Hello to my favorite corner of the internet! I've decided to give this whole PTR thing another go, since my first one last year worked out so well. Before I get too deep into what we have planned for 2020, allow me to introduce the cast of characters!
We are Jon & Ann, two Disney-loving fools from the Midwest who manage to spend the majority of our vacation time doing something Disney related.
Jon (on the left) is a super creative, mega musical, butt-busting manager who enjoys Disney and graciously agrees to let me to spend our money on Disney trips. Jon's dream Disney job would be something sound related, probably running sound for some of the big shows. I (Ann) am the Disney fanatic of the family. No matter what I'm doing I can pretty much guarantee that I would rather be curled up on my couch with my kitty, a cup of tea, and my current Disney spreadsheets open on my laptop (unless I'm actually at a Disney park, of course). My dream Disney job is a parade performer. It's the perfect opportunity to interact with guests and help them have a great time, all without needing to hug anyone (I don't like hugs)! Plus you get to dance around the whole time. It's perfect. They wouldn't even have to pay me (okay maybe a little).
Fun fact about me- the only thing that kept me going through engineering school was the promise of a job that would pay well enough to feed my Disney addiction. And it has. Oh it has. We visited WDW together for the first time the Christmas after I graduated and the obsession was born.
So what do we have coming up in 2020? Oh nothing really, just two WDW trips, 5 nights with DCL, and an ABD. So yeah NBD.
Let's start in chronological order, then! Coming up first is our 5 night cruise on the Disney Magic in February with stops at Grand Cayman & Castaway Cay. It's also a Marvel Day at Sea cruise and if you read my previous PTR then you know I'm already diligently planning our outfits.
Next we'll go for our annual DVC stay! We decided to go in May this year to take advantage of the nice warm weather and Flower & Garden festival. Right now we have 4 nights booked at our home resort, Copper Creek, and 4 nights at Boardwalk. We're hoping to get into Beach Club instead of BWV but more on that later.
As for our ABD, it's still up in the air about which one we are going to do. Originally we wanted to do China, since we would like to visit all of the international Disney parks over the next few years (I promise my Disneyland Paris TR will get started soon!). BUT another podcast we listen to has strongly hinted that they are taking a group on an Italy ABD next year. If that goes through and the dates work for us then we want to take advantage of it, since special groups like that tend to get to do special things on those trips. But, naturally, they are taking forever to announce anything and so we're kind of in limbo with what's going on there.
Finally, I'll be going down to celebrate my birthday over Halloween weekend. Last year I got to visit WDW on my birthday and have decided that every other year I'm going to go down for a birthday celebration because you can't beat a Disney birthday. You just can't. The fun thing is that Halloween is on a Saturday next year so if I do a long weekend I'll be able to hit up the Halloween MNSSHP and THEN hopefully see the beginnings of the Christmas decorations over the next couple of days!
So join me as we follow this yellow brick road of Disney magic through the year 2020!
