I currently have a SW Chase Visa card I have had for a couple of years. The offer I got was to get 75 thousand miles based on certain amount of purchases within a time period, which I did. I have used those miles to travel to MCO.

I want to know if I cancel the card will the balance of the miles I have as part of the originally 75 thousand be deleted from my account? After cancelling the card, how long do I have to wait in order to apply to get a new offer?

Currently what do you think the best SW Chase offer is? I see one for 80 thousand but it is $199 fee.

TIA.
The SW points are in your SW Rapid Rewards account with the airline and not in your Visa account. So if you close the card, you will not lose the points.

You are eligible to receive a new bonus 24 months for when you received your last bonus not when you opened the card. So if you opened in 6/17 but received your bonus in 8/17 so would use the 8/17 date as your starting point for the 2 years. Chase has instituted one SW personal card at a time. So you would close your current card and then wait a bit to reapply for any of the personal cards when you are past that two year mark.

Southwest also has 2 business cards and while they have the bonus constraints, they do not have the one at a time constraint.

Many people will work towards the 110k in a year point mark in order to get the companion pass. So if you open one personal and one business or both businesses, you’ll reach that mark. It is good for the current year and following. Many of us on this board have the CP.

Thank you so much for the advice. If I am unsure of when I received my last bonus, would Chase tell me? I surely do not want to apply for a card and not qualify for the new bonus. Thanks again

Our flight from Glasgow to London Heathrow tonight was cancelled. No other flights out until tomorrow but our flight from London Heathrow back home is early in the morning before any flights from Glasgow would arrive. Thank goodness for Uber. The drive is going to be 6 - 7 hours 😳 The Uber driver told us his wife can’t believe he took a fare to Heathrow just to get out of driving his visiting mother in law back home 🤣
Oh no!!! What a bummer. That's a long drive. Hope it goes well and you have a few hours to sleep before catching your flight. Keep us posted on reimbursement--I'd think BA would pay for it, but I guess you never know! Don't forget to apply for your European Union reimbursement, too, if applicable.

You should be able to check you online Visa statements to see when it posted. Or send a secure message to Chase and ask them.

We made it to the Hilton Terminal 5 airport hotel a little after 1 am. We had called ahead and let them know we were coming in late and to please not release our reservation booking for one room and three adults. There was a crowd of people at check in and we knew something was up because of the late hour. It got scary for a moment when another party of two had been trying to get their room since 10 am that morning. The attendant said she would need to get a manager and I though DH was going to flip and he was asking why a manager was needed for us to check in and get our key. I asked him to chill and said getting the manager was fine, I’m sure Diamond status still counts for something (thank you Aspire card) and I’d be pulling up Twitter to compose a tweet just in case, while she did that. The manager came and very matter of factly explained we now had a one bedroom suite with two bathrooms. I said thank you very much. It’s now a bit after 2 am here and hopefully I can get about 3 hours of sleep before heading to the airport.

Yup, I will definitely be seeking out the EU reimbursement as well. Thanks!

Planning my CC applications for the next year, because that is a normal thing to do. Does anyone have the IHG card? Do you find it valuable? I was planning to use some IHG points in Central Europe next year but my friend & I got some concert tickets we didn’t expect to get and I blew 40K on a hotel room for the weekend. I’m hoping the sign-up bonus goes back to 100K, if I decide to apply.

Remind me when the yellow luggage tags for DME come... I got the upgraded MBs we ordered yesterday and it included the character tags. I thought DME tags usually came with that but couldn’t remember.

Thanks for the reminder to book DME for our August trip. I hadn’t gotten around to it because we fly in the night before and are staying at the Hyatt MCO and I wasn’t sure what time we wanted to walk over there in the morning. I picked a random Delta flight that gets in around 9:20am. Should get us to OKW in plenty of time to enjoy the pool, eat lunch at Olivia’s or Disney Springs, then head into HS for a few evening FP.

In other travel news, I happened to check one of the hotels we booked for our upcoming San Francisco trip and managed to grab an upgraded room for 3000 fewer URs.

Watched Bohemian Rhapsody tonight. Live Aid at the end was fantastic and made you feel like you were there, even though it take place several years before I was born lol. I thought Rami Malik did an excellent job, but I have to say that I think Rocketman is the better movie. I don’t think anyone could replicate Freddie Mercury’s singing, nor would I want them to try, but I just think it’s so impressive that Taron Egerton sang in Rocketman.

Anyways, just my two cents!

I have an urgent question. Does anyone know how I can make two separate payments on my Chase CIP card in the same day? The payment is due today and I didn’t have time to transfer the funds to my main account so I made a partial payment from that account. Then I added the second account online but when I tried to pay the balance, it said sorry - you already made a payment today. I have to pick a different day GRRRR

You could try calling the number on the back of the card. They may be able to take a payment over the phone. If not schedule a payment for the remaining balance tomorrow. If you’re charged any interest it will likely be very small and you can always call to ask them to waive.

Haven't booked our DME either for Aug 6 arrival!!! Having DH do it now. We each have our parts of the disney vacation to plan/do...I basically do everything I can to get it all for free...and then my dh is in charge of TP's and DME. Welp, he has fallen behind. I did my part so I let him know tonight that he needs to step it up, lol, and get DME booked!

Thinking about just getting my dh the BBP even though he keeps getting the dreaded Amex pop-up. It's *only* 10k points and maybe my referral bonus. Not sure if I lose that as well. He really need the BBP to keep his MR's active.

Does anyone know how the BBP no interest works? I've never, ever used a card that doesn't charge interest and just not sure what that looks like. I have a large purchase to put on the card and may decide to let it ride for a few months if there is no fee to do so.

You'll be fine. I get there the 7th and haven't gotten my tag yet. I do still need to call and pay the room off though.

I liked them both, but I agree that Rocketman was a better movie.

I believe @kmc8826 has used the BBP to float a direct DVC purchase with 0% interest

Any reason why chase would send Dh and I new CIPs but they have the same numbers as the ones we just got last week? My plan is to just shred them

Could that have been the original set before you requested them to be expedited? Maybe they were already created and mailed out, but Chase expedited a new set and you got the new set UPS before the original?
