....and DS got approved for CIP!!! :cool1: unlike my other ds, he's super excited to get the card and start on his MSR....he wants to be able to travel with his friends! My other DS feels that cc's are from the devil and only has his one card b/c I made him get it when he started out on his own... how can two kids be so different???

Congrats to your DS party:

Has anyone taken advantage of this?
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/shell-app-link-chase-pay-save-30¢-per-gallon/You can get a one-time savings of 30¢/gallon, up to 20 gallons, by linking Chase Pay with the Shell app. Chase Pay transactions earn 5x UR on the Chase Freedom this quarter. As a Shell Fuel Rewards Gold member, you regularly save 5¢/gallon and can earn rewards for further discounts.

I’ve been taking advantage of the [targeted] Amex Offer for 10% back at Exxon/Mobil (up to $100 back) that runs until the end of the year and stacking it with earning rewards through the Speedpass+ app with my Amex BGR (3x MR gas + 10% back Amex Offer) linked as the payment method.

There’s also a new Amex Offer out this morning for spending $25+ in a single transaction at BP/Amoco using the BPme app by 12/31/19, and you’ll get 1,000 MR (I’m assuming there’s a $10 statement credit version too). I added it to my BGR for the 3x MR on gas.
I have this offer..... now to get the app set up! thanks for the tip......by BGR you mean biz green rewards? that's what I have also

Near Disney, I've stayed at the two mentioned, Gaylord and Orlando World Center. But it's been over 10 years since I've stayed so they were very nice then, but I can't really add anything up to date about them. These days I'd probably choose the ones in Marriott Village (mostly 25K) for close to Disney and convenience, or the one in Celebration - from memory I think it's the Bohemian, to give it a try. Also, some of the timeshares are 35K - @palhockeymomof2 stayed at one recently that caught my eye.

World Center is nice but really big and usually crowded with conventions. The Marriott Village is nice as well and very convenient to Disney. For the timeshares, I’ve stayed at Harbour Lakes a couple of times and really liked it. It’s a bit further from Disney, actually closer to Sea World, but it’s a nice place and a Cat 5.

If you haven't checked out this thread lately you really should:

Wow - this is not a drill people: Jan-Mar Disney discounts are OUT!! Pretty strange to see a Friday release! It seems they did not do the additional 10% for Visa this year though, I'm slightly bummed about that. I'm getting 25% off at Yacht...but I REALLY wanted 35%!!! Haha!! Beggars can't be choosers I guess! Now you all can see one of the few things that will get me out of bed before 9am!

I just saved $626 off our package cost AND I'm getting a $120 Disney Gift Card when we check-in! I'll take it!
That’s great!

I’m still waiting for April 2020 discounts. Any thoughts on when they’ll be released?

I've got 3 kids - one is all in for any rewards and then some. One is semi tolerant to a point - let me do an AU on her years ago and proudly carried the card as a teen. Then got her own card. And got a Disney card when you got $200 gift card and the referral netted me $100. I met the spend and we split 50/50. She's 1/24 with the Disney card. And son, has a card - that's it, but happily came along and used one of my free nights. Oldest daughter used him to set up an spg account to stash some points and he got the 125k offer - did not apply. All have the income and credit score to get approved for anything right now.

Congrats to your DS!!!

So I ask this question in the sincere hope that I will not actually need to exercise this option...

We found out yesterday that DH is going to need a new-to-us car soon due to some issues with his. We will buy used. I am hoping I will not need to get a car loan, but in the event that I do, will getting new CCs make any difference in my ability to get one (other than a couple point hit to credit score)? I've never had to get a car loan before so I wasn't sure what they look for. Obviously, credit scores are excellent.

This deal today apparently goes through April 25th. I just realized that!
I can’t remember, do you get the discount on the whim trip as long as at least the first day of your res is included?

Thinking about taking the twins down for their birthday weekend. That AP is still calling my name

@mamathompson - My mother ans DD preferred their comfort + seats on delta to biz on AA so if you have MRs or skypesos something to think about...of course I’m a delta fangirl and apparently all the women I travel with are, too.
I’m flying Delta comfort from JFK in April.

I'm not sure if/when I've ever flown Delta but comfort + is definitely something I was thinking about. Nice to hear a good review. Thanks!

No. I got a car loan last week. I've opened 8 cards since January and I'm technically self-employed. No issues.

Thanks! That's what I figured but I didn't know if somebody was going to be like "why did you get three credit cards last month?" Really hoping I can get a good enough deal to avoid a loan, even though I will be brooooke until tax refunds/DH's bonuses hit next year.

No--credit score is basically all they care about. Especially if you have a big down payment.
