I appreciate everyone's comments on my stuff... I buy most patterns off Etsy though. The only one's I've created are the wedding paper goods (and those were such a PITA anyone that bought the file would hate me), the save the dinos shirt, and the Happily Ever After shirt (not exactly hard). Otherwise could be a fun side hustle!

I think the paper flowers could be fun to make to sell.. definitely would need a maker though lol. But no time  I buy a lot of patterns off Etsy for shirts. I could have probably done the cruise ones but was short on time and it was only a few dollars to get all of those.
Sooo the money you get from selling stuff from the Maker... could PAY for the Maker ::yes::

The math works LOL :teacher:

I know this is going to sound ridiculous but here goes...what does it mean to show a horse?

My husband and I show quarter horses, which is a specific breed of horse that's known for its versatility in competing in different events. So I show in a class called Hunter Under Saddle. I wear the outfits with the knee high boots and tan pants and the little black helmets. My husband shows in the Western Pleasure. He's a cowboy, complete with a cowboy hat, chaps, and spurs haha. We show in classes that are judged on how well our horses move and perform.

Here's a video that shows the horse show we're heading to tomorrow. Minute 1:16 shows what my husband shows in, 1:20 shows what I show in.

Ok, I've never eaten at Plaza, jungle skipper or LLT! Be Our Guest is not a fave of mine, although we always eat there for DD. Pecos Bills is questionable, lol.
I find I don't eat much dinner in MK. Mostly lunch. BoG and Plaza are reliable for lunch. LTT is nice for both lunch and dinner, but sometimes I like just ordering an individual entree which you can't do at dinner.

I am trying the new BoG dinner menu this year before MVMCP. I figure it is time. LOL

I'm SURE this has been covered before, but can we talk card cancellations?

I'm relatively new to the credit card game, and am trying to figure out the best strategy on dealing with credit cards long term ("long term" meaning "once the next AF hits"). When/how do you usually cancel the cards that you don't want to keep?

I got two SW personal cards and one SW biz card 2 years ago. After the AF for each of them hit my statement, I called to cancel them, and got the AF refunded. Is that generally the way to go? All of my cards are Chase cards, so I don't want to risk angering them by closing too many
.

Nice benefit! I read it to mean they will reimburse WiFi (or erase the charge or whatever) 365 times. Which means that even if I'm not flying w. DH (who has the card) I should be able to get free Wifi, as long as I pay for it on his SW card :)

I think this discussion was on Reddit the other day. And someone had a screen shot of the benefits and it said 365 days - 1 per day. Even if you had AU's with the card - It was still 1 per day. That is the conclusion they came to.

I guess I don't really do many TS meals at MK. I tried the new BOG dinner menu this past December. I really don't remember it, so not bad but it didn't stand out.

Yeah didn’t say had to be cardholder. DH is A list so he gets it free already. But I plan to use it on both of our phones this next trip. If I don’t get reimbursed for the extra I’ll try sw to get it off since he’s A list.

Ok I know we need rain but it’s been down pouring since 730 am. It really could stop now. I need to go drain the pool but I don’t want to go out in the downpour.

Does anyone here use a Cricut?

I am really interested in getting one to start making my own shirts and decals. It could even become a new side biz! I am trying to compare the Explore Air 2 vs the Maker. Anything I should know? Is the price difference worth it?

I do have that new JetBlue MSR to meet and Black Friday just happens to fall within the MSR period 🤣
I have an Air, not even an Air 2. It works just fine, but I do only do vinyl and paper. The Maker can cut a lot more like basswood and cloth, it has a rotary blade so can do a little more. I'm just not that crafty, I prefer the term "crafty wannabe". If I ever upgrade (due to something happening to my machine) I'd go for the Maker just because it's newer and the difference between my Air and the Air2 is only the speed at which it cuts.

If you're going to do a lot, I'd recommend a heatpress over the Cricut Easypress. I've never used the Easypress since I have a heatpress, but the HP is so much faster/easier. I have a fellow softball mom coming over to use my heatpress instead of her Easypress.

TSM is probably my all time favorite ride (eclusing roller coasters) in all of WDW. I could just sit on it all day and beat my score. I even have the Wii game LOL

I agree LTT, BoG, and the Plaza are good. I still have to try Skipper Canteen!

HAHAHA I am so glad I pegged you as a Tony's lover. It just makes sense. Who WOULDN'T be one?!

I love TSM!

We always eat at Skipper Canteen in MK - we like having a sit-down lunch when the parks are crazy, and we like the food. In fact, we like it so much, we've never really eaten anywhere else at MK! Other than BOG, which was fine, but kind of cafeteria-like.

Nope absolutely not to midway mania. One, it hurts my arms. Two, I’m way too competitive and always end up losing to Dh which makes me mad lol.

We like pecos bills and Casey’s at MK

I always lose to SO too.

There was a lounge at Test Track (or World of Motion) sponsored by Ford or whoever was the sponsor for employees of that company. I’m pretty sure that closed. There might have been a Kodak one at Imagination too but don’t quote me in that.

I had a meeting for work in the conference space in Test Track about 5 years ago. They had a group of security escort us from the front gate to the meeting, and then back out again afterwards, I guess to make sure that no one went AWOL into the park!

Here's a potato-quality picture from the room (this was on an LG flip phone!):

The invitations were pocketfolds I made with it, plus the Save the Dates and the one on the left was a gift card holder - we gave everyone who came a Disney GC as a favor.

All of your shirts and projects are awesome! I've really wanted a Cricut for years and years but can't justify the price. I could probably figure out how to justify it, though
Finally popping by to say a huge THANK YOU to all the travel hacking gurus on the board for sharing all your expertise here— And a special shout out to @SouthFayetteFan for the PMs of encouragement and guidance he sent. I applied for my very first biz card - the SW- on 10/11, got the two week message and was finally! approved on 10/14. I wasn’t very hopeful since I only have a very small “biz” and I was truthful about tiny revenue and how long I’ve had the business. I think my personal income and high credit score won the day, but I was still surprised and elated when I heard the magic approval message. Now I just have to be careful to finish up the spend in January, apply for the next SW card in three months and we’ll have a CP! Woohoo! DH and I are retiring (Feds) at the end of 2019 so I think we’ll be able to use the heck out of the CP in 2020 and 2021.
Yay for you and congrats on the joint retirements!
Here's a first world problem from the hypocrite who told @wendow it's nobody's business how you spend your own money... 😉

How do you not feel pretentious travelling well/often?

My family does not do as well financially as DH and I to begin with (life choices in most cases), so even an annual Disney trip seems excessive to them. I am looking at 9 days Hawaii, 2+ weeks WA State/Alaska and a week at Disney next year. Those are 3 bucket list trips for most people. I'm maximizing discounts and points to make it happen, but I'm still embarrassed to tell friends (let alone family!) we are looking at WA/AK next summer. It feels pretentious to talk about it, and I never want to be "that person".
So this is really hard for me. We're going to Rome next month, India in December, and Australia next September. That's 3 overseas trips in 11 months! I don't want to be "that person" either.

I try to explain that we're doing some of the trips because of points----Rome courtesy of AA flight vouchers from a lucrative voluntary bump and Australia from 2 years of points chasing---and that we're only going to India because we're traveling with friends from that area. Plus, dh has worked so very hard over the past few years after inheriting his father's clients that we can afford to pay cash for things.

It's just difficult though. I don't think dh's siblings remember just how poor we were for many, many years.
What about accuracy?! Can always compete with that too LOL 🤣
My youngest competes for accuracy on TSM! Last trip she scored 95% and 99% :thumbsup2

So technically you could shoot once accurately and win lol
