Definitely not a fan of the soldered Hard Drives(or soldered RAM for that matter). While I am mac certified, I'm just the backup guy so thankfully haven't had to repair any yet. I am also Dell certified and they make their laptops extremely easy to fix, especially recently.
I like Apple in some respects
Hate windows, so mac is preferable
Reliability - it's hard to crash a mac and even if you do, usually recovers without too much energy
Ease of use --- it's like the best of both worlds....power of Unix (FreeBSD under the hood), simplicity of windows
I don't like them for others
The Apple way of doing things....often not at all consistent with other Unix like OSs.
Too restrictive and controlling. Why I moved away from iphone...I don't want to hook my phone up to itunes to transfer data.
Automatic updates that (by design) slow older hardware down
Single source and no options which creates a WE don't care support structure
So, kinda like Disney, some things I like, some not so much.

Never really been a fan of how Apple does things. Their pricing is completely out of whack and the we don't want anyone to be able to upgrade or fix our stuff rubs me the wrong way.
That being said I do own and iPod and have for quite awhile. They make the best "dedicated" music player out there. I prefer to keep my music and my phone separate. I'm also looking at replacing my Galaxy Tab S2 and debated switching to an Ipad, but I have way too much on the android side and will probably go to the Tab S5e. I also love the widgets and Apple's "widgets" just aren't the same.
That's about where I am as well. I live on my Mac, but Apple annoys the heck out of me. I spent the time while the Mac was in the shop on a Chromebook, and while they're nice machines for what they are, some of what I do doesn't work so well there.

Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or bourbon. You mail enough to me and I send to the rest of the guys. Trust me, it's a fool proof plan and has worked 100% of the time.
The only drive I know about is to drive a motor vehicle. So, you're talking Greek or Canaduian to me.
I know iPhone costs way too much so I'll but low end Samsung Android phones every two years or so.
Welcome! Lived almost 30 years in Chautauqua County and am the resident Bills sufferer.
I was going to say something about it being a hard drive where your programs/data are stored on your computer. Not the same as a floppy disk (which according to your wife you're familiar with), but I decided not to.Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or bourbon. Considering I make my living from them, I'm sure glad they weren't a passing fad.I think you still owe me some of those dues, but you can send some BBQ mutton if it is easier. I'm with you on the computer stuff. I was in college before I ever turned one on and hoped they were a passing fad.

Well now you're not alone!! I grew up in Amherst, NY before I moved to Endicott, NY to work at SUNY Binghamton. My poor children are being taught how to be Bills and Sabres fans. By the time they know better it will be too late! And who knows? maybe both teams will be good by then.
OK, I'm calling it. Work Week Over! Last one standing at Rose and Crown has to help Basil of Baker Street find Dan in the London Underground!
Could be worse. It'll be me. Just starting my shift and will be off in 16 hours. Anyone still gonna be there?OK, I'm calling it. Work Week Over! Last one standing at Rose and Crown has to help Basil of Baker Street find Dan in the London Underground!

Sounds fun. Have a great vacation.
I've sent you 100% of the dues I've received. Moonlite does ship the mutton if you want me to send you some. Will they be able to find your holler?
Of course I do, those dishes and clothes aren't going to wash themselves...Do you have a work week still? I mean, of course Batman still has a work week. But, how about you?
