Sorry you weren’t targeted 😕

I haven’t seen any nonstop flights from MCO- LHR but both Virgin, AF/KLM, BA, Iberia and American do nonstop to LGW.

With the amount of URs you have and will likely earn more, I agree with your using them, although they can be pricey redemptions. I think my point was MRs can be very helpful for award flights which are discounted via the Amex transfer bonus (I flew from Dublin to Orlando for 37,500 MRs in business) and diversification is good. That’s all!
Do you think flying into LGW would be bad? I have no idea. I looked it up and it said 30 minutes by train. Obviously with a one year old that wouldn’t be ideal but it might be better than a layover somewhere.

I wish we had more Amex points. Dh will get 20k from his BBP that we’re working on now. I’m not sure if we can join points like you can with chase. Do you think it’s realistic to get enough Amex points by next summer to book? If so, we could switch gears to them

Some of you may recall that my dh travels a lot of business. He just texted me this morning that he was involved in a serious car accident on Saturday. A paralegal talking on his phone, driving in the far right lane (dh was in the far left lane going the same direction) decided to suddenly make a u-turn, cut across 3 lanes and dh drove into him (obviously couldn't avoid him). Dh said his car cut right through the unibody at the wheel well of the other vehicle (2019 Acura small sedan). Thankfully dh seems to be okay, but his car (he's in Toronto) doesn't look great. The road was closed for 4 hours because the paralegal who drove into him was unconscious and apparently there was blood all over his car. I wish dh had told me sooner and maybe by phone. He sent me a video of the scene with the firefighters and police cars everywhere. Thanks for listening -- it's weighing heavily on my mind because it could've been so much worse if dh wasn't driving such a safe, well-made vehicle. Trying to work but finding it hard to concentrate.
Oh my! I am so sorry to hear this happened, but I am glad your DH is ok!

So glad your husband is okay!

@Judique - I’m sorry your DD lost her earrings but honestly in a four person mva with critically injured patients I can only imagine the chaos and perhaps (trying to believe the best of humanity), they got lost in that chaos. I don’t know if you’ve seen a trauma bay after the patient is stabilized and moved on but they can look like a tornado hit. Just a thought...

That does make me feel better.

I transferred my URs to BA during a promotion (I think 30% bonus Avios or something along those lines) to complete the return leg of our Maldives trip. Since the redemption was based on the dollar value of the flights and I booked almost a year in advance, I think the redemption was a good value. One thing to keep in mind is that BA charges to book your seats in advance with mileage bookings -- at least in business class (I paid to secure our seats).

Carnival is already sold out! Oh well, guess I'll just have to be happy with 10% off with Allstate Rewards. RCCL still available, but their GC seem trickier. This one says can't be used with TAs or third parties.

I think you have to buy the “new” eGCs from Raise directly to earn the Raise Cash back, not the ones listed on the Raise resale marketplace. Pretty sure you can just select a denomination to buy.

Just checked Cardmatch for DH and Capitol One Venture came up as Pre-Qualified. Does this really mean anything? And if it does would it mean a greater chance of approval through the link there or same chance of success of approval through a support link?
My husband got the 60,000 offer in the mail but I’m hesitant to have him apply based on my experience. I applied and was denied for too many inquiries. I only have one hard pull on my accounts according to credit karma and I’m 3/24. My credit score is in the 800’s with 1% utilization. Never missed a payment etc. I have never been denied for a credit card so I was shocked when it happened to me. I have read that sometimes Capital One will deny those with excellent credit scores and excellent credit history. It seems weird that my husband would be targeted as he is 4/24 (soon to be 2/24) though. The only other thing different between us that I can think of is that I am a stay at home mom so even though I wrote his income as the household income the application does ask what your job is. Not sure if this was a factor but wanted to include it just in case.

I would have to second what @Judique said. The trauma team would remove all piercings so they don’t get in the way of any diagnostic imaging. At that time, the team was way more concerned with caring for your daughter than keeping track of where her earrings were put. Clothes are cut off, IVs started, cardiac monitors placed, vital signs monitored, labs done, X-rays, MRIs done and surgical teams called. By the time the patient leaves for surgery the room truly does look like a tornado went through. Sad to have lost the earrings but I also would prefer to give the team the benefit of the doubt.

So first time using ebates for Khols today (6% back). How will I know it worked? Topcashback showed right away.

Also just FYI for those shopping- Khols is holding some deals back for Thursday. One of the things we want isn’t on sale yet.
are you in the rakuten family yet? 6% with amex points is better imo unless you are looking for straight cash. I did the 10% on a few things i was eyeing for last friday also love it.

ive read that if you have above 760 and haven't carried a balance in the last year you are denied.

As @SouthFayetteFan already answered, cross supports between P1 and P2 is ok. As for generating the support link, you don’t need to have Amex send it to DH’s email. You can generate just the link, copy and paste it in an email, text, social media etc. Just delete the message before the url to get the actual supportal link. I’d also recommend opening the support link in an incognito window because sometimes that’ll pull up a higher incognito offer for the applicant and you’d still get the supportal bonus. (Always be aware of the different permutations of Amex SUBs so you know you’re signing up for the best one, especially since Amex SUBs are generally once per lifetime.)
I read this too late for this application, but saving for the future!

Honestly I regretted opening the business gold. It just wasn’t a useful card to me. I chose the gas credits and between the Freedom categories, gas points at the grocery store and Amex offers I just never utilized it. I think the fee is way too high for what it offers. I found more value in getting the biz plat 100k call in offer
While I am not totally writing of a Gold card right now, but we have a personal Gold that fits our needs in these categories. I would really only be getting it for the bonus/referral points.

Didn’t you just say your looking at london at some point. We don’t have international travel on our radar but MRs can be of extreme value for that. I’d start hoarding now
Any tips on MRs for London? It's on our short list and hotels for 4 are SO EXPENSIVE!
