April Trip Reports

I did run down to the Ford dealer today to get some antifreeze for the truck. I called to make sure the parts department was open to the public. I had to order over the phone, pay with a card and then drive to the side of the building where there was a taped up box with my name on it sitting outside the roll up doors.

Never saw a person the whole time. Social distancing to the extreme. I then went to Wal Mart for distilled water and it was a free for all.

I'm gonna roll the camper out of the garage tomorrow and prep it for next weekend. Got a reservation down at Gulf State Park but I will be watching the weather because if it's gonna rain all weekend then not much reason to go. Hey, though, hope springs eternal.

If I go then I'll have a trip to report on for ya, Stratman50th.

Bama Ed

PS - the beach is closed but the Gulf fishing pier is still open.

Ed,

Swing over towards Flora-bama. I heard FL is opening the beaches again this weekend.

I do want to thank them for being the Guinea pig/test group to see what happens when you toss social distancing out while your new infections (and deaths) continue to rise. I do know if I submitted this "trial" to our IRB (internal review board for research proposals) it would never clear HSC (Human Studies Committee).

If this actually goes well, I might get to go to WDW in June. If it doesn't, I fear the DIS Meet will be questionable. We'll see. These are definitely extraordinary times.

We did a rather extended trip today. Got something of a late start, but did manage to keep within our normal guideline of being where we intend to spend the night by 4 pm. Stop 1 was our local RITE AID Pharmacy to pick up a prescription for my bride. While there I was fortunate enough to get to sample some HAND SANITIZER. Then it was across the Parking lot to our ACME Supermarket. Navigating the 1 way aisles for the few items we needed was a simple task overall. During this little adventure I did find the Mother Load. Half a shelf of Scott's Toilet Paper (4 roll packs) Limit 1 to a customer. After locking my prize securely in the trunk I donned a disguise (changed my hat and sweatshirt) and went back in for a second pack for our neighbor who has 3 of their grandchildren staying with them.
From here it was 1 block journey to the vet to ensure the girls could get pedicures if needed. Then it was time to take the scenic back road trip towards home after a stop at the post office. Grueling day I day I know but someone had to do it

I was reading your comment out loud to Himself, and we had to laugh when I got to the part about your disguise lol. I'd try that but I never get away with anything lol

Social distancing guidelines remain in place. (Floridian here)

Duval County beaches - They will be open from 6 to 11 a.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. and gatherings of more than 10 people – not 50 as was previously announced – are prohibited. No sunbathing, towels, blankets, chairs, coolers, grills, etc. will be permitted on Duval County beaches during the restricted hours they are open.

To keep OT, my big trip out today will be to return a movie to the Redbox. Which was my big trip out yesterday, to rent the movie.

I left the house for the first time in 2 weeks today, I even showered, put on deodorant, brushed my hair, etc for the occasion. Went to Publix for essential food items, they did not have TP or PT, luckily I did not need those items.

To occupy time while stuck in the house, when not working, I'm re-watching the Marvel movies in chronological order.
