Resort Change by Disney

I was told that the park hopper for my July reservation could not be removed if I wanted to receive the 35% off for free dining (booked in January). Was anyone else told this?

We had the Free Dining, which became the 35% off and Park Hoppers. I was able to switch resorts and get the $90 off for each ticket for the Park Hoppers. It brought my total package down $270.

If you're calling to move resorts that's not a good number anymore. I was told earlier today that they couldn't help me with resort reservations.

Calling for website issues with online checkin. Hopefully they can help with that. We are all set on our hotel.

You can modify reservations by canceling one and rebooking the day, assuming there is an available park to switch to. (You can see that in advance; easy if you have multiple browser tabs open for it.) I did it for our July dates which are looking like we may need to cancel due to Disney only offering FW Cabins as a move from POFQ.
We're also booked at POFQ. I haven't called to take care of things yet. Just reading and learning from everyone on here plus won't have hours to sit on hold until tonight or tomorrow :) If that is the only option for FQ we will switch our dates. I don't know what that will mean for the Sun and Fun discount or the free dining from our March cancellation. I've been too nervous to call expecting disappointment. Just gathering my strength and patience. Might call this evening and hope they're not too tired and grouchy! :)

My TA says she can’t get through!😩😩 I’m panicking that there will be no where left to move 😩😩😩
Mine just emailed me and said the same, she said she'll try later today again (although I don't have much hope for that). I'm hoping she really gets someone who understands why we would want an upgrade with price protection since we have a GDT ressie and FWC and CBR just aren't a comparable move in my opinion. I'm hoping they realize it's bump us up or lose the $$ we would spend otherwise.

Is your trip in December? I know you mentioned December park hours. We're booked at POFQ 12/1-12/5 and our TA told us today they would only let us move to CBR or CSR for our dates, since the move has to be within the same category we've booked. She also said they are discouraging late-2020 changes right now because there is a chance the resorts could reopen before our dates. Take that for whatever it might be worth.

Our current dates are late July into early Aug at POFQ. Which won't be open yet I think (oddly I've not rec'd any email asking me to change it yet). So we will have to change resorts and I think, for us, the best bet is just to push it back for a couple of reasons I won't get into :) I'm sure if I wanted to try a Deluxe I'd have to pay a bigger chunk...but we might be ok with that. Hopefully they'll do what they can since we've had resort res since last Sept and will miss out on the free dining offered to those originally going in March. We're ok waiting if that is an option. But I do want to get it handled today/tomorrow before the next group gets access to park reservations.

On my third attempt, being nice, understanding, and considerate even when they couldn't help, I was successful! I was willing to wait to see what would become available closer to July 19th or cancel if they still only offered FW. I was switched from POFQ (which I was really looking forward to) to the Contemporary Resort. Definitely an acceptable upgrade! It took about 14 hours to get it done over 3 days.

We had the free dining 35% off and park hoppers at Music and guest services brought up the hoppers. She took care of those first and then switched us to Pop.

Thank you....that's awesome! Which number did you call to get this handled? Sounds like exactly what we're hoping to do. I've never had any interest in staying in the FW area. Did you keep the same dates or change your dates in all of this?

new hold recording is encouraging people calling about 2021 to call back next week due to the long holds. DUH DISNEY
I can't figure out why they didn't space out the dates for people to make reservations/changes a bit more in the first place! Less than a week from anyone being able to make park reservations to new 2021 tickets being sold was clearly way too ambitious.

So we check in next Friday for 4th of July weekend...we are all set on hotel, but for the life of me I cannot get online check-in to work....goofy keeps telling me oops, something went wrong...lol ugh!! Also all the lines are busy to reserve hotel restaurants...so this should be interesting. We are traveling with a little one, so we always like to make dining reservations ahead of time.

Use the app to check-in. That worked for me.

Also interested in what number you used (and how long you were on hold). I was moved from CBR to FW but I’m looking to be moved to a deluxe or just somewhere smaller

I was just on hold for 2 hours but got our December trip changed from FQ to Caribbean Beach. I checked my phone and I called the 1926 number 54 times before I did not get a busy signal and was connected to the robot. I went through the robot questions and then was placed in line for a CM which was 2 hour wait. I am happy with the outcome. We went from a garden view at FQ to a preferred room at CB which the CM said would be price protected and from what I can tell we are $210 to the good. DH is happy about taking the skyliner to 2 parks but I will miss the boat to DS.

CM said only this available for my dates was cabins... which seems like a lie tbh! Someone I talked to previously said I could switch for CR for 700 more.... said no to that one. I think this is my final attempt- I'm pretty okay with CB as long as skyliner is open
Haven’t had any luck either. We are booked in Sep at POR. All I keep getting offered is CBR. It’s a special trip for us, and we aren’t looking for CBR. The matrix seems to have put a big kaibosh on the upgrades, but it definitely depends on whom you speak to. Some people are still getting upgrades. I’ve been unable to call back today but plan to try shortly. No harm in continuing to try. Disney should be making this right.

Absolutely! We were at FQ 9/7-13, got moved to CB and charged more for it (even standard was over $120 more) but thought I had no choice but to pay. Heard about the price protection here yesterday and was like "what the heck!" Got nowhere yesterday after 5 hrs on hold, so called again this morning to at least get the price protection, and got an upgrade!! I wasn't even asking about it but the CM said we absolutely shouldn't have been charged more and put us at Poly!
Ah that is what I am looking for. We are at POR 9/5-9/16 and only have been giving the choice of CBR. No matter what we say it doesn’t change. Going to keep trying.

Yes, I was told this as well. They also told us to check right before our trip to see if policy changed.

If anyone has had experience with Disney initiating a resort change, I would appreciate your thoughts. Yesterday it was mentioned that some of the resorts would not open. If my resort was not going to open, is it possible that Disney would just move me to another resort of their choosing, or do you think I would have some kind of choice?
we were boardwalk inn club level Labor Day weekend. They moved us to beach club club level.

Day 1 - removed Parkhopper. No move as no price match was being offered. 6+ hours
Day 2 - 8+ hours of listening to the 'upbeat' Disney-sound singers to no avail - CM and GS only offering FW. No other uption.
Day 3 - 5+ hours - Early on hold to disconnect, called the 6413 number; she couldn't help me, but did put me into the cue for a CM instead of making me call. Once to a CM, she quickly said she would get me to GS. She came on after 45 minutes to make sure the transfer went well. The GS girl already knew my entire situation and took care of it.

We did not change dates at all, thinking it best to keep everything the same. We would ideally like to add a night before, but they can't do that right now, though I will check before we get there; airlines keep moving stuff around.

There should be better options once more resorts open and as they get further into it. There really aren't any moderates available in early/mid July. I find it odd they are not offering more spots at DVC properties.
