Resort Change by Disney

So has it been determined they are not charging people to move still if they keep the same dates? I have WL booked on 7/27 and my TA has been trying for two days to get through to get us moved to an open resort. I just am trying to figure out what to have her ask for...

The CM I spoke to confirmed that as long as you aren't changing dates, you have "price protection."

The Epcot resorts don't open until later in the year. We were able to switch to BC because we kept our dates of Nov. 1-5

Interesting...I was at YC GV 8/14-8/16. Yesterday guest services told me he looked in the same resort area (Epcot resorts) and there was nothing available....I was moved to CR.

Here are the tentative dates:
July 10: Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House, Disney's Pop Century Resort, Disney's Contemporary Resort
July 29: Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
August 12: Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort
August 24: Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
September 21: Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
October 1: Disney's BoardWalk Resort
October 14: Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

POFQ originally. Only being offered re-booking for cabins Fort Wilderness or preferred rooms at Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach. Looking for something quieter and with good dining options. Any recommendations?? Ugh help...this is all so difficult!

POFQ is unfortunately the only mod that really offers that smaller/quieter feel so you might be stuck upgrading to Deluxe if it's that important to you. That said, you might want to consider holding off and waiting to see where things are closer to your trip. Since you are being offered CSR, I assume that you are going no sooner than mid-October. While there are no stated plans to open POFQ yet, that doesn't mean it won't open by November/December. Worst case scenario, POFQ will remain closed and you will still likely have the same options they are offering now.

Just got off the phone and got my All Star Sports (check-in on Aug 6) moved, they offered me the Pop at no extra charge. A deluxe would have been a nice upgrade but I like the Pop especially since it is on the Skyliner so its all good with me.

I am booked at POFQ and do not consider CBR an equivalent(I really dislike CBR), So I hope they can get me in a better room.

We've had a three hour call, two hour call, and another two hour call dropped today between me and my husband. I'm currently on hold for Guest Services. Spoke with the first Cast Member who had to transfer me. Time is at 1 hour 44 minutes right now. She pops in every 30 minutes to check on me. I'm trying to keep a good attitude, but I'm starting to get bad associations with these Disney songs lol.

Well after 2.5 hours I was told they can't see my reservation because it was with a travel agent, and if I do have to cancel (because I don't like where they end up moving us) yep I'm stuck with the airline fees. SIGH.

Don't compromise and tell them that you feel that it is NOT and equivalent resort, no matter what Disney thinks. I was nice but told them right off the bat when he mentioned CBR, that I will never stay there again. I ended up getting Boardwalk.

we have expressed all of this to our TA who is handling it. She was waiting on hold for 200+ minutes last night before it just randomly disconnected. She said she would try again today and we haven’t heard anything yet. I’m so anxious about all of this.

We would never book CBR. We have done the other moderates and we’re finally going to try POFQ when all this happened. Just me and hubs, a surprise trip HE PLANNED BEHIND MY BACK and did such a great job. It’s for my 40th. So much for having a trip planned for me lol! I’ve been stressing about all this ever since I found out on Mother’s Day!

The CM I spoke with said the same thing but the balance on MDE is not reflecting the "price protection" and no charge for resort change yet. Showing a higher balance based on resort change. Assuming this is something that takes some time to reflect in the balance in MDE? We did not change dates.

I was told it may take up to two weeks before you'll see the price reduction.
