Reflections in the contract.

There were rumors about new direct perks coming out on 10/1. Could it be that several changes will be announced tomorrow?
Any rumors on what this could entail? As someone who just bought direct, it’s kind of a strange place to be for the Guides when some of the big benefits are not available (“when’s the next Moonlight Magic?” “How soon after I close can I buy a DVC AP?” etc...).

Does anyone else think that this is a change (if true) that was supposed to be announced after the minimum for blue cards changed to 125 points? If so, a major paperwork oopsie! :rotfl:

Wasnt there a recent permit filled for Reflections? It could be still on just delayed.
Pretty sure the permits were for the stables. All rumors point to Reflections being cancelled though the site will still be used for a future DVC, just not soon

What is still a mystery is RIV resale contracts specifically - are those still restricted to being used at RIV only?

Everything is possible, but it would be very strange. It would mean that everyone can trade in, but some owners cannot trade out. It would create a big unbalance and even worst availability issues than predicted earlier. I think if everyone can trade in then everyone will be able to trade out.

FWIW, I’m pretty sure my VGF resale waiver from mid-August (was sent to Disney on 8/20) included the RVA restrictions (it mentioned 14 existing resorts, not 16). I’m going to go try to find it now.

It looks more to me that it is likely some inexperienced person just made mistakes, e.g., whoever prepared the new waivers does not even know AKV is one DVC Resort, and thus there only 15 DVC Resorts, and probably just assumed otherwise because the reservation system is set up to allow members to reserve Jambo and Kidani separately.

Under the POS documents, there is only one AKV DVC. The only way it could legally be made into separate DVC's now is via a material change to the POS approved by an actual vote of all the members, i.e., DVD/DVC cannot do it without such a vote.

And since that is a mistake, the implication that Riviera is now resale friendly, when nothing formal has been issued by DVD/DVC to change the applicable language in all the POS-related documents for Rivera that say otherwise, is also likely not true.
