Yes, that is how I feel too. Hopefully you are good with later August dates since they're not released yet! I also checked the UR portal and it won't let me search past 8/11 right now. Not sure if it is always a little behind like that.So most of the cash prices for Aug 16 were crazy high when I looked at ewr to lax, other than maybe 2 flights. I thought something weird was happening. Almost like they're not fully released. I'm not sure, I definitely don't know anything about this.
I'm going to keep watching the next few days and hope I can book an acceptable flight out on a saver rate for Aug 20. Then our return isn't until Aug 30. So I'll have even more time to watch trends before then. I know I'm really late on this. I lucked into even thinking about it before it was too late. I'm so used to Southwest and other than that I've only booked through the Chase portal. So at least I'm lucky that I have plenty of UR that I can transfer to United to make it happen.
Thank you! It would be so sad to have points stuck somewhere unnecessarily! I will be booking for 2 other adults in addition to myself. I will have to act fast for the best deals. I will probably book myself last since I have the most URs to play with.Make sure that the availability for all the passengers is actually there before having them transfer UR points to UA. You can't transfer back. Let's say you have 4 passengers, you may find that there is only saver availability for 2 seats and then you will need to book with URs via the UR portal for the other adults.
A bit different on the itineraries and length.
I love fried pickles! They are one of the reasons I enjoy Sci-Fi in DHS. HAHA I also like the chips better than the spears, but I will most likely eat bothHave you ever tried fried pickles?? We always get those at Texas Roadhouse and I have to limit myself or I can clean the whole plate fast! I love pickles though!!
No fried pickles for me lol. I've given them a few chancesHave you ever tried fried pickles?? We always get those at Texas Roadhouse and I have to limit myself or I can clean the whole plate fast! I love pickles though!!
Like you I rarely miss/missed anything. Even if i could only be there for half the game I went. A few years ago I was standing beside the ice rink in Houston in the morning (freezing, DD1 did figure skating) and by afternoon i was sweating beside the soccer field in Austin with DS1. I truly miss those days. Now it's just softball with DD2 since DS2 has no interest in sports or anything other than computers. It helps with my kid’s spread out ages! My oldest is in college and no longer performing. She was my theater kiddo. Dd17 is a dancer and singer but parents can’t really sit in the studio and watch classes so I really only see dress rehearsals and performances. My boys are young enough that I do stay at practices and unless games are overlapping, go to all their games. My ds11 golfs now though too and that’s hard to go and watch so I don’t get to see much there.
My mom never came to a single track meet of mine (I ran for 5 years) and she only came to one theater performance of the many I did. I even competed at state and she didn’t go. So, it’s important to me to be at everything I can to show support to my kids
Yum on walking tacos, I make a healthier version at home. Totally never heard of them until 10or 15 years ago so they’re not a long time Midwest thing. Some other things I didn’t eat until I went to Iowa are: pork burgers (delicious!), walking tacos, and scotcheroos.
I think our scotcheroos here in WI are a peanut butter/Rice Krispies/corn syrup with melted chocolate on top, and pickle roll ups are big here too. Always one of the first things gone at a party. Both so good!Yum on walking tacos, I make a healthier version at home. Totally never heard of them until 10or 15 years ago so they’re not a long time Midwest thing.
Are scotcheroos oatmeal cookes with butterscotch chips? We call them oatmeal scotchies
This will be me too! My kids better like me in my old age cause I'll be around My mom lived close to us for 12 years and didn't go to her grandkids performances or games either. Now she lives back in TX. She did go to stuff when she was visiting last week but that is cause she had no choice. Either tag along or be left at home alone lol....My dh's parents live in TX and have only visited a handful of times in the 20 years we've lived in CO. And they've really only come out at Christmas, when there is nothing like that going on so they've never seen anything. It's sad for my kids to have friends whose grandparents travel from out-of-state for their big performances and yet neither of their grandparents really care. It is what it is though. I will not be that type of grandparent!!Like you I rarely miss/missed anything. Even if i could only be there for half the game I went. I've already warned my kids that I will be that grandparent that shows up. Unfortunately, they've missed out on that for themselves.
How do you make your walking tacos? I'm all about making healthier versions of yummy foods!Yum on walking tacos, I make a healthier version at home. Totally never heard of them until 10or 15 years ago so they’re not a long time Midwest thing.

No worries... I fixed it!Guys...can we just talk for a minute about this TERRIBLE Facebook Ad I just saw...
I mean c'mon... this picture just makes me want to punch somebody in the face. The only thing that would make it better is if he was jumping into a pile of money! (They money everybody is giving him for using his links...)

Looking at this again, I think the cheapest price would be 35,000 points and the regular price would be 60,000 points for New York to LAX. The actual flight price would only come into play if booking directly with URs through the Chase portal. It seems like this is an example of when it is most likely better to transfer to United even if you have a CSR for the 1.5x because some of those flights are priced outrageously with cash!So most of the cash prices for Aug 16 were crazy high when I looked at ewr to lax, other than maybe 2 flights.
