DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

OK today we have some WDW Pick'ems to kick off the 4th of July weekend
  1. Rum or Bourbon (ok this one is borderline WDW unless you are at a DDCC)?
  2. Food & Wine or Flower and Garden?
  3. Kringla Bakeri or Karamell-Kuche
  4. Fish & Chips in UK or Poutine?
  5. Early rise and Rope Drop or Close the Park?

1. BOURBON (not even close)
2. Flower and Garden
3. Karamell-Kuche
4. Both - at the same time (double chips)
5. Early Rise and RD!

Afternoon Gents. Trying to wrap up month end on a short work time frame - Swiss don;t recognize 4th of July, they're neutral about the entire thing.

  1. Bourbon
  2. Only been to F and G so I'll have to pick that one.
  3. Karamell-Kuche
  4. Fish & Chips
  5. Both, even on the same day. Of course there is an afternoon nap at the resort in there as well.

Morning boys.

I hate mornings, boys.
Pretty lousy night of not much sleep. Glad I’ve got a few days off after this.
Yeah, same here. Went to bed late and still got up at my normal time even though I have today off. Glad you will be getting some down time soon. (social distancing style of course) ;)

I'm hoping I can finish the deck this weekend, but not sure if I'll be able to on Saturday as Elle is having some friends over for a pool party. And if that's the case... I can live with that.

Happy Friday.

Did I see Florida has closed bars that sell booze? I'm wondering if the Governor or Disney will blink and close. Maybe they should implement what was used elsewhere in the country where massive numbers of people gathered outdoors but the virus didn't spread. :scared1:

The only logical inference I can pull from this statement, is that you've had a dream about all of us and you just haven't fessed up about it, as your issue wasn't that I'd had a dream, it was that I told people about it. C'mon. Spill the beans.
And yes, you are my dirty little secret. It was weird you weren't in it, as you and Doc are the only guys on here that I've met in the flesh. So to speak.

Sadly, no dreams about y'll or Disney or even Disney princesses. I really want to dream about Disney princesses.

I use to have fun with a British girl I dated several years ago. She'd say, "Can you toss this in the bin?" I'd then say, "You mean the trashcan?" 🤣

If you didn't have fun, then why date her? Otherwise, you'd just marry her and the fun would be over. :sad2:

You should have seen what I did to the Greek girl I dates in college. 😁 She was not only a ballet dancer, but a model as well. Mmmmm

Now that's worth dreaming about, minus the you part.

As I said

Ay rhymes with day, say, play, etc.
Eh rhymes with meh, peh, feh.

Lite - not exactly sure how you'd pronounce it mate.

Notre Dame. Ya got me there, but I can imagine there are a lot of English words butchered in France (or other countries for that matter)
In our defense, it would appear to be the SAME as same or lame or shame as opposed to dahm.

Now, coming from someone who calls a
hood a bonnet (ladies headgear)
Trunk a boot - foot wear
Yard a garden - where vegetables are grown
Cigarette a fag - careful...don't want the thread banned
Subway a tube - what goes inside a tire or similar to a pipe

I'm not so sure I should take spelling lessons from you anyway when you can't even pick the right words.
:lmao: :rotfl2:

So everyone knows...that was all in jest. I'm not at all upset and just having fun with Dan.

Hey! Hold on there cowboy. Back the horse up. We met, but I don't recall any activities that would garner the "flesh" label. ;)

A comedian did a bit on our words...

dome...comb....come...some...

It was funny at the time.

Flashlights don't really, er, flash.
A traffic circle sounds like a 2 year old did your urban planning.

A 2 year old woukd do better with most of our city planning.

Bourbon. Is there really another choice?
Food & Wine.
Karamel-Kuche - do you all snicker at the name too?
Fish n Chips
Close the Park - I don't like getting up early on vacation

1.Bourbon.
2.F&G as its pretty much F&W light now, and you get the bonus of the pretty pretty flowers.
3.Never done either, but I think Karamell-Kuche is Werthers Originals, which are heinous. So the Bakeri.
4.Poutine. Not a fan of Fish n French Fries.
5.Close it. I love the parks as they empty. They take on a totally different atmosphere.

Right. That's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one standing in the Fife and Drum to celebrate another year of back taxes in the biscuit tin with a good old Sammy Adams gets to take Tink home. And let me tell ya, her Pixie certainly is Hollow.

Have a great 4th July, and to my non-revolting Canadian brethren, have a great weekend.

Why are Werther's originals heinous? There are many other caramel things there and even a few that aren't caramel. I've mentioned it, the caramel apples are great, but then again that's something that's pretty hard to mess up.

Poutine. Not a fan of Fish n French Fries
Wow! Fish & Chips are a distinctly British thing...surprised. Same here. I eat some fish, but it's not my favorite and when I'm surrounded by so many other good options (poutine, brats, pretzel, etc.), not really a consideration.

To his non-revolting Canadian brethren, have a great weekend also!
The way I look at it, after WWII, we're all brothers...if we hadn't banded together, we would all be speaking German or Japanese. I know this is to celebrate independence from Britain, but also mighty happy we're not flying swastikas or red circles.

Don't like them at all, but then again not a real fan of caramel. Its probably why I have never darkened their door. But I am partial to a bit of banoffee pie. You can take me in there in January and school me in the ways of the sweeties.

Never really enjoyed it. I do love a fritto misto though, I'd swap Grandma for a huge plate of Calamari and Octopus in a harbour. Our local Fish and Chip shop does it, so if we go in there we will have that. But plain ol Cod n Chips is just a bit dull. The whole plate tastes the same.

you know I love you all really.....

Ditto!

I hope you didn't think I had taken offense or felt miffed. I was simply thinking about UK, Canada and the US and how, while we celebrate different holidays and different days, we would all be MUCH different if not for our brotherhood. Also, our brotherhood on the dis.

Nah, course not mate. Yeah, we are all basically cut from the same cloth.
WOW! Did Scotland Yard just show up on your doorstep?
Justin Trudeau showed up with a lovely bunch of flowers and a bucket of Maple Syrup, so that was nice.

Happy 4th to you wonderful southern gentlemen.
Just curious...will the "new normal" affect the way you celebrate this year?
Curious because Canada Day this year, with no fireworks, concerts, community stuff, for me just felt like another Wednesday...

1. Rum - I must confess I have to mix my liquor, and I know enough that bourbon deserves more respect than mixing it, so I don't drink it.
2. Flower & Garden - I am too much of a meat & potatoes guy to appreciate F&W
3. Karmell-Kuche
4. Fish & Chips - I was eating that years before I even heard of poutine
5. Early rise - although I've done both

Bob Newhart I listened to until I wore out the tapes
I don't listen to/watch much stand up comedy, but I could listen to Bob all day. Comic genius.
I knew I liked you Dan.
Well, until you went and dissed fish and chips.
Now I'm not sure.... :p
