Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Has anyone been able to tell what the actual difference is between the standard view and water view? I've watched videos of both, and they look the same! :)

My worry is that this resort, that they are going to start pushing Deluxe pricing now. I've never stayed here, but the location, I feel I wouldn't pay a deluxe price tag for that. So I hope they don't go too crazy.
The only thing is: looking at these prices, compared to how far they jacked the prices up at Pop, Caribbean, and both Port Orleans resorts, I would say this isn't too far off, considering the extra OMPF this hotel gives (at least in April, that's the timeframe I am doing my price breakdown). I'm sure that's all part of the plan though: "Oh, well, GDT is only 50 dollars more, I'll stay there!" :duck:

From the Tower? One overlooks the parking lot and the other overlooks the lake in the middle of the property. I believe they both have fireworks views, with the advantage going towards standard view (closer).

Thank you! Personally, having a better fireworks view is more worth it than a water view, but that's just me. I wonder if Disney will raise the prices for these?

Did anyone checking into Gran Destino today get a "Your room isn't quite ready" text?

We chuckle every time we get that text and for some reason that was the first thing my goofy brain thought about when I realized today was the opening. :rotfl:

Can't wait to see it in a couple weeks!

The standard views face the parking lot and roadway. However they also have views of DHS and EPCOT, so there will be good views of the fireworks from those parks.

The waterview rooms will over look the resort which is a beautiful view, especially all lit up at night. The higher rooms will be able to see the higher fireworks from MK in the distance.

IMO the waterview room is the more stunning view 95% of the day. However the standard rooms (especially the higher ones) will have outstanding fire works views.

I'm not sure if this has been addressed already so I'll ask the question. It looks like the tower is directly linked/attached to the 'old' lobby, gift shop, El Mercado de Coronado, etc. but can anyone confirm whether you can access those areas from the tower without having to go outside? (i.e. is there some sort of corridor/hallway between the two such that you don't have to be outdoors if the weather is inclement?)

Yes, it’s an inside corridor. I believe there’s also an outdoor path as well.

But sure if it’s been mentioned but the rooms in the tower all have these cool smart TVs and those will be getting installed in all the rooms of the resort by the end of the year.

I am the only one watching all these videos about the Gran Destino Tower and wondering if the TVs still have the Today Channel??

Granted the new interactive TVs are cool and everything but if they don't have that channel I'm going SERIOUSLY mad!!

The pool is a 2 min walk from the tower. The only way it could be closer is to be right outside the door.

we only stayed at CBR once before in the Cabana's section and it seemed like a walk to the Dig Site, but it was July and 95 degrees so that probably clouded my judgement. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Are you sure you don’t mean Casitas? The Dig Site is literally right next to the Cabanas section.
PP might mean the old building where the tower stands now. Cabanas 9a and 9b. They were a decent jog to the pool, especially in the heat that the PP implies.

oh my god I just asked the same thing on Facebook! The admin who's there said "it's different". :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
He's going to post a video.

I hope if enough people ask for it that they add it, I'm rather annoyed by the fact they don't have it.

I just booked a one night tower stay before our 3 night Poly stay next month!! Can't wait to see the new tower. My husband and I have stayed in Cabanas 9B several times and in Casistas a few times, most recently in May. The interior shots of GDT look pretty nice!!

I'm staying at CBR in August
the only thing I'm not a fan of is the distance of the swimming pool. I'm also concerned it will be super crowded with all the extra rooms? Maybe the new hotel will be all convention people with no time for the pool! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
With the new bridges I think it should be a pretty quick walk to the Dig Site. I'm going in August and am also concerned that all those extra rooms will overwhelm the pool with crowds.
