I love the cold. We should get a cool front on Tuesday, of course I'm getting ready to leave for an outside Girl Scout Camp leadership training for this weekend. It's going to be hot and humid. :scared:

In churning news. I still have not heard anything back on P2 CitiBiz after sending in the address verification, and I don't have the number to call and find out what the deal is. How long do I need to wait before I can apply again for him, and maybe have that round go better?

Putting the final touches on the work schedule. Still getting signs that that one coworker is not happy with me over it. Whatevs 🤷‍♀️

I made a few edits, AFTER TALKING TO PEOPLE ABOUT THEIR PREFERENCES, to make it more sensible. The next step is to send it out with the spots where coverage is needed marked, so the 4 people who can help can volunteer for spots. Soooo now that it's pretty official for the main employees I'm going to see if there's any hours I want to give up for coverage :p

DoC has a list of phone #s.

I would call the Citi recon line and say you had to submit identity documentation. They put me through to some dept. The first time my one document was not sufficient. I sent in again, followed up with a call and was approved.

In other point collecting musings, my two Marriott nights this past weekend netted me 4747 Bonvoy points. This included 6x on my Brilliant and 10x at Courtyard, plus 5x at Residence Inn. I wanted to try the Residence Inn, liked it, but will probably only stay there on a certificate again, based on the fact that it's actually mostly more expensive then a couple of the other options and you only get the 5x points on cash deals. In reality, my Brilliant $300 credit took care of the cost, leaving enough for dinner (if I choose) when I stay at the Fenway in November in Clearwater. They have a steakhouse that I may try, not sure yet.

On to Hyatt - 1340 points which included my base points and my extra 10% for discoverist. I used an Amex offer of $75 back for spending $250, and the charge hasn't reconciled yet, so haven't been credited my $75. The offer expired on 10/3, but if they don't give it up, we will call. edit: the charge just posted correctly for 10/3, so should be good to go.
Now the strange part: Looked at my account and I have 3000 bonus points from 9/15. Account doesn't tell me where they come from and I'm not about to ask. Last stay was in July and that was on points. This stay hadn't happened yet. So where did those 3k come from?? I also have the Hyatt card but my spending has been minimal, maybe $50 more or less a month lately. (It's going to get higher as I have a 10K promo to do.) But - I hadn't done any big spending or staying to stimulate the 3K points that I know off. Only 3 stays total here - 9/18, 7/19, 10/19. This months spend on my credit card will get me to another night for next summer because of it...I'm only $14 away. Then the 10K promo will put me close to a 5th night, but I'll probably just do 4 points nights in July 2020. This hotel takes 15K for a free night on points.

Okay, oldest daughter is off on a day retreat somewhere in Pennsylvania at her department head's (dean of the program) house. She texts me, 'can we buy a cabin together?' It's a cosy looking log cabin and does look absolutely lovely.

However I'm more beach house than woods, so not going to happen. In reality I like hotels or resorts better than single units when I travel alone as it feels more inclusive.

And younger daughter was also invited but went to work instead. Her bank account keeps growing. Daughter should have asked her to buy a vacation property with her. My two daughters work in the same department in different capacities for years now -11 for youngest, and maybe 15 for oldest. At one gathering I was asked by the department head if I had any more children they could hire.

Funny OT post. One of my DD's flew to D.C. yesterday. She texted me yesterday and said "Mom, I just realized this is my first time ever flying anywhere other than Florida!. Also first time flying without you taking care of everything." She is an adult and perfectly capable - just never did it before. She is there for the weekend with her BF for his birthday and they are going to a football game. Also her first time ever going to live game.

Sometimes I do miss having little kids but it is fun to see them become competent adults.

It’s not even 1 and I feel like this is the longest day ever.. Had to drop dd off to take the SAT at 7:30. Then run to Walmart, the bank, and Publix. Then drop the dog at the vet. Back to pick the dog up. Drop my son at a football team event. Ran to Costco. Picked my son up and dropped him at the library for French tutoring. Still have to pick both kids up then 3.75 hours of volunteering for dd’s swim team. The days are long but the years are short!

You probably already know this, but booking through expedia would also mean you don't get Bonvoy points on the stay.
Actually I have no clue about how any of this works. Last time I booked a hotel was 2 years ago and last time I flew was almost 5. My head is spinning with all these posts about manipulating stays to maximize points. I don’t even have a Marriott rewards account yet (I don’t think... I need to check)

80, 000 UR spotted and already transferred to DHs CSR!
Statement closed for SW Biz, so 60,000 miles and CP should be mine soon (? Tomorrow)
I find myself suddenly MSR-less as new tires from Costco put me over for Citi Premier MSR.
Will have to contemplate next card. I think DH needs an Amex. I might stick to category spend for a month or 2.
Any ideas on what to use CSR travel credit for? DHs will reset in 2 weeks, then I’ll want to downgrade. Trips to NOLA and Anaheim/LA next year (Disneyland and USH tix already covered)

Just a little churning discussion post-

Have you ever gotten a card you regretted? Or have you decided to skip getting a card and then regretted it later? What card was it and why the regret?

My husband hates talking credit cards with me, I’ll bother y’all instead :)

I regret not getting a Rose Gold Amex---next time (fingers crossed) that it's offered, that's when I'm applying!

Or you can apply for the Amex Gold if you can get a good SUB (50k MR/$2k MSR) + support bonus (10k MR from your DH’s Gold, 15k MR from the Plats), and whenever that card fits into your strategy.

Then when Amex offers the Rose Gold version again, request a replacement to that color via chat. Several DPs of folks successfully requesting the Rose Gold from their Gold the last time Amex offered that “limited edition” color.

Talk to me about the Blue Cash Preferred... looking for a family member who likes the 6% back on groceries idea. They could refer their P2 from their Biz Plat for 15k MRs to an offer for $300 back on $1k spend, AF not waived. I'm bummed as the referral bonus on the Biz Plat was 20k MRs not too long ago but $300 on $1k spend looks like a decent offer on that card?

Just one more moment to complain about the work schedule... I like that this coworker made sure that she was not scheduled to come in earlier than her normal shift after her day off (which honestly I think is correct unless okayed by the person... defeats the point of having a day off if I don't get the full 24hrs in my book) but she did not take that same consideration when she was scheduling others 🙄

@LuckyMamaInDE I plan to request a Rose Gold when it happens again :D

Well after I got my Barclay HI Air I regretted it but then I converted my miles to HHonors points and booked our NZ Hilton stay with them so now I don’t regret it, if that makes sense?

I miss those days sometimes. My kids are all adults - two are in college and one of my DD's is a French teacher.

I regret that it took me this long to start churning. Mainly with SW because I had the same SW card for YEARS. I could have cancelled and got new ones and earned CPs twice over. The rest of churning I don't think I was ready earlier. But, glad I started this year - better late than never.
